I use Glo Minerals which I LOVE!! http://www.glominerals.com/default.aspx
I get it from my facialist.
Hey Mommas, I was wondering if I could get some recommendations for either a foundation/powder mix or foundation and powder that has good coverage, and most of all makes your complexion look smooth. A product/s that is affordable would be an added plus! I just need a change, I have been using the same Clinique makeup for like 10 years!! If someone is using something that is out of this world amazing, I would spend a little extra! I really appreciate any help you can send my way :-)
Thank you so much for all of the requests. I have tried Bare Minerals now for two days and it is AWESOME!!! I am totally hooked. It takes no time to put on and somehow feels like I have no makeup on at all, but my face looks fabulous. Thanks again, I have not been this excited in a long time about a new beauty product!

I'm using the Dior foundation. It's a thick liquid and is dispensed with a pump. It's realy creamy and smooth but has nice coverage. They will give you a sample to take home and try.
I love the Bare Minerals the best, but you have to get the correct undertone. The Starter kit that they sell has 2 different undertone shades, so one won't look right on you. I would head to the mall and get matched correctly.
Don't think that it is expensive, it lasts so much longer than liquid foundation.

OMG you SO need to try Bare Minerals! I got my first set a couple years ago and I will NEVER wear any other! I've gotten so many compliments on how good my skin looks! ULTA carries it as well as a little natural food store by my house (SW Arlington) but if you look it up on the web you can go to the manufacturer's website and find other retailers too..try it! You'll love it!
Melaleuca has a great cosmetic line that is natural. The line is developed by Nicole Miller. I fell in love with the Melaleuca products so much that I now I go around introducing people to these awesome products.
I am a Shaklee Independent Distributor and changed my skincare system to theirs over a year ago. It's awesome. Imagine how excited I was when just a few months after switching one of my best friends asked what I was doing differently. She said my skin was obviously younger looking......and I had good skin to begin with! Take a peek:

Seems most of your recommendations have been for mineral makeup and mine will be no different. I LOVE MINERAL MAKEUP!!! I don't have nice evenly-toned skin. I have large pores and clogged pores, no pimples, but plenty of other stuff needing coverup. Mineral makeup has done that for me, lasts longer looking nice, feels like I have no makeup on. I began several years ago with some from an infomercial, Sheer Cover, which I love. However, I don't like that they make you have a subscription and you receive a supply each month or 2 months. I'm retired now and don't wear makeup every day, so that just doesn't work for me. I've also used Urban Decay. I recommend going to a makeup counter, or someplace like Ulta and have a makeover, requesting mineral makeup if you decide to try it. Just my 2 cents worth.
Hi C.
Iam a makeup lover! I love trying new things. Right now, I just bought Lauren Hutton makeup line through HSN.com. It is all natural no chemicals. Great to wear around children. I have a mineral powder foundation that is great and the face disc(which is wonderful!)it has concealer, blush, lip balm and other little things all in one little compact.! Good luck!
C., I am NOT a Mary Kay rep but I LOVE my MK mineral foundation. I've used several different brands of mineral foundation (when I started MK didn't offer it, although I've used their skincare for years) and quite honestly I find that I like MK the best. They've got mineral in colors as well (cheek, eye). On those days that I feel I need just a little bit extra I use their tinted moisturizer underneath the mineral foundation and love the smooth finish I get. My rep even came to my house and did a whole color thing on me so I got the right shade of foundation and a new set of color that I probably wouldn't have tried otherwise. I've been very happy and the prices are reasonable. Good luck!
Hi C.,
My name is S. and I am a Mary Kay beauty consultant. We have a variety of foundations that give great coverage. Our latest is our Mineral Powder Foundation. We also have come out with a NEW Replenishing Serum +C that also helps your skin become more smoother. I'd love to help you with your needs. You can email me at ____@____.com and we can pick out a day and time to get together to find the best solution for you. The good thing about Mary Kay is you get to try before you buy and it is 100% satisfaction guaranteed! Look forward to hearing from you. S.
I just go turned onto Joppa Minerals. It is on online company. They have several foundations with different levels of coverage. Unlike most mineral makeup, that only have 3-4 shades, Joppa has over 15 shade choices. The best part is that you can order samples of the products for just a few dollars. I ordered 4 foundation samples in several shades. Each sample is about 5 days worth of coverage. That is enough time to see how your skin reacts, as well as test the colors. I also ordered 4 or 5 blush samples, each one was like $1 and last for almost a week. I was able to really see how the looked all day. Try it out!
Love, love, love the mineral makeups. Just make sure it is all mineral. There are a lot out there that aren't. I love the costco brand, Pure Minerals (Ulta has it) and the Princess Borghese at costco. It is worth every penny!
I started using Everyday Minerals a few years ago and LOVE them. You can get a make up kit for free to try (you pay for shipping). They have all different finishes from Matte to shiny. I love them because I have olive tone skin and they carry the perfect blend. And they are very reasonably priced too! http://www.everydayminerals.com/
Best Regards,
C.
I use Clinique City Base Compact Foundation. I love this because it is not a liquid. I use very little foundation and then use the Clinique Transparency Powder followed by Clinique blush, liner, shadow and mascara.
I am very loyal to Clinique as is my 14 yr old daughter.
Many times, the Clinique reps will give you samples. Also, I was at Dillards Stonebriar today and they are having a special and starting appointments for make up demos and trials beginning Sept 24.
Good luck!
Try Bare Minerals. It is great stuff. They have a store in Parks Mall in Arlington and they will walk you through colors, how to apply and everything that you will need. Their whole line is really good. I have been using it for a couple of years now and would never use anything else.
May I recommend you try just going into a Sephora, and talk with their advisors. There are so many cosmetics out there, and what works for one person may not work for another. I use Bare Escentuals and Smashbox, and like both. I've used the mineral makeup from Costco, but it looked orange on me. I also have a friend/neighbor who sells Mary Kay and she keeps giving me items to try, but I haven't liked any of them. But have I other neighbors that order from her regularly, so like I said, what works for one person may not work for another. I love Sephora because everything is out, the choices are vast, and they are more than willing to help you find what works for you. Good luck.
I am an Avon Independent Sales rep and recruit and they have just come out with mineral makeup and its awesome! If you haven't tried Avon before I would say it's the wal-mart of beauty supplies. Everything you want at a reasonable price. $5-10 for some real good foundation. Check it out and you be the judge because Avon also has a 100% gaurentee with all their products! www.youravon.com/arbygarrett
Hi C.,
I am sure that you have already received dozens of responses to your message, but I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and I will be honest and tell you that our liquid foundation and our mineral powder foundation are both AWESOME. Very lightweight with great coverage and compared to the prices that you are used to seeing with Clinique...Mary Kay is the same high quality with a much better price. I would love to give you a complimentary facial so you can experience these products for yourself or I keep inventory at my house and you are always welcome to drop by and just pick up what you want or try before you buy since I have lots of samples. Not sure where you live, but I live in Rowlett and would love to meet you. Call me if I can help in any way: ###-###-####
I HIGHLY recommend Southern Magnolia Minderals. They are all natural, made by a WAHM and CHEAP! She gives you free shipping and always includes samples too which are nice. She also shis really fast, I usually get my order in 3-4 days or so. They are just like Bare Minerals but WAY WAY WAY cheaper!! Her website is: www.smmcosmetics.com
i use Organic Physicans Formula. its like 10-15 dollars depending on what you get. at walmart or target. its worked great for me! its light and covers well.
I love Covergirl Advanced Radiance. It is nice & creamy without being too thick, and it makes my skin look great. You can buy at any drugstore and it's less than $10! good luck!
I am an AVON representative in South Arlington. We have a great mineral make up selection that is priced very reasonable. I also recruit representatives. The cost to join AVON is $10.00.
I also have an AVON online order site you can register on, shop our catalogs and have the product shipped to your house. youravon.com/bettystafford

