Shattered iPad Screen

I had my screen replaced for $100. It ended up working like new. My husband found a guy near my house that does repairs out of his home.

We got a tiny crack in our tablet across one corner, like from corner pocket to side pocket in pool. Only one side of the crack works now, the small side of course.....

You're lucky if yours in still working. We checked the price of getting ours fixed and the part is more than we paid for it. Take it to a shop that does this, we have a bunch in this area. It's a new career for some people, they just figured out how to get the parts and put them in place. They don't charge as much as an apple store or other place but still, our replacement screen was going to be more than we paid for it.

Hubby dropped his Samsung phone and the screen cracked like crazy but he could still use it. He kept using it for as long as it worked and now he has a Note phone. Kiddo had it in the back seat playing games and fell asleep. Hubby opened the back door to get kiddo out and phone fell out and cracked the screen. Total accident. It still works too so he's not getting it fixed.

We got our tablet at Staples for $149 right around Thanksgiving.

We got the protection plan since we have a 5 year old who plays with ours. The company repaired it.

I had my iphone screen repaired locally (store in Fort Worth) for $50 while I was present. Worked fine.

If you go to an independent place for a repair it voids any warranty on your iPad with apple. My screen shattered and I was able to talk apple down to $150 for a replacement. They don't replace screens they'll just give you a new iPad, which is kind of reassuring because you don't know if any internal damage has been done from the fall.

I had ne repaired, but it doesn.t work properly. We just use that one for movies now.

Call your Apple Store but I suspect your iPad is dead. You could probably buy a 1st gen for less than the repair. May it RIP!

A new screen at the Apple store is prob. going to be 250.00. You may get one at an independent place for less. I shattered my iPhone screen and the Apple store wanted 200.00 to fix that. The independent local place charged 95.00. I went and got a new back cover for my fixed phone. I realized that the edges did not wrap to the front enough. Make sure your cover really wraps around to the front as to protect the sides.

You'll be surprised at how many places there are to take it.

I dropped my iphone on the cement right after Christmas. My husband found a place in the mall nearby us that did them. It took one day and it was like brand new again. It cost around 100 to fix my iphone screen and my phone works great!

I've also heard about mail in places that do it for cheaper. Someone here at work used one and they've had no problems either, I didn't go that route as that would have taken more days.

They did replace my husband's IPhone screen 2 times (he dropped it within 4 days of getting the phone over a year ago and then again last week) and my daughter's IPhone once. They do have a warranty on their work. The IPhone screen with tax was $92.01

Everything works like new and you can't tell anything ever happened. I don't know about the dent though.
