I check out Pinterest from time to time--not every single morning like I do Mamapedia, but I have tried some of the ideas I've come across:

roasted chickpeas--one batch was good, but the other not so much--worth trying to perfect
kale chips--good, but they shrink too much!!
a chicken enchilada soup recipe--very bland--much better after I spiced it up
mushroom chicken crockpot recipe--one of the best dishes to ever come out of my kitchen
homemade body scrub--good stuff

I can't wait to close on the house we are buying so I can start trying other decorating and craft ideas I have come across.

Care to share anything you've tried that you've found on Pinterest along with your results?

I found instructions on how to make superhero capes out of old grown up t-shirts, and it was so easy and amazing that I made a couple for my daughter and then when my friend's little girl was having a superhero party we cut out a ton for the kids to decorate. So easy and so much fun! What did parents do before the internet?

I'm in love with Pinterest. I've tried a lot of different things.

1) Fitness area gives me tons of motivation and ideas on how to change up my workout routine.

2) Recipes have been hit and miss. Some amazing, some a failure. Overall, more good than bad though.

3) Home decor ideas have rocked.

4) I've made several of the crafts and all of them come out looking pretty awesome. I now make the oversized ruler growth charts and they look amazing! I've also made a tent/fort out of pvc pipe for my boys and several other crafts.

5) Tried several of the hairstyles. Some look awesome. Some didn't work on my hair at all.

6) Tried some of the cleaning products. A shower cleaner was exciting because it was the fastest and easiest shower cleaning in my life. It made me want to show all guests my showers/tubs before any other part of my home. Also, a pin for cleaning the outside windows was wonderful too. Easy and the results were breathtaking.

All in all, I've had more good experiences than bad on Pinterest. Now my hubby knows that whenever I say, "I saw this on Pinterest....", he's got a project in his immediate future. He's not complaining though, because he's loved the results too.

Good luck!

I made my own laundry soap. Would work better in a top loader and not a HE. It gunks up the HE too much. Though it smelled heavenly and fought stains about the same as any other brand. I did Tetris Brownies for a friend, I saw the idea there. It was terribly painstaking, and took hours but the result was totally awesome.

I have tried quite a few of the recipes. One of our favorites is the hashbrowns in a waffle iron. Hubby LOVES those. Another is the lasagna soup. TO DIE FOR....

I've also made a few of the crafts. I made a last name craft for my son's teachers for Christmas that 2 of the other teachers loved so much that they asked my son how I did it, and made one for themselves.

I am so enthralled with the reading nooks that I've seen on there that I have designed one for myself, and am waiting for my husband to build for me.

Yeah! I actually started a pinboard called "I did it!" and post stuff I did with the results. I came across a To.Die.For recipe for making your own soft pretzel bites, I hung a shoe rack on my basement door to put cleaning supplies in, used an old spice rack for nail polish in the bathroom, and made a few other recipes. Nothing I did really turned out awful.

I found a deck made out of old pallets. Where my dad works they give away the pallets so I had him bring me 8 of them. We leveled the ground where we tore off our old porch and put the pallets down and leveled them... instead of just painting them like in the pic we put plywood over it and then put down indoor/ outdoor cermaic tiles ( had boxes left over from doing our kitchen). Added a railing and border over the pallet sides and we were done in one weekend. We spent $50 on it and it looks nice! Much cheaper then the colored concrete we were going to get or what it would have cost even if it was just a wood one.

I also made a stacked flower pot display with a bird bath on the top. Super easy and looks so nice in the yard.

I made some Easter basket cupcakes with Peeps bunnies, licorice, and jellybeans. They were so cute, and a big hit at our Easter get-together. I have a lot of stuff pinned that I want to try, but finding the time or money to do so is another story! I really like pinterest for crafty stuff, inspiration, and home decor. But for recipes I like to stick to sites where people give reviews so I can see what works and what doesn't. I'm interested in that mushroom chicken crockpot recipe you mention, though, sounds good!

Hi A.
I also tried the chickpeas, also want to do it again, this time I won't store in a tupperware right away, they continued to steam and became soft again not crunchy, good flavor, bad texture!
I have made many other recipes that were really good. For my birthday I did alot of great appetizers I found on Pintrest. They were great!
I also made some scarfs for Christmas gifts. Most of them turned out really nice.
Good luck!!
Blessings

I did the chicken parmesan recipe and all 3 of my boys LOVED it. I can not get the 2 younger ones to try anything new and have them actually like it but for some reason this was a hit. We also did a spaghetti bread thing that was good. The 2 younger boys liked it but wasn't in love with it. I would make it again and just serve spaghetti on the side to make everyone happy.
I have quite a few other recipes saved that I will eventually get around to it.

I made the baked taco salad shells using upside down muffin tins - didn't work. I like using Pinterest for hairstyles for both dd and myself, some have been quite good. The one pot mac n cheese where the noodles are boiled in milk is good. I made the roasted chickpeas, they were awful.
