Back-To-School Backpack Help

My son will be entering the 4th Grade...Last year he had to lug an agenda (3-Ring Binder) with him everyday...on top of his lunch box...and in the winter snow pants and sneakers. He can leave the snowpants and sneakers at school for the week, but I like them to come home on the weekends. Plus, I have no idea what other books he will need to bring home everyday. I am looking for a backpack that is going to last me, is big enough for all his stuff and not that expensive. He keeps saying he wants one on wheels, which makes sense now a days...

Hi Moms, My son will be starting first grade in September and I'm trying to prepare for it. We home schooled for Grade K because we didn't have public K in our town last year - we live in NH. So this is all new to us. What will my son need to go to school - a backpack, lunch box, pencils, rulers, pens, notebooks? I don't know where to begin. Do 6 year olds need a backpack? What's a good one - something from LL Bean? What kind of lunch boxes work best? Do I supply him with pencils and erasers? Do first graders use pens? What about markers...

Preparation for Kindergarten

My daughter is starting public kindergarten in August and I was wondering what I should do to prepare for it. School starts at 7:50. Drive is probably 20 min or less. What time should I get her up in the mornings? 6:00? When should we start practicing getting up that early? Beginning of August? I am going to take her shopping for a back pack, lunch box etc. What is your favorite lunch box? What other things do you do to get your child ready for kindergarten?
