We like to run, kayak, or ride bikes together. :) It's fun to go to a movie but then you don't get much of a chance to talk. We love also to go to a bookstore and coffee shop together. Live music at a small venue is always great too!
So, my hubby and I were talking last night. We have 3 kids--8, 4, 1. I'm a SAHM & run a home daycare. Not to mention, my 8yr old is in football & my hubby coaches. This requires practice 3x a week for 2hrs at night, plus Saturday morning games!! So, needless to say, things are quite busy here at times!! We have decided that WE need to take more time out together. Nothing fancy, or expensive, just time away to relax, talk, maybe grab a drink. We have a wonderful sitter nearby that has pretty open availability, and she LOVES my kids!! So, my question is this...what do you & your significant other do to have fun?? I'm thinking maybe once every other week--just go for a couple hours and be together.
I'm very excited to see what kinds of things you all do!!
Thanks in advance!!

Usually we do our "dates" at home after the kids are in bed because a sitter isn't always in our budget. We cook a fun dinner together and watch a movie, play a board game, or sometimes play video games together which is the ulimate way to show love to my husband :). If we do get to go out, we like to go to a farmer's market, a book store, the movies, a walk by the river, to the beach, or dinner. One thing that I want to do sometime is to start our date with $10 with the rule that we have to eat and do something for entertainment with only $10. I think getting creative to go cheap would be fun and we might find something we really enjoy that we wouldn't have thought of otherwise.
On the rare occasion we have a babysitter, we like to go to a concert (usually small scale, like a small band or musician we like at a local cub), grab food to go and sit by the lake eating and talking, drinks with friends, shopping, movies, nicer restaurants...basically things that we can;t do with our little one.
Also, we have started date night at home! Once a week, after our little guy is in bed, we will have a planned date night at home, usually in our basement! Last week, we set up a blanket on the floor, munched on chips and salsa together and played board games. I guess we could do this any time, but calling it a date and all makes it fun! I don't know the layout of your house, kids' sleep routines, etc. but you could consider how to get them all to bed (maybe the 8 year old can have his own special movie night in his room with special treats or something while the others are sleeping) and you and hubby can have a fun night at home just for you! There's lots of cool ideas online for these at home date nights - check them out!
Our ex's have our kids every other weekend so we have NO kids and can do whatever we want! Our fav is to go to movies and to eat. We always go before noon to the movies because its only $5 and then we usually eat lunch somewhere. we have also gone bowling and in the winter when it isn't so hot here, I will make a picnic and we go lay at the park by the lake and make out. =)
we dont very often but we enjoy the batting cages. Hubby sometimes umpires at the park where they have them so sometimes they will just turn on the machine for us. Great for getting out aggression too!

My hubby is in a band and about once a month I'll go rock out with them while DD has a sleepover with gramma and grampa! It's a win-win for all. We get to spend time together, sleep in and are that much more refreshed (though maybe a dinch hungover) for DD!
