A.G.
Mine were exactly the same size! My first was 5 weeks early, and my second was 3 weeks early. They both weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. They would have been huge if they had gone to term!
My son was 9 lbs 8oz when he was born. I am expecting a baby girl in August, keep wondering if she will also be a big baby.
Mine were exactly the same size! My first was 5 weeks early, and my second was 3 weeks early. They both weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. They would have been huge if they had gone to term!
My first was 7lbs and my second was 10lbs. After the second one I decided it was time to stop. I was not about to test to see if they were going to continue getting bigger with each one. The third one could have ended up being 13lbs!!! or more!!! By the way the 10lb one was a much easier delivery then the 7lb one.
My first was 2 weeks late and only weighed 6lb 14 oz. (boy)
#2-5 were exactly 1 week late and were 7lb 14oz (boy), 7lb 11oz (boy), 7lb 11oz (girl), 8lb 13oz(girl)
#6 was 3 days late and weighed 7lb 8oz (girl).
So, birth order doesn't have to dictate size increase, although it often does.
My first was 8lbs 6oz, my second was smaller at 7lbs 9oz (but she WAS 2 weeks early) so presumably she *would* have been 2lbs heavier had she not been that early. My third was 9lbs 2oz. It was like pushing out a watermelon. I heard they get progressively bigger, but I doubt that's always true...
mine were: boy 8lb 2oz, girl 5lb 2oz (but multiple heart/lung defects), boy 7lb 12oz. My weight gain was: 16lbs, 20lbs, 22lbs? (I think).
my sister's were: girl 8lb 12oz, boy 9lb 8oz, & girl 9lb 14oz. My sister gained: 40lbs, 45, & 55lbs. I hate her....3 kids & still wears a size 3! :)
I think weight gain has more to do with it than anything else.....
Bigger....
My 1st was 6 lbs 14 oz. My 2nd was 7 lbs 7 oz. My 3rd was 6 lbs 7 oz.
Small, Bigger, Smallest.
My first was 3 weeks early... 6lb. 1 oz. She turned into a butter ball...wearing 18 mos. clothes at 9 mos. of age.
Baby number two was ripe and weighed 7lb. 7 oz. She will be 2 this weekend and wears her sissy's old 18 mos. clothes.
Just remember usually those larger babies eat more and sleep longer! :) My babies ate every 1.5 -2 hours for months....
All four of my kids were a week late. One, three and four were all eight pounds seven ounces. Number two was eight pounds. So far as I can tell there is no correlation between birth order and size.
Mine were all progressively smaller, probably because each was born earlier than the prior one. My first was 9.2 at 42 weeks, 2nd was 8.12 at 40 weeks, 3rd was 7.5 at 39 weeks and my twin birth the babies were 5.11 and 6.5 at 37 weeks.
Congrats on your baby girl - hope you have a great pregnancy and delivery!
first baby- 37 weeks, girl- 6 lb 11 oz
second baby- 40 + weeks, 8 lb 12 oz
third baby- 40 + weeks, 8 lb 2 oz
I think baby 1 would have been around 8 lbs if she was on time. Girls are usually a little bit smaller, but on target.
My twins were 8lbs 7oz and 7 lbs 13 oz. My daughter was 10 lbs 7 oz.
My friend's first was 9lbs 9oz and her second was 8lbs 5 oz.
It's different for everyone.
My first boy was 2 weeks late and weighed 9lbs 5oz. My second boy was 1 day early and weighed 8lbs 13oz. How are you measuring so far?
My 1st (boy) was 9lb and 11oz
my 2nd (girl) was 6lb and 6oz
my 3rd (girl) was 6lb and 11oz
2nd and 3rd labor were so easy compared to 1st I was out of hospital in less than 24 hours after giving birth. In my case, my boy was the largest. he is 7 and still in over 100% for weight and height.
Each one seemed to get smaller and smaller. I also gained less weight with each.
Mines have been all over the place as far as weight...my first was tiny (6 lbs. 5 oz., 36 weeks)...the two after that were 8 lbs. 2 oz. (39 weeks) and 7 lbs. 4 oz (37 weeks)....then my last was 6 lbs. 0 oz. (38 weeks). Most people I've talked to said theirs progressively got bigger...my husband was 2nd to last in his (large) family...he was 11 pounds, his younger brother was 11.5. I'm due in August too - it's gonna be a hot summer! Good luck!
1st was 8 lbs 7 oz. Second was bigger - 9 lbs 7 oz (at almost 42 weeks) both were boys.
THIRD was a girl - she was my smallest and born only 5 days past her due date and weighed 8 lbs 5 oz.
my first was 9lbs 7oz. on my second doc induced me 3 weeks early because I was measuring 9lbs on the ultra sound but she was 7lbs. 12oz.
My son was 3.6kg (I think that's around 8 pounds) and my second (my daughter) was only 2.5kg (around 1 pound!).
As you can probably tell from all the answers, there's no way to know for sure!
