hello moms out there!!!!!!! we just recently got our computer and internet up and running and we just taught our daughter how to use the mouse on w/ the computer, ever since then, she loves to be on it. she likes to watch old disney cartoons. like the ones i watched when i was a kid. its strange to see those as an adult. but i want to know if there are any free, online, easy and educational games for her. she loves spongebob, disney animal movies, fish, any type of animal things she loves.
thanks for taking the time to read my request and to reply. i am very grateful for any advice.
thank you to everyone who responded to my computer request, and the quickness of it was awesome! within just a few hours of posting it, i was shocked! thank-you. my daughter has truely enjoyed the playhousedisney.com. i don't know why i didn't think of some of those websites. we watch those shows and i hear the "go to our website" stuff all the time. i think it is because we just recently got the internet and i never thought twice about it.
and to those mothers who showed concern about a 3 1/2 yr old being on a comupter, thank you also. that was nice of you to sshow concern. all i can say is that i will moniter her on there and that i wish that i could sit and play a board game w/ her, but she doesn't have the patience just yet. and its hard to do that w/ a 1 1/2 yr old also.
My 3 1/2 yaer old daughter is better on the computer than I am!!! It's scary!!! These are the sites she loves...
www.noggin.com
www.playhousedisney.com
www.pbskids.org
www.sproutonline.com
C.,
I was looking for stuff online for a 2 year old just yesterday. I googled toddler games online and it came up with a bunch. I went to the Fisher Price site and we played for 30 min. He loved every minute of it and he talked nonstop while we played. I hope you find a good one.
I recommend www.pbskids.org....my 4 year old's favorite is WordWorld, he LOVES the show too.
Hi C.
Fisherprice.com taught my 22 month old daugter her entire alphabet! She know capital and lower case too! She has help elsewhere, but it made it so fun that she could spend 30 mins online picking letters. THere are games made for toddlers there too!!
Have Fun!
My niece is 5yrs old and she loves pogo.com
Hi,
Try www.pbskids.org (there might be a hyphen between "pbs" and "kids"). Many of the kids shows have coloring games and other types of games.

C.
try http://www.starfall.com/n/level-a/learn-to-read/load.htm?f
It is a basic phonics tutorial and it will allow your child to grow. Have fun

The PBS kids website has some fun, interactive games that are also educational. The website is PBSkids.org
Try www.nickjr.com and www.noggin.com. Both have fun free games.
Our kids like home.disney.go.com/tv/ but I just wanted to say that the library has so many educational games and living books like Arthur where the computer will read you a story or play a game.
HI
My son is 4 and loves playing online games. His favorite websites are nick.com, nickjr.com, pbs.org and playhousedisney.com. There are so many fun games, videos and activities, ur daughter will have a blast!
Hope this helps:-)

My girls love Zac Browser. Do a web search for it and it will come up. It will disable things like the windows key and the delete key so they can not mess anything up too. It is educational with music, different games and things like that. We introduced it to my 2 1/2 nephew and he loves it too.
My gilrs like the following sites:
nickjr.com
pbskids.com
starfall.com
PBSKids.org is fun and easy to navigate.. perfect for that age..
Hi,
Check out www.babygamer.com. It's a list, with links, to a variety of free online games for infants and toddlers. Many to choose from depending on age and skill level. Have fun!
I highly recommend starfall.com. It was referred to me by a teacher and is great. My daughter loves it.
May be a different kind of advice. I tried to keep my kids away from computers and any kinds of games for as long as possible. I never regreted. I am proud to say I have an 11 y/o who plays games may-be 2-4 hrs month! Beat that. First game he got at the age of 10. He didn't know TV existed until he was 3. My 2 y/o is not watching TV and not playing any games on any kind od computer including kiddy-computers. I am yet to see a game that is educational and stimulates the child the way human interraction does. But choise is yours. I have a friend who is a child therapist and she tells me horror stories about computer and game addictions in kids and all kinds of antisocial behavior.
Good luck.
We like pbskids.org, playhousedisney.com, and nickjr.com as well. Another good one is sesamestreet.com.

