www.starfall.com is agood one. It's something my daughter's kindergarten teacher introduced us to.
Also, NY Philharmonic has one for kids that is fun and free.
I think it's www.nyphilkids.org.
My son used to play on Noggin.com all the time, now however he is a bit too old for that site. All the sites I come across are "pay" sites, does anyone know of any free online kindergarten sites for educational games?
Thanks to all for the great suggestions! My son has had a ball trying them out, I have to say I think starfall.com & funbrain.com are really great.

Try www.pbskids.org. There are some younger games, but also some for older kids. Also, http://www.scweb4free.com/index.htm has some games. You may need to help him set up the exercise for his age level.
My daughter is 5 and she loves nickjr.com. They have the games for the shows on there, which are shows for a little older than the Noggin viewers. She still loves her noggin.com though. Pbskids.org is a good one too. My daughter's teacher has this one on her teacher page, but I haven't ever checked it out before: http://www.abc.net.au/children/games/
We've used this one before too, TONS of games on here:
http://www.scholastic.com/kids/games.htm
I checked out a couple other Kindergarten teacher's pages and found these:
http://www.nfpa.org/sparky/arcade.html
http://www.brainconnection.com/teasers/?main=bc/gulp
http://www.netrover.com/~jjrose/abc/alpha1.htm (match upper and lower case letters)
http://www.readwritethink.org/materials/abcmatch/
http://www.kidport.com/Recess/Games/Games.htm
http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/laac/menu.shtml
http://www.primarygames.com/games.htm
http://www.rif.org/readingplanet/gamestation/ (not sure if it is a "pay" site or not, I got some of the games to come up though)
I don't know for sure that all are Kindergarten games, but most of the games looked to be about the age level. Hope this helps!!!
Have you tried www.kids.yahoo.com
Starfall.com is great.
they have a membership option, but my daughter plays the the "free" choice.
I agree with starfall, but I am loving all the other great ideas! Good question! :)
I am just shooting from the hip here...an Elks Lodge or some WVA? Post or a church.
try kidrocket.org. It is a free kid browser that is kid friendly. My boys 4 and 6 (in Kindergarten) love it. They can get to all the kid friendly sites without my help. It is AWESOME.
Yes,funbrain.com and miniclip.com
My kindergarten loves to play on www.starfall.com apperently they play it at school. Also try funbrain.com
The kids do have webkinz(thanks to grandma and friends) and it is a good site to. The downfall is buying the stuffed animals but that is where grandma comes in and buys them one.
starfall.com is a great one, my kids also love pbskids.org
HI,
I'm a Homeschool Mom. I found a great site for my 6 yro son.
It's called Learn To Read At Starfall.
Web: www.starfall.com
There is more than just reading. It is easy for a child use. My son loves it. We've been using it for over a year..
Good Luck! <>< <>< <>< <>< <><
Dear E.:
Not entirely free, but www.webkinz.com costs around $10 for a plush animal and you get 1 year free access to an account. The plush animal is the kid's 'pet' and the online cartoon picture is the virtual pet with similar looks. S/he gets to feed it and play games to earn virtual dollars to buy food, furniture for the pet's room and other things.
If you neglect the pet, its values for food, well-being etc. go down over time, so it teaches a kid to care for a 'living' being, and the games are fun.
Regards,
W.
Hi E....as long as I can remember my son has always enjoyed playing on www.cartoonnetwork.com...he is 9 now and he still plays on there...this is the first site that my son knew how to type on the computer by memory since he was in pre-k...I miss him being little...sob...sob!!
anyways Blessings all around
I keep my best friend's little girl in the summer and she is 7 and likes www.zoogdisney.com for games. My son is too old for this one and my daugther is too young, so your son's age is probably perfect!
disney.com and nick.com have games.
starfall.com is awsome. It teaches letter sounds and has silly animation and stories to reinforce the lessons. I am not making it sound exciting but it is. My daughter loves it. She would play it for hours, if I'd let her.
