Just wondering if there are any full time working moms in my area to chat with. I will have to return to work only a month after giving birth and I'm nervous about how my husband and I are going to handle being parents and working full time.

What can I do next?

It can be hard at times, but your child will be fine. Their are some great daycare's out there.

Why do you have to return so early? Generally a minimum of 6 weeks is allowed. I know, physically I was not ready to do much of anything at 4 weeks. Do you have child care lined up yet? Most daycare won't take children under 6-8 weeks.

Melissa-

Congratulations on your new love into the world. it is hard to get there sometimes. I am a single mom of a 10 year old boy-

i was working full time until i gave birth- then decided to stay home(since we could afford it) after 6 months of cleaning and cleaning and vacuming EVERYDAY- i went back to work.

i have been working full time for 9 1/2 years and i get complyments on my sons- looks - behavior- and he is very adapted in life.

find a great day care- start looking and visiting them- see there lay out and see how the person deals with kids- if your baby crys more than usual this is a sign.

hope this helps....
if not good luck it will be fine.

Hi there! I have twin 4 year olds and I've worked since they were 6 weeks old. Actually I've been at my job for 17 years. My hubby says when I don't work he won't work. So I guess we will both be working forever. Anyway it can be hard sometimes but getting out of the house can be good somedays.

I work full-time, actually 6 days a week and I have 2 children. The first time I was lucky enough to stay home for 12 weeks, but the second time I had to go back after 6. It was much harder leaving a 6 week old, I just felt that she was too young and still needed mommy to be home. I guess having been through it before and a wonderful daycare made it somewhat easier to adjust. I have to tell you there are some days that I am so glad to go to work! It is nice to just have a break. I know it's working but it's nice to not have to chase the kids around for a bit! It is hard to be away all day but to me it makes the time you have more special. And just to worn you Mondays suck! I always miss my girls more then, after being with them all weekend. Good luck to you and if you ever need anything, let me know!
