I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old. I am looking for some suggestions for websites that are age appropriate. We already go on Playhouse Disney and PBS. Are there other free websites for my children to visit?
I received so many new sites and all within 48 hours after my request. Thanks for all of your help and suggestions!
Again...I have received so many helpful sites. THANKS!

One of children's favorite websites is www.marvelkids.com On that site, the kids can create their own superhero. (Scroll to the bottom of the page, it's a box on the right) My 5 year old daughter had a blast and has probably made 100 heroes so far!

My 11 year old girl and 4 year old boy have both been playing Club Penguin for the last year and a half. They really like it. There is an optional membership but most of the site is free and it's well-monitored.

We do uptoten.com for our 5 year old. It's mostly educational games and music and such. It can be done in French too, and some of it is very weird, but in a way that's only weird to adults--like the music is just completely silly and my husband and I roll around laughing, but my son just likes it. But it's adding and subtracting, sounds, letters, and matching--you can actually choose skills to work on, or characters, or whatever--but my 5 year old can also navigate it fairly well all by himself.

Try Sesamestreet.org. I really haven't let my kids get on the internet that much because they should be outside running around and being kids but when I have let them on the internet this is the only website they have gone to.

Looks like you have a lot to look at! But I wanted to mention kidzui.com...it has a lot of games pulled from various websites, but parents can moniter and sends you an e-mail like every week telling you what your child has been playing. I think it may have kid appropriate videos too. And it's FREE! My 6 year old daughter really likes this site, especially the dress up games. I don't know how much it has for 3 year olds though...

Try the following sites. All are fun and can be adjusted as children age.
That should give you a good start... :) I can tell you my 6 and 8yo love Funbrain and they both loved Nick Jr at 3 and 5...

I let my kids go to www.sesameworkshop.org and click on "games." All the games are educational and appropriate for the 2-7 year old crowd. I also let my 6 year old do Webkins. You have to buy one of the stuffed animals for about $15, then you get a code that gets you a year's access to the website. The kids get to create a virtual world for their pet and can earn "Webkinz" cash to buy their pet things or trade goods and services with other kids online. It's a different kind of educational, but still very important in my opinion.
Seriously, this one isn't free because you have to first purchase a little $10-13 stuffed Webkinz animal but the reward is that for a year (max time per animal) your girls each get their own Webkinz account and it is safe and totally age-appropriate. We also like it because it gives their grandparents an idea when they want to buy them a gift. www.webkinz.com
my kids us this in the schools, and it provides some inactive reading activities and my 4 year old enjoys it too.

There is a ton out there for the age your children are . Crayola has a site out there . If you get your kids webkins they have a cute link to them or shining stars they have a cute link and they are both free for a year once you buy the pet . My husband had my kids hooked up with allot of free websites when they were little not sure all of them but if you google kids games you may find a ton of fun games and things for them to do .
