This may just be the silliest (dumbest whatever you want to call it) question. Do diapers go bad? My son had sensitive skin and couldnt use a pack of size 5 diapers (this was well over a year ago, closer to 2) and i still have them. I was wondering if I can use those on my daughter since she doesnt seem to be as sensitive to generic diapers. Do they loose the ability to absorb or are they like honey they just dont go bad.

What can I do next?

Go ahead and use them! We moved a year ago, and recently while unpacking some stuff from storage, I came across an unopened package of diapers that we had put away when my daughter finished potty training. I am now using them on my son, and they seem just fine.

I really don't think that diapers go bad like food. I have always saved the diapers from my older children to use when the younger one finally fits into them. I have even passed on diapers to another mom that needed that size when my little ones outgrew them. For me I think that anytime you can save money on the diapers, then try and do it. If you find that she is having problems after a few, then stop using them. Good luck

We're currently using Pull-ups from 2.5 years ago with no problem. I say, if you can save the money, go for it. We have diapers that we're holding onto from 2.5 years ago, that we plan to use for the baby due in 10 days, since the middle guy is allergic to them.

As long as their are in their pack I would say not.
It isn't a silly question at all. I did the same as a friend of mine's son was potty trained and she passed down some diapers for my son when he was big enough, I had them for six months before he got into them and they were fine.

What about an open package of diapers? i have a few opened packages of various sizes. i would like to save them for my next baby, even though i am not currently pregnant but hopefully will be by the end of this year. i had a feeling that some diapers crystallize and become "crunchy" therefore do not absorb, but please let me know if i'm wrong. if i can use them in the future, i would love to save the money and do that. However, if i cannot i would like to give them away to someone who can use them now.

As far as I know they don't go bad. My friend gave me some of her diapers when her daughter potty trained and I used them a year and a half later without any problems.