I would recommend MAC "studio fix" powder foundation 100%!!!
It has wonderful coverage adn is good for oily or dry skin. You don't need foundation and powder just the one product by itself. It is about $27 but it lasts a really long time (2-3 months). If you save up your empty compacts (not just powder but blush and eyeshadow) you get free lip stick. I have also used the blush and it lasted a whole year with every day wear.
I have been using Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse for a couple of years and I love it. I have tried many makeups and this one is great for coverage, light but stays on, and best of all is very inexpensive. Walgreens often has their makeup buy one get one 1/2 off and I stock up then. I also won a bottle of Arbonne Primer at an Arbonne party and it is unbelievable. I will be using it from now on. My foundation spreads so evenly over it and my skin is so soft and smooth after just 2 weeks. My skin was really rough in spots before I started using it because I have been dealing with some health problems and taking a lot of medication.
I really LOVE Bare Escentuals-- I had never used anything like it before, and to be honest, thought it was just all hype, but my mom used it and went on and on about how great it was, so I finally broke down and got the kit. They sell a "starter kit" for $60, which sounds like a lot, but it has all the brushes, two shades of the "Mineral Make-up", a bronzer, etc., so it's DEFINITELY worth it. Bare Escentuals also has stores in several locations now (there's one at Northpark Mall), so you can go in and they'll do a little make-over for you, so you can try before you buy. FYI-- I love this make up because it has full coverage, but isn't liquid and doesn't look or feel heavy or "cakey"-- I had always just used a Clinique pressed powder foundation, but this is MUCH better, and it can even be used as a concealer with the right brush (which also comes with the kit), so you don't have to buy separate concealer/ cover-up! It's AWESOME!
I have asked the same question on Mamasource a while ago! I got many, many responses. I tried them (almost) all. My pick: Mary Kay Full or Medium Coverage Foundation. I am still using it every day. The first day I wore it I was complemented on my skin. This makeup makes you look fresh with great coverage.
Hello there! Mary Kay has quite a selection of different types of foundations: Liquid Medium Foundation (for normal to oily, Liquid Full Foundation (for normal to dry), Cream to Powder, Mineral Powder, Day Radiance Foundation (lightweight formula), Tinted Moisturizer (excellent for summer!), Pressed Powder, Loose Powder, etc.
I would be happy to provide you with different samples! I offer Free facials and makeovers also! For more information, please feel free to visit my website http://www.marykay.com/jillgordon ###-###-####
I also use Mary Kay mineral powder foundation, and I love it. Same price point, or maybe even slightly cheaper than Clinique.
I have used Revlon color-stay foundation for years and I love it! I have wasted money on trying others, but Revlon is the best. I also use Palladio powder, you can use it wet or dry and can be found at Sally's. I always get compliments on how smooth and flawless my face is. Both of these make-ups are under 10.00. Good luck!
Hi C.!
I saw your request and thought I might give my two cents...
Although I am an Arbonne Consultant, I'm not here to "throw" myself at you....just wanting to help. Arbonne has a MAKEUP PRIMER that is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Really!
I honestly have never liked "an added step to my routine", but once I tried this I'm hooked! It makes your face so smooth, the product glides on like silk...REALLY! It smooths and minimizes the look of fine lines..wrinkles.
I have never found a primer that I thought was worth the extra effort.....but this one is.
SO....in short I know you asked about a foundation, but this will change even the the current foundation you use. It makes your foundation last through out the day and the coverage true and even.
I love it...maybe you will too!
I have samples and would love to send you some to try!
Let me know....
Sincerely,
K.
