Boys Who Are Not into Sports

I have two boys 7 and 9 and they are awesome kids in most respects. we just moved to a new city and they started new schools. at this new school sports for boys is a big deal. my kids just have never been and even now are really not into any kind of group sports. to be honest my husband and never grew up in texas and never did organized sports growing up so we are not the best role models for sports! we have tried soccer and basketball etc since K but it never went very far. my older son is very uncoordinated and it was obvious that he was...

Gymnastics Fashion Question

so i signed my 4 year-old daughter up next week for gymnastics. I want her to feel she belongs so i wanted to get her a leotard for her first day. Do people wear the simple ballet leotards to gymnastics? I find the gymnastics leotards so garish. Will she be an odd ball if i just buy her a more tasteful dance leotard? Since you don't wear tights in gymnastics, will the dance leotards be modest and appropriate? I notice a lot of the gymnastic wear sold on-line is more of a mid thigh unitard. Any insights would be appreciated.

Learning to Swim

My 4 year old son is just learning to swim. Any ideas and/or suggestions on keeping him safe while allowing some independence (he likes to do everything "himself"). Also, any ideas on fun swim toys for my new swimmer?
