How Much Do Your Kids Play with Their Easel?

I've always liked the idea of an easel for kids, and I'm considering getting one for my sons' upcoming birthdays -- they will be 4 and 2. The problem is that my house is very small and there isn't much room to spare. I'm worried that my husband will freak out if I add another big toy to the space. ;-) So, I thought I'd get your opinions first. Do your kids play with their easel? Mamas & Papas- Any tips or suggestions for good toys/ fun games to play with our DS? He's 19 months old now. Seems he's taken an interest in cars, running and chasing, and in opening and closing things.
