GOOD MORNING!! i am thinking about changing foundation. i have tried diffrent types of liquid foundations and switched to bare minerals a few years back........ I read in an article this past week on MSN that water based cream to powder foundations are best for oily skin types that live in humid climates. ( which i have and i live in).
Please give me your input, i am 30 and my skin is starting to change as well. i think it may be time for a change foundation.

A cream foundation (even if its cream to powder) is not comfortable on the skin particularly in a humid climate. You would want to determine what level of coverage you want. Unless you have major discoloration, a full-coverage foundation like a cream actually is aging. Less coverage, something sheer, actually adds luminosity while showing skin so looking like you are naturally radiant. I have normal to oily skin, and have found covergirl clean foundation to be natural looking and not too heavy. Put it on just after your moisturizer to smooth it out, or you can mix in a bit with the moisturizer in your palm, apply it, then use a concealer with brush for areas needing more coverage. There is a covergirl concealer in a lipstick style tube...it's inexpensive, but really looked more natural on my undereye circles than the more expensive brands.

Great drug store foundations: Revlon Colorstay in Normal/Oily (lasts in humidity, but feels a little weird at first), Covergirl Clean, & the Maybelline Mousse type has a natural matte finish. If you want a cream to powder, Covergirl has a good one with Olay amino-peptides in it to encourage collagen regeneration. The yellow-based neutralizing undereye concealer is also phenominal if used lightly. You'd also be surprised how well using a skin matching concealer on just the discolored spots, a slightly lighter concealer for undereye, and a loose powder (Almay Pureblends is luminous and flawless) perfects the skin. I'm dying to try the L'oreal Studio Secrets primer with this method, it's supposed to be great.

PS. Oily skin can change the color of a foundation especially in a powder finish as it absorbs the oil.

Really helped me with choosing a proper foundation. They have a video about that and the companies they deal with offer a healthy and natural choice of makeup without cancer causing ingredients in them. FYI

Check it out for yourself.

I just switched my foundation. I use Duwop now and love it. (http://shop.duwop.com/foundationofyouth-1.aspx) it is an easy apply, not heavy and lasts all day!

Foundations are great, but the real question is what do you cleanse and moisturize your face with? That determines the best type of foundations. I actually cleanse with Mary Kay product and use only Mary Kay products. You want to see which brand works best for you and do the full line of that brand type. Mixing brands is not good on the face.
If you want more info, just message me.
I live close to you and it is hot hot hot....I only wear mineral powder foundation right now because of the heat. I don't want any thing heavy on my face.

We are the same age and same skin type and I also live in a very humid climate. I've always used mineral make-up too. I honestly cannot stand putting any type of foundation on though, it's just torture in a humid area. I would not do a cream foundation at all.

You probably just need a tinted moisturizer w spf. Get a concealer to dab on some spots (I use amazing cosmetics), then finish off with a setting powder. it's all i do. i also have blemishes and fine lines starting to show. Sometimes I put on a little under eye wrinkle cream. The less gunk on your face, the better it looks.

Snokoko gave great advice on what is good for aging skin. I'm a hairsylist/make-up artist and she is so right on.

Hi there
I wish we lived closer. I do custom blend foundations that are amazing. I also carry a cream to powder and a fantastik foundation that has anti aging products right in it. I would also look at your skin care. This will make a huge difference.
Go to www.coliryan.com and there is a skin care analysis on the more tab. It's in blue. This will help you chose. I will also email you some recommendations.

Check out Origins products at the mall or online. I love their stuff because it's gentle, not loaded with chemicals and looks so natural on my 30's skin. I like their Nude and Improved foundation. www.origins.com
