My 22 month old just put a link toy in between his legs and then squatted to release it and said, "I'm pooping!" What the heck!!? Am I just an amateur mom because my 3 year old still does not do stuff like that and he is a boy too! Is this just what boys do? I am so happy that he is maturing and that he recognizes what pooping is but I am surprised that he knew how to do that. LOL I'm dumb founded. Do you guys have any funny stories about when your kids surprised you by doing something or saying something you did not know they knew?

What can I do next?

When my 3 yr old came out of the bathroom with a long strand of toilet paper between his butt cheeks and said, "I grew a tail!"

I love these poo/butt stories!

When my youngest son was 6, I smelled burnt plastic coming from the kitchen. When I went in he was standing over by the toaster and it was smoking. I rushed over to see what he had done and found a melted plastic Army man inside. I asked his why he did that. He simply replied, with more seriousness that his age should have, "He's a P.O.W. and this was his punishment". I stood there speechless and finally told him to find a different form of punishment because he ruined my toaster.

After he left the kitchen, I started laughing. I couldn't ground him because he was so creative with his explanation.

He's almost 20 now and still rolls his eyes when I tell this story.

Yes we were in ponchos a while back and my 3yo had to poop, and I guess she wanted to hurry up and finish eating, so she patted her butt and say "come on Butt you can do it", so now everytime somebody is pooping, we always walk by and knock and say it lol...

My 3.5 year old was on the potty a few nights ago, and she pooped, and she leaned forward and took a big sniff. She looked up at me and said, "That poop smells horrible!" LOL I wondered the same thing.... how do they come up with these things? I mean, was she sitting there and thought, "Hey, I think I'll bend over and smell my poop." LOL It would be interesting to know!

He'll probably wait until the neighbors come over, to put his lincoln log up to you know what, and say something it and embarass the heck out of you!! It's a boy thing for sure, and you never know where they learn it from!!
Like when they pick up a toy car, and start going vroom vroom and you didn't even teach them that yet.

When my son was around 2 , he pretended to whip it out & pee on someone. He had never done anything like that but what made it somewhat appropriate was that the person he played the trick on, was constantly messing with him. He would do stuff that would get under a two year olds skin. It really was funny , especially the reaction of the person he did it to. Inappropriate but funny.

Several years ago my then almost 4 year old was building a snowman. He picked up A. icicle and kind of nonchalantly and to no-on in particular said, "Hmmm...I can make a boy one!"

I was on a plane with my then 2 year old daughter when she looked at a picture in a magazine of a woman with a somewhat skin-colored dress on and loudly asked, "Mommy, can I draw nipples on this one?"
