Life proof!!' Waterproof shatterproof for the most part! My kids have thrown it hosed it and all is well!
I just got an Iphone 4s and I was hoping some of you could help me out with the accessories. WHat is the best case to get that will protect my phone, even the screen??
Life proof!!' Waterproof shatterproof for the most part! My kids have thrown it hosed it and all is well!
Get a lifeproof case. Way lighter then otterbox and it's water proof, drop proof
I agree with those who say the Otterbox is tough as nails (my husband, who works in construction, has one and it has kept his iPhone safe through many spectacular falls, even off of a roof one time!). However, unless you live a very daring life, that may not be necessary. My daughter and I have Zagg screen covers (lifetime warranty, can't beat that), and Speck covers for our iPhones. My phone has had a few tough falls onto concrete, tile floors, and has been stepped on my my kids, but still keeps trucking along. I picked the Speck cover because I have insurance on my phone anyhow, and for my taste, the Otterbox is pretty big. If you don't have insurance on your phone, then definitely go Otterbox or Lifecase. :)
Lifeproof case here for both the iPhone and iPad. 2yo has chucked it to the floor from the grocery cart and it's undamaged. My family also has them ... Dad and stepmother dropped them in the ocean and the phones are still alive and well. BIL has otterbox and he likes it too, but the 2 yo tossed an iPod touch in the otterbox and shattered the screen. I also think the otterbox is bulkier than the Lifeproof, but it's just my personal preference.
I got an iPhone 4 in November. The first thing I got for it was a hybrid case, the silicone over a hard plastic case type. It seemed like the best choice for me, on account of having two kids (4 and 2). I was so wrong! I cannot tell you how much I hated that case. I am sure it works quite well for other people, but I could not stand the bulk and weight that it added to the phone. I couldn't comfortably keep it in my pocket if I ran somewhere without my purse, it felt awkward in my hand when I was using it. I wasn't comfortable going without a case, so I ordered a silicon case from DX.com, and just waited for it to arrive. It is much slimmer and more sleek. It has given my phone protection from drops that it sustains from time to time.
For the screen protection I just searched iPhone 4 screen protectors, and got the sticky clear plastic adhesive protector thing. I had issues with getting it attached. It always seemed like a speck of dust would get on my screen as I was putting it on, causing a weird bubble. It took me three tries to get one on smooth. If you go that route I would suggest getting a few, if you haven't put them on before.
I hope you find what works for you! There are a LOT of options for iPhone accessories! Have fun looking and finding what you love!
I love my iPhone and I always buy my accessories from
www.hdaccessory.com
They have the best prices and the best merchandise. I currently have this case http://www.hdaccessory.com/servlet/the-10606/iphone-4s-ad...
Even with the shipping these cases are worth it. Congrats on your new phone and getting your accessories from this sight. I will never buy from another. Also note each case comes with a screen protector cover too.
I like the thin zagg screen protector with an otterbox cases. They sell them online and have free shipping sometimes. Also Verizon sell them too.
Get O. of those clear sheets for over the screen. They come 2 in a pack.
My husband has an Otterbox for maximum protection.
I just have a fancy cover....you can but anywhere really.
If you don't want to spend a lot on the life proof case get a Griffin brand case. They sell them at the Apple stores and I think the AT&T stores too. I've had mine ever since the 4s came out and I've dropped it several times even on concrete.
I was always afraid to pick it up and see a shattered screen but it's still in perfect condition. Just make sure you get a case that has raised edges in the front to minimize the impact should you drop your phone.
Just get a screen film to protect the screen. I don't use one but many do. I love the J-crew case. Fits perfectly and really protects. They have a few styles left for the 4s on jcrew.com. You can also try ebay. http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/accessories/funfinds...
I got an Otterbox Commuter for mine. It is tough like the Defender one, but isn't as clunky and not waterproof. It does come with the screen protectors and the screen works great (like the protective sheet isn't even there).
It doesn't add much at all to the size/shape of the phone. I just last week found an armband that I can stick it in (for running/sports) and I don't even have to remove the case first.
If you order a case from amazon I found it to be much cheaper than buying in a store.

I have an Otterbox Defender for my iPhone 5- they make them for the 4s also. It has a built in screen protector. I don't worry at all about dropping my phone. It is the best phone cover I've ever had. My husband, who works in construction, has one also and he loves it- he's typically very hard on his phones and his iPhone is very well protected with this case. They are really expensive in stores (usually $50 or so)- I got ours on amazon for $20.
Otterbox. My husband has one and my brother had one. I say had because he left his phone on the roof of his car. By the time he realized it and went back for it he is not sure how many times it was ran over, but it appears to be a lot. The box was destroyed, he screen cracked, phone still works.
Get a replacement plan/insurance plan and then get any old case you want.
Personally, I hate those big clunky cases (otterbox, etc) and the film interacts with the ease of use (that was my experience).
These things are tougher than you think and I only had to replace my screen once in almost four years (because I drove off with it on my roof and it fell off - LOL!).
So, get an insurance plan and enjoy the phone. That's what I recommend.
