Twin 1: 8lbs, 7oz
Twin 2: 7lbs, 13oz (That's right...16lbs, 4oz of baby!!!!)
Baby 3: 10lbs, 7oz
I have an idea of how that mom felt. Actually, my twins were more, so she has an idea of how I felt. :)
A mom in Southern California just gave birth to a 13 POUND 14 OUNCE baby!! HOLY SMOKES BATMAN!!! Yes, they delivered him via C-Section - could you imagine trying to push something the size of a 3 month old out?!?!?!
Greg was 6 weeks early and 6 lbs 9 ounces - his daddy was 10lbs at birth so we were expecting a big boy!! Can you imagine if he had made it the next 6 weeks?!!? OUCH!!!
Nicky was 4 weeks early and 6 lbs 13 ounces.
Elayne was on-time and almost 8 lbs.
So how big were your babies?

Twin 1: 8lbs, 7oz
Twin 2: 7lbs, 13oz (That's right...16lbs, 4oz of baby!!!!)
Baby 3: 10lbs, 7oz
I have an idea of how that mom felt. Actually, my twins were more, so she has an idea of how I felt. :)
My first son was 9 lbs, 3 oz., 21 inches, my second was 11 lbs 1/2 oz, 22 3/4 inches. Now they are both tall and skinny, growing like weeds. My older boy was 10 days early, my younger was 7 days early. Both were c-section, so no sympathy needed. :) heehee
Both of my babies were born 4 weeks early. My daughter weighted 5lb 14oz and my son weighted 7lb 5oz.
I have her beat. Well, in a way. Our twins were 8 lbs 12 oz and 7 lbs 6 oz. I was HUGE!!! They were born at 37 weeks.
Our son was 7 lbs 12 oz at 38 weeks.
8 lbs 7 oz.
I do have a funny story about a friend though.
She was little bitty in frame, like a size four. When she went to childbirth classes, they used a plastic baby and plastic hips to show how the baby passes through.
She called me a few days later and said she just knew she was going to have to have a Csection. When I asked her why, she told me that her son was already estimated at 7 lbs, (she had six weeks left to go) and that the plastic baby didn't fit through the plastic hips in class because the hips were too small. She then told me that her baby would be bigger than the baby is class and her hips were smaller.
I kinda laughed and said, "Honey, you do realize that your baby and your hips aren't plastic right? Your hips will stretch and the baby's head will smoosh a little." She didn't really believe me.
However, she had her son naturally and he ended up being 8 lbs 8 oz.
9lb 15.75 ounces. When talking I round up to 10. A quarter of an ounce off is just silly.
23.5" long
That's pretty low for my side of the family, though. Many babies in my family are 11-12.5 And not a single one via c-section, yet. Great. I've just cursed the next W. in my family to get pregnant. Sorry!
ROFL... my son was nearly 20lbs at 3 months. He was still crawling (around 9mo) and some W. demanded he let her 2yo use the baby swing, since she was too young to use the "big boy swing"! bwahahahhaaaaa... lady... you've got another think coming. He may be bigger than your 2yo, but he's still an infant.
5 lbs., 4 oz. (born 12/20, due 1/8). I didn't even really show until late in the pregnancy! And he's still a bit of a wee bug at 4 years old.
Wow!! That baby's weight is more than 4 times the weight that each of my babies were at birth.
My son was 3lbs. and a half an oz.
My daughter was 2lbs. and 15 oz.
(I carried twins who entered this world on their own schedule.... over 9 wks. early.)
7lbs :)
He was 5 days early~
My son was 7 lbs and 13 ounces when he was born. Now I can't believe my baby turns 2 years old tomorrow!
My first was 5lbs, 11 oz and 4 weeks early.
My second was born at 39 weeks and was 8 lbs 5.5 oz. I'm a fairly petite person and I kept telling my OB this was a big baby and she kept telling me he wouldn't get any bigger than 7, or 7 1/2 lbs at the MOST. I remember the day before he was born, he had dropped so low in my pelvis that when I walked, my hip joints felt like they were going to fall apart! LOL!
My oldest(daughter) was born at 39 weeks and was 8lbs 3.6 ounces.
My second(daughter) was born at 38 weeks and was 7lbs 4 ounces.
My third(son) was born at 39 weeks and was 8lbs and 4 ounces.
All almost had the same weight.I honestly think if my second daughter was born at 39 weeks like her siblings she would be at the 8lbs 4oz mark.
*I was 9lbs and 7 ounces
*My hubby was born premature and was 2lbs and 2 ounces
My first was 15 days early on her own, at 8 lbs even, c-section because she was in distress after 14 hours labor.
Second was scheduled c-section 1 week early at 10 lbs 1 oz.
