hello moms out there!!!!!!! we just recently got our computer and internet up and running and we just taught our daughter how to use the mouse on w/ the computer, ever since then, she loves to be on it. she likes to watch old disney cartoons. like the ones i watched when i was a kid. its strange to see those as an adult. but i want to know if there are any free, online, easy and educational games for her. she loves spongebob, disney animal movies, fish, any type of animal things she loves.
thanks for taking the time to read my request and to reply. i am very grateful for any advice.

So What Happened?

thank you to everyone who responded to my computer request, and the quickness of it was awesome! within just a few hours of posting it, i was shocked! thank-you. my daughter has truely enjoyed the playhousedisney.com. i don't know why i didn't think of some of those websites. we watch those shows and i hear the "go to our website" stuff all the time. i think it is because we just recently got the internet and i never thought twice about it.
and to those mothers who showed concern about a 3 1/2 yr old being on a comupter, thank you also. that was nice of you to sshow concern. all i can say is that i will moniter her on there and that i wish that i could sit and play a board game w/ her, but she doesn't have the patience just yet. and its hard to do that w/ a 1 1/2 yr old also.

I was looking for stuff online for a 2 year old just yesterday. I googled toddler games online and it came up with a bunch. I went to the Fisher Price site and we played for 30 min. He loved every minute of it and he talked nonstop while we played. I hope you find a good one.

Hi,

Try www.pbskids.org (there might be a hyphen between "pbs" and "kids"). Many of the kids shows have coloring games and other types of games.

My girls love Zac Browser. Do a web search for it and it will come up. It will disable things like the windows key and the delete key so they can not mess anything up too. It is educational with music, different games and things like that. We introduced it to my 2 1/2 nephew and he loves it too.

May be a different kind of advice. I tried to keep my kids away from computers and any kinds of games for as long as possible. I never regreted. I am proud to say I have an 11 y/o who plays games may-be 2-4 hrs month! Beat that. First game he got at the age of 10. He didn't know TV existed until he was 3. My 2 y/o is not watching TV and not playing any games on any kind od computer including kiddy-computers. I am yet to see a game that is educational and stimulates the child the way human interraction does. But choise is yours. I have a friend who is a child therapist and she tells me horror stories about computer and game addictions in kids and all kinds of antisocial behavior.
Good luck.

Hi C.,
I realize this is the technology age, but I think your daughter is a little too young to be on the computer, please, don't misunderstand or be offended, I realize in this day and age, everyone will need computer skills, but why get them "hooked" on it so young? If you are not careful and really limit it, it can become an obsession very quickly, which, when they are older can be very bad if not monitored closely. I have a 7 year old and he is rarely on the computer at home, and at school they use it only occasionally. I also have 2 teenagers and neither one has their own computer. Our computer is in a main area of our home, where we can see what they do. There is just too many dangerous websites. I have a friend that was taking her young daughter to a game website and missed one letter of the website and she got a pornographic wesite!!! Be very careful with your little one, for age appropriate games you can go to nickjr.com, also I don't know if you have heard of Veggie Tales, but they have games on bigideafun.com, my 7 year old sometimes plays on these sites, but he does not navigate on the internet alone, I am right there helping him, hope this helps you and please be extra careful with such a young child. God Bless
Debbie F.

My 3 1/2 yr. old boy is also a computer fanatic. The ones he enjoys are pbskids.org playhousedisney.com and the sprout website. They are great for their age because it is hard to make a mistake on the games and they also have videos as well. The easiest website for toddlers is www.kneebouncers.com I hope that helps a little.

Check out

Moshimonster.com

they have a virtual monster who they feed, clothe, and decorate the homes of...plus its a free site!

They play matching games, counting games, letter games, etc. to earn money to "buy" things for the rooms.

My daughter is 3 1/2 and she gets to play with her Moshi monster if she's had a good day at preschool...so not only does she play learning games, but she learns that by behaving, she gets to do something fun.
