I had the same problem with my son. I use the pampers too. So I bought Huggies overnights to try and their great. Thier more absorbent and haven't leaked at all. So you could try those.
My thirteen month old son sleeps from 8pm until 8am. He's in the same diaper (Pampers Cruisers) all night and lately his diapers have been leaking. I'd say they probably leak 5 nights a week. It doesn't disturb his sleep but it's really annoying to have to change his clothes first thing in the morning and to have to change his sheets everyday. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)
Thank you all SO much for the quick response!! :) We've used the Huggies Overnites for two nights and so far they've done their job prefectly. It's such a relief! Thanks again!

We use Pampers Cruisers too for my daughter. As soon as they started leaking we went up a size. She is just over 2 now and in a size 6. Maybe 1 leak in about 8 months (she pulled diaper side off). Maybe it's different with boys?
Huggies are the best diapers on this earth. I have used them since my son was 4 months old...he is now 2. They absorb the most for the longest. I always get the ones in the red package as they are less bulky. Good luck.
I use Nature Babycare from diapers.com on my 2 year old daughter. They old a TON...even more than Huggies overnights. They are billed as eco-sensitive, but really hold a lot!! HTH.
diaper doublers available at most any store where diapers are sold, if you can't find that then purchase a package of cloth diapers and fold one into the diaper at night prior to bedtime
Hey there...well I found that I had the same problem with those diapers as my now 16mth old got bigger, so I just switched diapers, and the funny thing is that the HEB, diapers, are working better..lol..
Hope it works for you..

I use huggies nightime diapers. The diapers work great! Never no leaks!!!!
I use the Huggies Overnight with my 12 month old son. We have been using them for a while now and they seem to do the trick. You can find them at most retailers, just look for the Overnites. They are suppose to be extra absorbent.
J.
The same thing happened to my son. I started using Huggies Overnights at night. I think they are in a purple package. They are more expensive than regular diapers but if you only use them at night and they work you won't have to do so much laundry!
Good Luck

Looks like you have a TON of replies...but I am not going to read through them all. We had the same problem with my little one...and we switched to the Pampers Baby Dry at night...and Cruisers during the day. That worked for us when it was obvious that she didn't need a bigger size.
My son also leaks in the cruisers & baby dry over night so we bought the huggies Overnights. They're a lot thicker & more absorbent. Haven't had a leak since! Good luck :]
Same problem with both of mine, not only did I switch to Huggies overnite, but I also use a generic inexpensive diaper one size larger over the huggies at nite. Works like a charm!
My neighbor did that with her little ones and she told me about it and it has been great not changing the bed every morning.
My daughter went through a time like that. The Huggies Overnights worked wonders. It was a pain to buy two different kinds of diapers, but they saved me the pain of having to change and wash sheets everyday. You could also try moving up a size if you think your son is close to that time.
Yes, switch him to Huggies, Natural Fit. They are awesome and NEVER leak! I wonder sometimes how they don't because my daughters diaper will weigh 10 lbs. when she wakes up, but NEVER leak once! Pampers are horrible, I tried tehm for a few days a log time ago and they leak everywhere Personaly, I wonder how they stay in business they are so horrible, but they do. But seriously, try it for a week and I bet you will be in love!!
I also use the Huggies overnight diapers, but even they sometime leak.
Try the Pampers Baby Dri....that's what we use at night and they seem to hold in the pee better...also, maybe go up a size for night time??
Just a suggestion. Good luck.

Hi J.!
I have 4 kids and my youngest is just 15 months old. Every time my kids started having leaky diapers on a regular basis, I would bump them up to the next size and that always took care of the problem. Hope that helps! :)

Hi J.,
I had problems with my son's diapers leaking too. You might try the next size up for the nighttime. Also, I found if he slept with a onsie on the diaper would always leak because the onsie was holding the diaper snugger against his body. I use the Pampers BabyDry, and since I figured out the onsie thing haven't had any problems since. Otherwise, you may want to check his diaper before you go to bed and change it if it is full. Good luck!
I know when I daughter used pampers, she too leaked at night. We switched to Especially for Baby, the Babies R Us house brand and we have never had a leak.