My first son was 7lbs13oz - vaginal birth
My second son was 9lbs7oz - C-section after 2 days of labor and him being in distress
My daughter was 10lbs9oz -A week early! C- section
Holey smokes indeed!
My daughter was 7lbs 8 ounces, 20 inches, 39 weeks. My niece was 5lbs 6 ounces, 21 inches, 35 weeks.
I think about baby weight by imagining packets of butter. 13 packets of butter. That's serious!
lots of answers....wow!
My children were: 8lbs 2oz 5lbs 2oz & 7lbs 12oz.
My sister's were: 8lbs 12oz 9lbs 6oz & almost 10lbs.
But my SIL beat us all: she had twins....7lbs 2oz & 6lbs 14 oz. 14lbs of baby! Full term, & didn't know she was having twins until the 1st one was out! OMG....just shoot me now!
8 for first, just shy of 10 for second (no diabetes, just a big, big boy!) ...and ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Yes, it hurt.
my daughter was 10 lb even. she was 24 inches long (first baby)
son #1 9 lb 13 oz
son #2 9 lb 5 oz
son # 3 9 lb 11 oz
My daughter was 10.12 and almost 2 weeks early and my sweet son was 11 even almost 2 weeks early. We are big people and have big babies. =)
I can't imagine having a baby born at 13 pounds! Kailey was born at 39 weeks at 6 pounds 9 ounces and Jonathan was born at 38 weeks at 6 pounds 6 ounces.
DD 9lb 14ozs, 22" long (2 weeks early)
DS 9lb 14ozs, 23" long (3 weeks early)
Mine weighted the exact same which is pretty neat! They were both big babies and I was 125lbs (5'8") when I found out I was pregnant. The dr told me at 3 months I would have to have a c-section...
He was 9lbs 13 oz and NOT a c-section! He is still my adorable pudge ball, I was definitely hurting for a LONG time post-partum
ADDED:
Man! I have never seen other people that had natural child-birth with 10lbs or bigger babies! People always freak when I tell them lol
I had a cousin whose babies were all nine to ten pounds. And she lived to tell about it.
Mine were all in the seven and eight pound range.
Ava was 6 lb 11 oz (40 + 3) and Ella was 7 lb 14 oz (41+2). No way could I imagine carrying a baby that large!
my daughter was 1 week late and was 8lbs 15oz
My first was two week early and was 6lb 13 oz.
My second was on time and was 7lb 14 oz.
My last was on time and 7lb 6 oz.
My first was a little over a week early-- 8lbs 11 oz, my second was a week early and was 7lbs 11 oz, and my third is due in 3 weeks so...will keep you posted on what she weighs. :)
M
My first daughter was 6 lbs 9 oz. She was 10 days early.
My second daughter was 6 lbs 1 oz in the delivery room, but she pooped before she got to the official weighing in the nursery. So she officially weighed 5 lbs 15 oz., and she was 9 days early.
My neighbors had big babies. Like 11lbs 7oz, and 10lbs 14 oz. they still won't hold my baby.
Baby Girl #1 - 6lbs 6oz - Full term
Baby Girl #2 - 6lbs 14oz - Full term
Baby Girl #3 - 6lbs 9oz - I think she was technically a couple weeks early.
My first was an emergency c-section after labor started, my second I went into labor the night before her scheduled c-section, and my third I never went into labor. She had jaundice pretty bad which is why I believe she was at least two weeks early.
10 lbs - number one - found out later I had undiagnosed diabetes due to bad medial care in the US
9 1/2 pounds - number 2 - diabetes - uncontrolled - lived overseas and was not properly diagnosed
7 1/2 pounds -- number 3 - controlled diabetes
6 pounds - number 4 - same
The last one seemed so SMALL ;))
But you can see the pattern with better controlled diabetes...
First one was 3 weeks early at 5 lbs. 13 oz. Next one on time at 6 lbs 10 oz. The first would nurse 10 full minutes at each breast and grew to be quite the chubby baby in no time, and a beautiful normal healthy weight 15 year old right now. The second would barely nurse 5 minutes total and is still a petite skinny thing at 12.
4 kids.... 1st one 6 lbs 14 oz...
2nd 8 lbs 12 oz
3rd 7 lbs 8 oz
4th 7 lbs 7 1/2 oz .....
(The 3rd and 4th may have been a week or two early, so they could have been around 8 lbs each, also.)
Cheryl: Too funny! My first was also 6 lbs 9 ounces!!! She was eight minutes past her due date.
Number two was 7 lbs 0 ounces. Lucky seven and three weeks early.
No, I cannot imagine pushing out a 13 pounder. Ouch.
Fun post! Have a great weekend, ladies!
