P.M.
My daughter bought one as her Christmas present. Neither she nor her husband liked it-extremely hot.
Does anyone have any experience with the Tempur-Pedic Mattress? If so, what are your opinions?

Totally, totally, totally worth the money! I was a skeptic, but after years of back pain, we had to make a change! I still don't like the pillows, but the mattress is AMAZING!
A hotel at S. Padre Island (near Brownsville) replaced their former mattresses with them. The comfort was amazing!!
We love ours as well NOW...but it did take me a while to get used to and be ready when you first get one they do smell and that bothered me at first so I did not even try to use the pillow. The smell does go away though. I had trouble getting used to it at first and thought maybe we made a huge mistake but when I was able to sleep through the nights again without back pain waking me up I was thrilled that we bought it. It is hard to make such a decision while having 10 min in a store to try it out but we are pleased with our purchase.
We got ours back in Feb. It was the best purchase I've ever made. We got the Rhapsody and OMG We love it. I am a horrbile sleeper and I can actually get to sleep with this. My husband has back problems and he loves this mattress. Well worth the money. I will say this though they didn't warn me about how hard it is when u first buy it. After a week though it started doing it's job and also it has a weird smell for the first 2 days, but honestly it goes away.
Love it. It is great for my back problems.
We checked it out at the mattress store when we were shopping earlier this year. It was just plain weird to me. I felt like I just sunk in & couldn't move. I'm a bit overweight, but fairly average size at 5'4" & size 14, and I felt like I just fell into a whole. I can't imagine someone heavier being comfortable on it. My hubby had to help haul me out! LOL
My parents tried out a friend of their's tempurpedic overnight & said they didn't like it cause it was just too hot- there was no air circulation.Of course, now they advertise those with more circulation.
My in-laws got one a few years ago and love it, but my MIL (who is normally very reserved & private) horribly embarrassed my hubby by telling him it's just awful for sex b/c there's no bounce to it or something like that. I just died laughing!
We have them in our house and love them. It took a few nights to get use to it and now I have trouble sleeping on anything else. I sleep great when my son lets me.
Couldn't get used to it. I would try it before I spent the money. We have the sleep number bed and have loved it since day one. This summer it will be 10 years since we purchased it! We had to get something for my husband's back pain. They have a 30-day money back guarantee.
We just wanted a good quality mattress. We contemplated getting a tempur-pedic for a couple of years and we finally got it. After 4 yrs it still feels the same to me as day one. Although my husband says it has given a little where he sleeps... but we do try to switch sides. It does take some getting used to so don't be worried if you dont like it at first. The pillows are good too we have had two sets. Unfortunately, our dogs got to them and we quit spending the money on them.
Well worth the money.
We got one about 8 months ago and love it. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to it. I found myself waking up everytime I rolled over aware that I was sinking back down into the bed. I'm totally over that now and sleep solid all night. I love not having a stiff neck and sore back when I wake up. I'm a side sleeper and my husband is a belly sleeper and it works for both of us since it just conforms to your body.
The smell is strong at first but I just washed my sheets more often. We are very pleased with our purchase and recommend it to anyone. I believe you can sleep on them for 30 days with out penalty at the Mattress factory.
I got mine about 10 years ago and it was wonderful. Unfortunatly I did not get it in my divorce and ever since I have not slept as well. Would love to get one again for sure when I am ready to have the money to buy one. Worth the money for sure.
Love my temperpedic. I have had some frieds that have tried the Ikea brand and they are very much happy, and it was way less than mine.
We opted for a ComforPedic instead of a Tempurpedic - the company branched off from Tempurpedia and worked to improve some of what they considered to be flaws with Tempurpedic.
LOVE IT!!! I'd highly recommend either one to anyone.
I don't sleep that much better than before, but one of the main issues, feeling my husband move around all night has pretty much been eliminated.
OMG! i have a tempur- pedic, i got it in february and it does wonders!! they should call it the wonder bed! lol... i have had back trouble at the site of my eperdural and it helps take alot of the pain away. i have got to give it a 3 thumbs up! lol. they may be expensive but it is so worth it!
I guess I'm in the minority, but I hated it. I slept on one for a week or so at a relative's house, and couldn't actually sleep. I don't know what it was, I just felt "stuck" every time I got on it. Maybe it would have been better if I had slept on it longer, but I don't want to buy one and chance it. It stinks, because I was excited to try it, having wanted one for a long time to help with back pain. I would recommend seeing if there is some kind of guarantee/return policy.
I have to admit it took me about 2 weeks to get used to it and get a good nights sleep. But having said that, I also had a ton of stress in my life at the time, so it may not have been the bed at all. Now I love it!
But my dear husband has slept like a baby since night 1!
And we haven't tried the glass of wine test but I can tell you that in the past when he would turn over he kinda flopped and it usually woke me up. Now I kinda feel some movement but it's more him pulling the covers as he turns that wakes me up now. He swears he doesn't feel anything if I turn or get up.
My mother has one before so I tried on and I love it.. I have back pain , very hard to choose a mattress, I know that tempur pedic is the one, but so expensive, then we bought the costco brand ( just like generic)...was ok for the price..My back was getting better until I got pregnant w/ my 1st...so decided to get a tempur pedic. Now we love it. We bought a KING size since my husband want the baby co sleeping w/ us... To be honest, my little one loves it too...LOL...
I think worth money to us...maybe others don't think so...
So if you can afford, then go for it..but try to go online and sign up, they will send you a coupon w/ FREE 2 pillows, 2 or 3 ??years FREE interest ( not so sure). FREE shipping.... They just sent to us, but I threw it away..if you do interest, I will keep in mind. When they send out, I will give it to you... Also, there are some local stores, they will match coupons..
We love our Tempur-pedic. My husband has a bad back and needs a firm mattress, when I was pregnant with our first child I had to sleep in a different bed since the mattress we had was so hard and uncomfortable for me. We bought the Tempur-pedic when #1 son was about 4 months old since I was still waking up sore every morning. It has been great, during my second pregnancy I was able to actually sleep with my husband and neither one of us have aches in the morning. It did take us both about a week or so to get used to it but we will never go back to a regular mattress.
Yes, we have one. We got ours about 2 years ago, and we LOVE IT. It is exactly like the commercials say it is. We had a pillow top mattress before, that killed my back. Now my back does not hurt ever when I get out of bed. Definately worth spending a little extra money for.