Put one diaper on, tear a big hole in that diaper crotch, put another diaper on.
My son had the same problem beginning at about 6 months. I started using Huggies Overnights. They are a little bulky, but my son doesn't seem to mind and we rarely have problems.
Around that age, I changed my son's diaper brand to LUVS brand. They are cheaper, but also more absorbent than Pampers. They don't hold up as well as Pampers do durring the day when your toddler is walking around (if the diaper is wet, it will TOTALLY SAG in the middle) but for night time, they are great!!
We use Huggies overnights and they work really well.
We had the same problem, so we buy Huggies Overnight Diapers and turn them backward and put it over our 2 yr olds regular diaper at bedtime. She sleeps on her stomach so it leaks out the front top. We buy a size bigger for the nite diapers. We also order them online thru Amazon.com, free shipping, no tax and they are delivered to your door monthly if you subscribe for that free service. So we never run out.
Hope this helps. Laura
When this happened to us we decided it was a sign to go up a size in diapers. That worked for us! (And for awhile after that we kept using size 3 for day and then 4 at night to save a little money because you know every time you go up a size you get fewer diapers for more $!)
We used pampers when our son was a few months old and we found they leaked when he was sleeping. We switched brands. We go to Sams and buy Huggies brand and it works great. Also cheaper by the cost per each diaper. We tryed Wal-mart brand and found the same thing. They also have things that tie on to the crib that is like a little blanket or cover that protects leaks from getting the mattress but you still have to wash that every day. !!! Good luck.
My older son had this issue. They make inserts call diaper doublers that you can put in his diaper to increase the absorbancy. They sell the disposable cotton ones at the grocery store in the diaper section.
I have done this with both of my kids...a girl and a boy. Put him in the next size up diaper. My kids both wore Pampers Cruisers and I just put a larger diaper on at night. Never had a leak with either of them. Just make sure you close it snugly in the front. Good Luck!
I have not used them, but I know that they do make a diaper insert for the night...Babies R'Us sells them.
Invest in a package of cloth diapers and fold one to look like a Kotex pad and put it inside the diaper. The fold makes several layers of cloth that's very absorbant.
Hi J.,
Lately I have been very disappointed with the quality of Pampers cruisers and I told them so. Huggies supreme was working for my son, but then they gave him a bad rash. We are now using G diapers. They are great. His rash is almost gone and his bed stays dry.
I switched to Luvs. My guy doesn't sleep quite 12 hours yet, but the Luvs aren't leaking like the Pampers.
Good luck. This problem stinks. haha
Try Good Nights. Walmart carries them. Good luck!
I had the same problem. I would change his diaper in his sleep before I went to bed and that helped, and we also switched to huggies and they hold a lot more. Now we do not have to change him in the night.
There are nighttime diapers and they work great!! Huggies makes them and you can usually find them at Target, sometimes Walmart and Babies R Us as well. There are also diaper inserts that you can use - just put it in the diaper for extra absorption. With the nighttime diapers you can use one size larger than he normally wears for a little extra coverage too!
i use the huggies with winnie the pooh on them and they work great it might also be time for a bigger size diaper he might just be going more then the diaper can hold
I can't help you with the clothes but put down an extra sheet under bottom and you should only have to change that when he leaks. And you may try some of those overnight diapers to see if that works better
Switch diaper brands for nighttime at least. ...and I remember a couple of times when moving up to the next larger size also eliminated leaking problems.
I think diapers are a bit like blue jeans...different brands are cut to fit different body shapes best. My son was long and thin...Pampers were the best until he was about six months old...after that they always leaked...but Huggies (that didn't fit him well when he was younger), were perfect for him after six months. My nanny's daughter (same age) was small and chubby...Huggies were too restrictive but Pampers were perfect for her. ...other friends had similar experiences with other brands. In short, I think trial and error is the key.
My grandson had this same problem. My son started buying him Cosco brands no more changing clothes in the mornings.GOOD LUCK.
I had this same problem with my son. You can always get those pads to put under him when he sleeps. That will sovle you sheet problem. I also used pampers. I recently changed to Huggies. They are a little more expensive but he doesn't have leaks anymore. If you just put a pamper next to a huggie you will see that huggies are a little thicker and more absorbent. Maybe this will help you. Good luck.