1) girl born on her due date 7lbs 4 oz
2)boy born 12 days early 7lbs 6 oz
3)girl born 6 days early 7lbs 4 oz
4)girl born 12 days early 8lbs 6 oz
Daughter born 3 weeks early 6lb 12oz
Son born 3 weeks early 7lbs 13oz
If I had gone full term who knows...both had gigantic heads too. Son was biggest but he was emergency c-section.
Seven pounds even 3 days before my due date. We thought he'd be much smaller, as I didn't start showing until 7 months.
Both of my children were born about two weeks early, and both were delivered by c-section for different (but necessary) reasons.
My first daughter was 7 lbs, 4.5 oz.
The second daughter...funny, they kept saying she was a "big" baby...weighed 6 lbs 15 oz, and when we brought her home she only weighed about 5 lbs even.
1st was 8 lb 7 oz he was 4 days late
2nd was 7lb 8 oz he was a few days early
funny, huh?
My DD was 7 lbs 15.7 oz (love the digital scale). She was 10 days early.
My stepson was 10lbs and change and my SD was 8 lbs and change. I have a friend who was nearly 11 lbs at birth (and not a c-section).
Kenzie was on her due date at 7lbs, 14oz and Parker was 2 weeks early at 8lbs, 6oz(yikes if she would have gone 2 more weeks!)
Both my hubby and I were around 9lbs, so we were expecting bigger babies!
My son was 5lbs 10oz but had about 2lbs of fluid because of hydrops my daughter was 10lbs 4.2oz!
9 lbs. 3 oz. and 9lbs.1 oz. At 40 weeks 6 days and 39 weeks 5 days, respectively.
3 days early, 8lbs 4oz
9 days early 9lbs 3oz
I didn't know you had three.
Number 1 6 weeks early, 3lbs 3oz
Number 2 10 days early, 7lbs 7 oz
Number 3 8 days late, 7lbs 6 oz
Number 4 right on time, 8 lbs 2 oz
5 lbs 8 oz (2 wks early)
6 lbs 7 oz (9 days late)
7 lbs 13 oz (1 wk early)
My son was 7 lbs. 3 oz. He was 2 weeks earlier than my due date.
However, my boss had a 13 pound (Youch!) baby boy--and, yes--the natural exit route. The child had a side part on his newborn picture!
My first baby(daughter) was born 2 days after her due date and weighed 7lbs 4 oz
My second (son) was born on his due date and weighed 9lbs even but he had really broad shoulders and literally got stuck and broke his collarbone during delivery :(
My youngest (son) was born at 39 weeks and he weighed in at 9lbs 1 oz.
Right on time 9 lbs 5 ounces baby girl
I read that! Even the mom was like 'how did he fit!?'
Emmy: 7lbs 15 oz
Madison: 7 lbs 13 oz
Roman: 7 lbs 14oz
At least I'm consistent ;) The girls were born 10 and 3 days late, Roman was 1 day early because I was induced (had to be home for Christmas and play Santa!)
ETA: I love hearing all these fat baby stories! SO many girls my age that had babies the same time I did were so hell bent on not gaining weight, that their babies suffered, and all those babies were under 5 lbs full term, so sad. Fat babies are the best!
Also, I was 7lbs even when I was born, full term. I did not expect mine to all be almost 8 pounders, but that's totally okay with me :)
My daughter was 8 days late and she was 7Lbs 1 oz and my son was 3 weeks early and he was 6 lbs 15 oz.
My first was a big preemie....6 lb. 1 oz. My second was born at 37 weeks or so and was 8 lb 1 oz.
Two weeks early. 7 lbs 10oz
I just read that story, too. I've always wondered if my daughter was unusually small for being full term, but the article actually gave her weight as in the normal range. She was only 5 lbs. 8 oz. So tiny you could see her pointy little tail bone in the back. It didn't take her long to become a cute, chubby baby. :)
My son was born 3 weeks early at 5 lbs 15 oz.
He chubbed up pretty good after being born and nursing. But since he started walking he's become Mr.Skinnylegs like his Mom. He's almost 4 yrs old and can wear size 24 month pants - except they're highwaters on him. He's gotta wear size 3 or 4T, sinched up at the waist.
Mine were pretty much right on time.
DD was 5 lbs. 12 oz.
DS was 7 lbs. 7 oz.
Guess which one I got the forced episiotomy w/. : /
My son was 8 lb 11 oz and my daughter was 8 lb even. 13 lbs 14oz is a very big newborn - crazy!
One week late: 8lbs. 5oz.
My first daughter was 10 days late and 8lbs. Daughter number 2 was 8 lbs 14 oz. :)
7 lbs 13 oz 4 days early, daughter born 2000
11 lbs 5 oz 1 day over due date and induced, son born 2006
Our son was 6 days overdue and weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces..
Daughter was born on her due date, 9 pounds 2 1/2 ounces.
