Does anyone know of a great swim instructor who does lessons at their house in the Allen or McKinney or Plano area? Im looking for someone who can teach my 4 year old to swim and I have already tried the classes through the city etc.

I haven't tried this site, but www.clubswim.com is supposed to find teachers in your area who will come to your house. Let us know if that works!
Mike Howes in Mckinney. He taught all 3 of my girls...promises to have them swimming after 4 lessons and he does...need access to a pool...he's in the Stonebridge Directory if you have one...
Just more recommendations for you to consider.... We used Mimi Connor (www.swimmersbymimi.com) for the last two years with my boys 2.5 years and 4 at that time. She lives Plano (Coit/Hedcox). We loved her - I loved that everytime the boys came back to the side/wall, they were swimming under the water. We traveled from west Frisco too - if that tells you how much we loved her.

I have twin boys, and I was desperate to have them swim.
My boys have a friend at school whose mother is a swim instructor, and she teaches them at her home. She said she would have the twins swimming in 8 days. I didn't believe her at all. But let me tell you, they were!! I was in disbelief. I was amazed. She is a lifesaver! She lives in Plano. Her name is Louise Sham and her phone number is ###-###-####. Call her, you will not regret it. I had the boys in classes with the city and the rec. those didn't work. She does!!

I don't know how far a drive it is for you, but I am taking my daughter to a woman in Murphy. She was recommended by a mom in McKinney who is driving her kids down here for the second summer in a row, so it must be worth it! Her name is Sherry Salvatore and she is a swim coach for the city of Richardson but offers classes in her home for 3-12 year olds. She has 2 week sessions all summer long, with 3 levels of swimming ability. Her number is ###-###-####.
Go to the local Y and inquire if any of the instructors would come to your house for a particular price.
Check out Emler at Park/Ohio in Plano. They do an awesome job, and the only allow a maximum of 4 children per class. Their summer program is starting 2nd week of June, but they also offer some summer swim camps.
My 6 yr old son loves Emler, and his instructor Ms. Colbea.

I have heard absolutely wonderful things about McKinney High School. You can look up the number on the internet but they have several classes at several different times. The promise to have children swimming by the end of the course. My 2 girls are taking the very first week of summer. Good luck!