Diaper Doublers - sold at Babies r Us. It's only about $3.00 for 30 of them. You just stick them inside a regular diaper before bedtime.
Pampers makes a Baby Dry version that will hold an incredible amount of fluid (and solids). My son swears by them!
Hi J.,
I have been "double diapering" my son before bedtime since he was like 3 months old...he is one now. He sleeps through the night for the most part and it is a pain to have to change everything every day- I use the pampers cruisers as well and just throw on an extra one. It works for me and no leaks. :) Hope this helps!
I had the same problem with my first son and Huggies overnights are AWESOME!! He never leaked through them! I had 2 boys close together and didnt want to buy 3 different kinds of diapers so for my 2nd son I have been using the vinyl white pants they sell for potty training and put them over his diaper at night...that works pretty well too, but he never leaks through like the first one did.
Also, I use a great sheet you can buy online or at babys r us called The Ultimate crib sheet. It snaps on to the crib over your sheet and has a built in mattress pad, so when they do leak through you just unsnap and wash, you dont have to change the sheets.
Another great tip someone once gave me is that when you do make the mattress, layer with mattress pad, sheet, mattress pad, sheet, etc (I bought 3 of each) so when you do have to change the sheet you can just pull of the top one and the next one is already there!
We had the same problem with Pampers and we switched to Huggies and the leaks stopped. We also put our daughter in a diaper one size bigger than she was wearing for overnight...
Usually when you start having leaks it is time to move up to the next size. Check the weight and see if it is time for that.
My kiddos sleep 12 hours at night too, but my son has always been the leaker and not my daughter. Before pull-ups we would use 1 size larger diaper at night and it seemed to do the trick. We also try to limit his water intake at night, but we aren't always successful. I just felt I would rather deal with the wet bed in the morning and have both my children sleep 12 hours every night.

I would buy a bigger size for him at night. My daughter did the same thing until I bought her bigger sized diapers.
Hi,
I have had the same problem... I started off by letting my son sleep in one size bigger diaper at night, but when that stopped working I switched him to the huggies overnights one size bigger than his daytime diapers.
Hope this helps
Huggies overnights were a godsend for me!
I seem to have the same problem....trying to limit how much they drink close to bed....I usually give my little one water at least 2 hours before bed, being the last drink that he has. He doesnt seem to drink as much (like he does milk or juice)and its better for his teeth. Sometimes he holds it and then while he sleeps will have more fluid. My little one is potty training right now (2 1/2) so I think all day he tries to hold it. Good luck
Congrats on having a sleeper! Look at Babies R Us for some things called "Diaper Doublers" in the diaper section. They go inside the diaper kind of like a maxipad for babies except they don't have any adhesive. They worked like a charm. My sister put a Depends product inside her daughter's diapers at night after she outgrew the diaper doublers. Good luck!
Huggies overnight should do the trick. I have a 13 month old daughter and I use them on her. It is amazing how much they can hold. Some places do not carry these diapers but I have found them at Kroger, Babies R Us, and CVS. I hope this helps and I am really jealous that he sleeps so well. My daughter still wakes up at least once at night and wants to eat :(.
Change pampers and invest in a plastic cover for the bed. My son is almost three and he sometimes wets during the night. I notice this more often when he has something to drink close to bedtime. I use nighttime Huggies pullups. I know it bother you that your baby wakes up wet and we got tired of washing the sheets every morning. After three mornings we went to Walmart and bought the plastic mattress cover. Hope this helps.
I wish I knew too. If you find out let me know!!
Thanks,
Cindy
Huggie Overnights!!! My son is 2 and has been wearing them since he was 15 months. They are a bit pricey, but as you only wear one a night, a pack lasts for about 2 months. My playgroup swears by them.
I had that issue as well, and just bought the Huggies (I think that is the maker) Goodnight's to use during the night.
Have you tried the diapers they make for night time use? I can't remember what brand they are but they night time on them. I had the same problem with both of my children and these diapers helped a lot.
