Best Video Game System for 5 Year Old Girl?

Hello everyone, I am wondering if you can help! We are considering getting some kind of video game system for Christmas for our just-turned-5 year old girl. She is in kindergarten and she LOVES playing games on the computer. I would like to get something that she could play on a TV, hopefully with educational games (I'm OK with others, too, but I want some educational ones as options). I have looked at the V-tech system but reviews by other parents seem to be pretty lukewarm (mostly based on the quality of the product), and I'm worried...

Do You Let Your Little Kids Use the Computer?

My oldest is 6 and I dont allow any of them to use our computer. Mainly I just dont want them breaking our laptop. My daughter has computer class at school and thats her first experience with using a computer. I was surprised at how many kids her age were allowed to use a computer at home. Are my kids in the minority?

TV As a Break for Mom?

My son is a VERY active 3 year old. I also have a 3 month old. Anyway, for the last few days, we have not been getting along very well. I say yes, he says no, I say do this, he does that, etc. That kind of thing. I keep sending him to his room to try to break him of disobeying me but it really doesn't seem to be working. This afternoon, he asked me if he could watch TV, which I usually ration out because I don't want him to be a TV zombie.