Grand daughter was 5 weeks early and weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce, but due to our daughter having type 1 diabetes she was bigger than normal. If she had gone full term she may have weighed 12 pounds they said.
My son was 7 days late, 9lbs .02 ounces. I was induced, then proceded to having an epidural( too high) which caused an emergency c-section.
Now that's a big baby! I thought my husband, who was 11 pounds 9 ounces was big..
My baby was born 3 days before her due date and she was 8lbs 10oz.
My son 1st, 2 weeks early 7lbs 14oz
My daughter 2nd, 3 weeks early 6lbs
That has got to be the heaviest newborn I have ever heard of! Wow! It may sound ignorant of me but, how does that happen, genetics? It's pretty W.!
My son was 8lbs 14oz. We will have to wait and see what the little lady weighs, TBT.
Have a great day!
7lbs9oz, 8lbs6oz and 7lbs5oz- all full term.
First girl came one week early 8lb 6ounces
Second girl came 2 days early 8lbs 3ounces
My 1st (34 weeker) was 5 lb 13 oz.
My 2nd (36 weeker) was 8 lbs 7 oz.
My 3rd (37 weeker) was 8 lbs 11 oz.
At 25 weeks, the u/s showed that #4 was 1lb 9 oz (that was 4 weeks ago, I've *blossemed* since then), so I'm curious to find out if my only girl will live up to her *big* brothers!
Both of mine were born right on time (40 weeks, 1 day and 39 weeks 2 days)
son - 9 lbs
daughter - 7 lb 13 oz
My daughter was 5 weeks early and weighed in a little over 5 pounds. My son was also born at 5 weeks early and he weighed in at just under 7 pounds. It was stated that had I carried either to term #1 would've been close to 8 pounds and #2 would've been upwards of 10/11 pounds.
#1, 39 weeks, 5lbs 11oz. #2, 40wks 3days, 7 lbs 8oz. #3, 39 weeks, 8 lbs 5 oz.
#1- 8 lbs 13 oz 12 hrs of labor and finally c- section she was born on her due date
#2- 8 lbs 11oz scheduled c-section 3 days before due date.
I was 7 lbs and my husband is a twin and both babies were somewhere in the 8 lbs mark.
My first two gals were just over 7 lbs... Two weeks ago I had a baby boy just at 8 lbs.
I've been fortunate
My first baby was one week late exactly and he was 8.15... the doctor joked that they just cleaned him off too much~ cuz they were betting how much he would weigh when in the delivery room and he had guessed 9 lbs!
Seven years later, I had my daughter and she was 16 days late!!! (They don't let you go that long anymore, thank goodness for you young moms still of child bearing age!) And she was 10.7!!! almost ten and a half pounds!!! But then again, she cooked a little longer.
Funny how they seem to weigh more and all around growing them bigger now days... I remember when the average weight for a baby was about six or seven pounds and the average W.'s shoe size was about six and now it is eight or nine! What's going on here?? lol.
Oh and by the way, I had both naturally and with my son... after 20 hours and 3 hours pushing, they had given me demerol half way through and I had a hard time pushing so with my daughter, I had nothing and pushed her out in 15 minutes all naturally!
Wow, my son was a week early 7lbs 11.9oz.
and YEAHHHH New Baby! Nice pictures too mama - hope you did not buy any newborn clothes/diapers!
Good question!
Koryn was 2 weeks early and was 7 lbs 1 ounce.
Aron was 4 days early and was 8 lbs 7 ounces.
Kelci was 3 days late and was 7 lbs 8 ounces.
Our son was 9 lbs 1.5 oz.
He came exactly on his predicted due date and was born vaginally after 36 hrs labor.
My D was born on her due date and Weighed 6 Pounds, 3 Ounces.
Both of my girls were 6 days late. The first was 7lbs 15oz and my second was 9lbs 1oz. My first I had an epidural and I thought that hurt. My second at 9lbs came so fast there wasnt time for anything and damn did that hurt but the recovery was so much nicer the second time without the drugs
My first was 7lbs 12 oz and the second was 8lbs 5oz. I considered that pretty normal and average. The first was a week early and the second was two weeks early. I have friends, though, who naturally gave birth to 10 and 11 lb babies! My grandmother gave natural birth to my uncle who weighed almost 13 lbs -he was 12.9! Of course none of her 5 babies came in under the 10 lb mark, so I guess she was used to it -if you could ever get used to that sort of thing.
6lbs 12oz
According to my dates he was 1 day late. According to the ultrasounds dates he was 13 days early. Since I know when my last period was (It was the day before Justin and I went to a rock concert. I remember cause I was really hoping to have some X rated fun after that concert.) and since I know when we had sex (About 2 weeks after the concert on our 1 year anniversary) I still think that my dates were correct.