Lisa
They might be too small. I had the same problem w/ my kids. I got them a bigger size and and they were fine all night. Now, they are in the biggest size diaper and they leak at night so I use those pull-ups for night time and they are fine. My kids are 2, 1, & 7 months and the two oldest are on the pull-up night time. Hope this helps.
uuggg! i know how you feel. the only things i could figure to do with my daughter, was plastic panties over her diapers at night. my daughters problem was a big blsadder. shed hold it so long all night and then at some point in early morning shed let it all out at once, im theorising, and over flood her diaper. you can also try getting him really small goodnights or big boys pull ups that are designed for night time, super fast absorbency. good luck.
Babies R Us sells something called diaper doublers...it is almost like a pad that you put into the diaper and it gives "double protection". My sister uses these because her son was leaking almost nightly and she also discovered Huggies overnight with the diaper doubler almost ALWAYS works. Hope this helps and you start having less laundry!!!
D.
I put my dauther (13 mos) in the next size up diaper at night and it helps. She wears a 3 during the day, but 4 at night.
When I put my little one to sleep at about that time, I change her diaper before I go to sleep while she is asleep herself(which is about 10:00). Luckily, she sleeps like a rock once she's down. This will also prolong sleeping time as well. I consider myself a "diaper pro" and the quicker the transaction is, the better...lol.. I hope this helps!
Had the same problem with my girls. We used the Huggies Overnight diapers. It really helped the problem. Good Luck
my dear, I had the same problem with my son. I finally bought huggies overnights. They are wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also just a little foot note, make sure his 'soldier' is tucked down. Let me know how this works.
Howdy!
I had this same problem (with all four kids!) What I found to be helpful is to just go up a size in diapers for nighttime - it didn't always work but most of the time it did!
Take care,
A.
overnight diapers-in the purple package- I think they are huggies
I had the same problem with my son! My son just turned 3 now and I swear by Huggies Overnight. They have worked wonders since before he was one. After having that problem my sister told me about them and they have worked since and now we won't buy anything else for nighttime. It's Huggies Overnights and they are in a white bag with purple lettering. Hope this helps! It really did for us!!
Hello J.! My son had the same issue a few months ago. I think you pretty much have to come up with your own solution for this to help your child and his needs, but this is what helped me....I set an estimated bed time for the evening (depending on what we had going for the day) and reduced the amount of fluids he was getting 2 hours prior to that time. I had a bad habit of letting him keep his sippy cup with him in bed, so I had to break myself and him from that as well. Now we don't have leaky diapers, wet clothes, or wet bed. My friend had the same issue with her little girl and she found it easier to set an alarm to get up at the same time every night in the middle of the night and change her diaper. That sounds like way too much for me so I went with my plan. PLUS YOU CAN STILL USE WHATEVER BRAND OF DIAPERS YOU WANT! It has been great! Good Luck!
Luvs were the best for my daughter.
There is a blue liner called diaper doubler, that might not be the name but they can purchased at babies r us or a store similar to that.
I see that you have had plenty of advice, so here I hope I am not repeating... I recently took my daughter off the bottle and have noticed that she does not have that leaky diaper problem. She used to have feedings through the night and with those feedings meant more wettting. Since she has stopped with those night feedings, she is basically dry in the morning. I hope this helps. PS...sometimes she does wake up for a drink and that is when I have noticed an increase in the diaper in the morning, but nothing like before. Good Luck :)
like most others I use HUggies overnites.
Hi there,
You can get a bigger size, or only for the night time cloth diapers are great!!!
Thanks,
Our baby sleeps for 12 hours at night also. If you like Pampers, you should switch to Baby Dry for night. Also, Huggies Nighttime diapers work really well for us. If you still experience leaks with those diapers, you could try adding a doubler. They sell disposable doublers at BRU. I would fold it in half and place it in the front of the diaper, that way there is more absorbant material where they need it.
Have you tried putting cornstarch in his diaper before he goes too bed?
That always worked with my son when he was little.
My SIL double diapers at nights to avoid this. Maybe it would work for you too?
When she was 1 yr, I didn't use diapers specifically for nighttime. I just bought the next size bigger. So if she was normally a size 3 diaper, she wore a size 4 diaper at night. This worked well and they weren't as expensive as nighttime diapers.
