Miralax and Constipation

Since we started school we have been battling with constipation with our 5 year old. I think it is the transition from "free range" drinking to structure. I have met with the dr countless times and first we tried diet changes with no luck, now we are on miralax. I just wonder if anyone has used this long term with their child and has an opinion. My 14-month-old son is constipated a few times a week. I have been in contact a few times with the pediatrician's office and am doing everything I can. This started when he was switched over from formula to whole milk. Also, he does not drink much water. I am always forcing it on him, but he won't drink much. Constipation Causing Formula

My daughter is almost a month and though I am mostly breastfeeding, I had to supplement with formula, to get her weight up. The problem is now she is constipated and I understand that the formula is the culprit. We are trying Kayro syrup, but so far it isn't helping. I am using Nestle Good Start Formula with Iron. Is there another formula, perhaps, Soy, that may not cause the constipation? Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Fun with Pooping and Prune Juice

My one year old son has had a hard time pooping lately. It is awful to watch, he squats and then screams like it REALLY hurts to go and his poop is really hard. We just finished formula a few weeks ago and he is now on whole milk. He gets a lot of fruit and meat and wheat bread in his diet, but I'm wondering if he needs more fiber? My oldest step-daughter is a 20 year old single mother. She just recently moved back in with us. The baby just turned 3 months old.
