What are the top preschools in Long Beach? Thank you!
I had my kids at a preschool that I loved until they changed directors. I've heard that Parkcrest Christian church has an excellent preschool but is only half day. All my friends love it. The teachers have been there forever which is a good sign especially if they love their job/career. Good luck to you.

well, it totally depends on WHAT type of preschool you are looking for! montessori, reggio emilia, developmental/play based, waldorf, faith based, etc. as a former preschool director at a popular preschool in long beach, I encourage you to do research first as to which type of preschool will best suit your family's beliefs and child's needs. also, what type of program are you looking for: full day or half day? if you want more specific information on types of preschools and the benefits of each, feel free to contact me.
My kids went to First Baptist Church of Lakewood (technicallly it's in long beach, but on the border) They have preschool through middle school. I was very impressed with the program. For my kids it was the perfect mix of academic, developmental, and just enough faith to encourage a warm loving nurturing atmosphere. I think the sign on the front is "lakewood family church" but it's still the same school. We were very happy there. They offer 2, 3 and 5 day a week options. Definitely worth checking out if it's not too far geographically.
The Alpert Jewish Community Center has an amazing pre-school. You do NOT have to be Jewish to attend. They have lots of options, after school classes and many programs for the whole family to get involved in. Check out the website.

Hi! Both of my children went to the "teddy bear school" on Palo Verde Avenue and Willow. I think the actual name of the school is Palo Verde Avenue Christian Church or something along those lines. They are not preachy about religion or anything. My kids are a little older now, but when they went they had a Tues/Thurs program and a Mon/Wed/Fri schedule. It was a great start for my kids. They also have a Kindergarten prep class. I believe they also have a program where they can stay through lunch if you need some extra time or your child just wants to stay longer. Hope this helps.
