ADHD And Medication???

My son, now 5 1/2 was diagnosed with ADD, Hyperactive kind, 2 years ago. I was never able to fully accept the diagnosis, but he definately has a lot of the typical symptoms. He was having behavior problems already first year in preschool. His little brother is totally "normal", but my 5 year old drives me nuts. I'm a stay-at-home mom, and he goes to half day Kindergarten, so I spend a lot of time with my kids, with little relief from this very high-maintenance child. The last few months I've been so torn weather or not to start him...

Male Strangers Who Create "Small Talk" with Female children....is It.....

...appropriate, inappropriate or neither in YOUR opinion? Are they saying disrespectful things, not necessarily. But is it okay to ask questions or make direct statements to a child w/o acknowledging the parent or seeing if the parent is okay with that? For example, offering a child food/candy w/o first asking the parent if it's okay. Or, questions about their family or schooling? This is not a topic that's consuming me or stressing me. It does make me feel awkward though. Any thoughts or experiences like this?

What Would YOU Have Done Question - Incident with Shopper at Sam's Club

I was at Sam's Club the other day. I'm standing in line with my teen daughter at the checkout lane waiting to unload my cart and there is a lady (probably in her late 20's or early 30's). She is nicely dressed in career type clothing, hair looks like she just stepped out of a salon, she has on nicely applied makeup, nice shoes/purse/wallet, etc. She is standing behind me holding two large boxes of cupcakes.