I have a huge compilation of bookmarks I have saved in Yahoo that I used when I homeschooled my older daughter for preschool and kindergarten. I can share these with you through email. Private message me w/your email address and I will be glad to send you the links and promise not to spam you w/anything else.

Try www.starfall.com and pbskids.org. great sites.
Check out starfall.com
It's a really great website that you can do together, and that she will be able to grow into doing on her own over the next year or so.
My kids and I love the Jumpstart series. I do not know if it available as an online site though. We always had the discs.
My 3 yr old loves the computer too. In addition to many of the others I see in previous responses we also like www.sesamestreet.org.
Hi C.
My son is also 3 1/2 and loves to go on nickjr.com - lots of great games. He also loves playhousedisney.com - again, great educational games. The websites are so easy that after a few lessons, my son was able to navigate through them by himself.
Trish
Try starfall.com. It's pretty easy, my kids love it!
Hi C.,
I realize this is the technology age, but I think your daughter is a little too young to be on the computer, please, don't misunderstand or be offended, I realize in this day and age, everyone will need computer skills, but why get them "hooked" on it so young? If you are not careful and really limit it, it can become an obsession very quickly, which, when they are older can be very bad if not monitored closely. I have a 7 year old and he is rarely on the computer at home, and at school they use it only occasionally. I also have 2 teenagers and neither one has their own computer. Our computer is in a main area of our home, where we can see what they do. There is just too many dangerous websites. I have a friend that was taking her young daughter to a game website and missed one letter of the website and she got a pornographic wesite!!! Be very careful with your little one, for age appropriate games you can go to nickjr.com, also I don't know if you have heard of Veggie Tales, but they have games on bigideafun.com, my 7 year old sometimes plays on these sites, but he does not navigate on the internet alone, I am right there helping him, hope this helps you and please be extra careful with such a young child. God Bless
Debbie F.
we don't have games that we purchase on our computer... our kids play all the things on nick jr., playhouse disney, and pbs. there is SO much there they are occupied forever and much of it is VERY educational.
have fun!
My kids like pbskids.org and starfall.com (ages 6, 4, 2).
Hi C.-
My 3 1/2 yr. old boy is also a computer fanatic. The ones he enjoys are pbskids.org playhousedisney.com and the sprout website. They are great for their age because it is hard to make a mistake on the games and they also have videos as well. The easiest website for toddlers is www.kneebouncers.com I hope that helps a little.
I would go to your local library and check out some educational software. My little guy loves Jump Start Toddler.
My son is 5 now, but has for a long time loved the games on www.playhousedisney.com and www.pbskids.org. Hope that helps!
C.,
There are many kid friendly show like Dora The Explorer, Wonder Pets and Diego on a site called Nickjr.com. The other sites my son likes to go to are pbskids.org and nogggin. I have also heard that Leapster has their own site that you can try out and play their games on as well.

I know my kids really like, NickJr.com, Playhouse Disney, PBSKids.org
There was an article in Time magazine awhile back about great websites for kids and they recommended:

teletubbies
We love pbskids and poissonrouge but haven't tried teletubbies yet.

My daughter just turned 6, but we have used the Disney.com website the disneychannel.com websites. She found a lot of fun stuff. We found Curious George at www.pbskids.org. THey have alphabet and number games. She has loved them. Worth trying.
Check out
Moshimonster.com
they have a virtual monster who they feed, clothe, and decorate the homes of...plus its a free site!
They play matching games, counting games, letter games, etc. to earn money to "buy" things for the rooms.
My daughter is 3 1/2 and she gets to play with her Moshi monster if she's had a good day at preschool...so not only does she play learning games, but she learns that by behaving, she gets to do something fun.