I started using Huggies overnights with my 2yo this past spring/summer (her bladder seemed to start holding more than normal diapers could handle, even the next size up...). However, I have noticed a frequency of yeast infections occurring on her for no reason (as in she isn't on medication when one occurs); I have a feeling that these nighttime diapers may lock in a bit too much moisture and aren't as breathable (especially under PJ's), making the perfect condition for yeast diaper rashes...?
I use the pampers during the day and huggies overnights for the night on my daughter. She had the same problem and I couldn't wait for her to fit into a size 3 so she could use them. They start at size 3 and go up to a 6...I think. She hasn't leaked through these yet!! Hope this helps.
My daughter also slept 12 hr at a time. We bought diapers one size bigger than what she would wear during the day. They are no more expencive, and can be used when he does out grow the current daytime size. I know that it would happen overnight with my DD. It was nice to already have them on hand too.
I'm a little late in responding and I'm sure you've had a lot of response...but...Huggies makes an overnight diaper. The package is different from the regular Huggies package-more purple I think. Anyway they are great-very absorbant and no leaking for us so far. I sympathize with the changing sleepers and sheets every morning!
The same thing happened to my daughter, we just went up a size in diapers and that seemed to do the trick. They were a bit big for her but the overnight leaking stopped.
I highly agree with the recommendation of Huggies Overnights. We have the same issue.
I don't know if this will work for your situation or not, but I use those type of diapers with my daughter and also did with my son. I noticed with them that by the time the diaper was leaking, I needed to go up a size. Most times I didn't even realize the diaper was getting too small until I put the bigger size on. Also, there is nighttime diapers, try those. They have extra absorbancy to help make it through the night.
Get Huggies Overnights (I think, but they are Huggies). They are sometimes hard to find (especially at HEB), but I usually have pretty good luck at Target or Walmart. We used them for my son & now we use night time Pullups. He does occasionally have a leak, but it's pretty rare if I use the night time ones.
Huggies overnight(I use to buy these when he would nurse throughout the night, but now just use the regular ones), I think huggies in general absorb more than pampers, and pampers babydry(?) are the most absorbent of the pampers, cheaper too. I have a 16 month old who also sleeps 8 to 8, and never have a leak.
I'm sure you have already received this kind of advice, but here is my suggestion to you regarding what worked for us. I simply put my son in the next larger size diaper for the night time. Hope that helps.
I am by no means being hatefully, please don't take this response as so.
Have you tried changing his diaper before you go to sleep? Lots of kiddos aren't even bothered by a late-night diaper change and it's better for their skin especially when you consider urine contains ammonia and is not good held against the skin for hours at a time.
Just a thought. If you choose not to take it you should probably go with a size bigger or a night diaper.
When this happened with my son we went up a size in diapers for over night. They will hold more! We also tried the overnight diapers in a bigger size! Good luck! We still have an occasional leak but it is much better!
Hi, My son has had similar problems. If he falls asleep early I usually change his diaper when I go to sleep a few hours later. He is so asleep that he doesn't wake up.. I also like the Babies R Us Supreme Diapers. I've found they don't leak as much as the others.
Good Luck.
I am the mother of 4 children so I might can help you. I have always used Huggies Supreme and I'm a big believer in the night time diapers since I was also lucky that my babies all slept through the night. I also put waterproof pads under between the baby and the sheet and I placed a soft blanket over that. That way on the rare occasion they did soak their diaper and clothes I only had to change out the pad and the top blanket which were only the size of a bath towell. I've done this for them all until they were potty trained and woke up dry on a regular basis. These waterproof pads are available at Target and WalMart and any place that carries baby supplies and they're only about $7-$15 each. Sometimes you can find them in multi-packs. I've even cut them down to fit in their strollers and car seats because those items can get so yucky with all that babies do. I hope this helps save you the trouble of changing sheets all the time so that you are free to enjoy you little baby.
We used Huggies Overnights and they worked great! They can be found every where pampers are sold.
J.
Try Huggies (maybe Pamper...Purple package) Overnights. I use Pampers cruisers during the day, too. But the overnights are great!
