I would like to donate my children's old toys to a place that could really use them. I always donate them to Goodwill, but who knows where they end up. I would love for them to go to some needy children, they are in great condition. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays..!

St. Louis Church on Burnet Rd. is collecting toys to be given to needy children at their Celebration of Love event next Saturday, Dec. 13th. They are asking for new toys but I heard that "like new" is fine too. Thanks for sharing with those less fortunate.

Put an add on craigslist stating free to needy family.Every holiday season my family helps an underprivileged family. Granted this year is tougher for us as well, but I found a single Mom who is taking care of her sisters kids as well. We gave them all our gently used toys, kids clothes, bought all the kids jackets and went to Costco and bought them food for a month. If you also have the means to help beyond the toys it is a wonderful example for your children as well.

You can also look into Caritas and LifeWorks. I believe LifeWorks helps families move from homelessness to a home :D

I have worked as a volunteer coordinator in the non-profit sector of Austin for over 12 years. I would recommed either donating to Safeplace, Lifeworks or Caritas. They are all fantastic agencies who help children and they would love the donation. Thank you for being so generous!
