What's in Your Travel First Aid Kit?

Hi Mamas! We are getting ready to go on a family trip before baby 2 arrives. We have a 20 month old son who is becoming more adventurous by the day. :) Thankfully he's only had a few bumps and bruises and scrapes that we've been able to care for at home. That being said, I'm packing over the next few days and I'd like to get a first aid kit together, for things like stings, bites, scrapes, cuts, burns, whatever we need to be prepared, I suppose. Do you have a first aid kit? What's are the essentials? Thanks everyone!

22 Month on Albuterol for More than 2 Weeks

My son was hospitalized over 2 weeks ago for his breathing issues. When he got out we went about a week and a half with albuterol treatment about twice a day. When I was certain his breathing was back to normal I stopped the treatment. The very next day he is sick again and I noticed really fast breathing timed his breathing and he was over 40 breaths per minute, did a breathing treatment and called the pediatrician in the morning. He added a month steroid given through the nebulous or and children's Allegra and said continue with the...

Reaction to Albuterol

Hello, Mamas! I need some feedback. Our 3 year old son has asthma issues only when he has a respiratory illness. During those time, we have successfully given him his albuterol inhaler as a daily treatment for the wheezing and coughing until the illness subsides and he no longer needs it. That lasts maybe a week at the most. It's been over 10 months since the last time he had to use the inhaler, and we had to use it last night. However, within about 5 minutes, he started itching on his legs like crazy and the left side of face got...

4 Year Old Son with Allergies/asthma

My 4 year old son was recently diagosed with allergies associated with asthma. He gets a persistant cough this time of year and in the fall. The cough sometimes causes him to vomit. He has had allergies since he was a baby, however, the asthma part of this is new to me. I feel uneasy about it because he seems to be on lots of medication now. We have a nebulizer and he inhales albuterol twice daily. He also has nasonex, zyrtec and singulair. Zyrtec was the most effective, but now doesn't seem to work as well--this is when he was given...

Can't Kick the Congestion

My daughter had RSV back in January and then Feb 14 I brought her back in because her hacking persisted and temperature spiked back up again. She tested negative for RSV and they said she had an ear infection. She was on amoxycillan for 10 days. Her hacking/congestion still persist with runny noses. I am sucking her nose out every morning and a few times a day over the weekend. The Dr said the congestion could last up to 8 weeks when she got the RSV. It has been that long and is still very bad in my opinion to the point that I am...

Any "Natural" Remedies for Asthma Out There?

Hello, I have a 17 month old who is on a nebulizer 2-3 times a day (more when he sounds bad) he is also on an allergy medicine that he takes at night. I'm concerned that we are relying too heavily on drugs and was wondering if there are any natural remedies out there that anyone has found successful.

Aggressive Behavior in 2 Year Old Boy

Our boy has started acting aggressive since before 18 months. He started pinching and hasn't really stopped. I have tried everything, and it comes and goes. He has recently really been acting bad when we change his diaper. He pinches, scratches, almost kicks me in the face, and has kicked my poor husband in the groin a few times as well as actually kicked him in the head. Again, we've tried talking, yelling, and patted his bottom to get his attention. Nothing works. My gut tells me that it may be the allergy medicine that we've been giving...

Allergy Testing for 15 Month Old

My 15 month old son has allergies. Nothing severe. He has had some eczema in the past but that has been under control for months now. We use vanicream once per day and that is it. Really nothing to speak of. He lay on the cats once and turned red and itchy so I am assuming he may have a cat allergy but of course nothing notable since and he is around the cats all the time. He had the RAST blood test done at 1 year and he tested a 1 for wheat and milk and a 2 for eggs and peanuts. He drinks goats milk and has recently been introduced to cows...