Congrats on your daughter-to-be .... she'll be awesome no matter the size!
My first daughter was 7lbs 15oz and my second daughter was 9lbs 1oz. Both were 6 days late
Good Luck and Congrats
Keep in mind that boys are usually bigger than girls - not definitely but usually
smaller by a whole pound
I have 3 kids, they all were bigger than the last but all boys.
Mine were exactly the same 7lbs 15oz and 21 inches. My first was 2 weeks late and my second was right on time.
My first was 6 weeks early and 5.25 lbs.....my second was 3 weeks early and 8 lbs.
A lot of people say subsequent babies are bigger. Mine were.
baby #1: 5lbs 13oz @ 37 weeks
baby #2: 7lbs 3oz @ 38 weeks
baby #3: 7lbs 3oz @ 39 weeks
My 1st was 5 weeks early and was still 7 lbs. 8 oz :) My youngest was 2.5 weeks early and 8 lbs. 14 oz. (both boys)
Bigger, 8lbs 1oz. and second 8 lbs. 5 oz. both full term. Good luck!!!!
Daughter #1: 5lbs ____@____.com weeks 5 days
Son #2: 6lbs ____@____.com 6 days
My 4 were........ 6 lbs 14 oz, 8 lbs 12 oz, 7 8 1/2 oz, and 7 lbs 9 oz......
The last two were maybe a week early, so they could have added 1/2 lb more.....
Both my kids were over 8 pounds and 21" long.
I have a boy and girl.
And they both were born early.
My babies got progressively bigger:
#1 7 lbs. 5 oz. (1 week early)
#2 7 lbs. 11 oz (3 weeks early)
#3 8 lbs. 12 oz (2 weeks early + gestational diabetes)
2nd baby was a half ounce heavier and a half inch shorter than my first.
my first 3 kids were in the 7'4, 7'6, & 7'4, my last was 8'6....i went from 0 cm to 10 cm dilated in 40 minutes, no meds (not intentional, just not enough time)
My first was 10.12 and my second 11 even. And they were both almost 2 weeks early. Congrats and good luck!
DC1- 37 weeks (induced) 9 lbs 1 oz
DC2- 39 weeks 7 lbs 11 oz
DC3- 39 weeks 10 lbs 6 oz
My first was 7lbs 4 oz, my 2nd was 9lbs, and my 3rd was 9lbs 10z :)
my second was smaller but she was a scheduled c-section, my oldest was a week overdue.
Bigger - 1st was 7lbs 1oz 21 inches
- 2nd was 7lbs 2oz 21 inches
All mine were virtually the same but yes each one was a tad bit smaller, but I carried my first the longest. My first was 7lb 14oz, second 7lb 11oz, third 7lb 8oz. I think since my first was induced at 41wks and my next two right at 40 is the reason for this. Most people I know are this way, their babies all tend to be the same. My MIL has 5 and they were all 6lbs and some change and she had them all vaginally with only one induction. My hubby was actually her smallest baby out of he and four sisters, go figure, he is a big dude today :) Most people I know have babies of similar weights, so I would say if you go about as long in the gestation of your baby, you can probably expect a similar sized baby. Good luck and congrats!!
My first was 6lbs8oz and my second was 8lbs13oz!
My first son was 7.1 and my 2nd son was 8.2
Virtually identical, 7lbs, 14 oz (@ 40 wks) vs. 7lbs, 12 oz (@ 38 wks)
Skinnier - 1st was 20.5 inches and 7lb 10oz
2nd was 20 inches but only 6lbs 13 oz.
Second baby was smaller but only by 9 oz. Both were girls born at full term.
My two boys were within 2 oz of each other--8 lbs and 8 lbs 2 oz.
My first was 2 weeks early at 7 lbs 9 oz and my second was 1 day early at 7 lba 3 oz.
All my babies were born bigger than the last.
Every pregnancy and every baby is different. I know of people who had babies each bigger than the rest but I was not one of them. My son was 1st (7 lb 15.5 oz) and my daughter was next (6 lb 10 oz)...girls do tend to be smaller than boys but that is not an absolute.
My son's dad has a cousin...their oldest was HUGE (I believe close to 11 lbs...his nickname was TANK because he was a big kid too). Their daughter (youngest) was much smaller.
7lbs 9oz, 8lbs 6oz, 7lbs 4oz
All boys, all full term. My second boy is by far still the biggest.
My first son weighted 1/2 oz more than my second son. Odds are my second son would have weighted the same had he not pooped on the way to the scale. They were both the same exact length. We joked our kids only came in one size.
My third child, my daughter, was a pound-something less then my 2 boys and I think 2 inches shorter.
I have to admit I can't remember exact numbers, I'd have to look them up. The boys were just under 8 lbs and my daughter was just under 7 lbs though. I think the boys were 21 inches maybe, making my daughter 19 inches maybe. But you get the idea.
Bigger by 2 pounds but my first was a preemie.
