We moved from Oregon to Texas in March 2008. And ever since, I haven't had a chance to see an endocrinologist for my thyroid problem. Since I am new to the area, I would really appreciate if anyone of you moms could recommend an endocrinologist within HEB(HUrst,Euless,Bedford) or other nearest cities.
Thanks.

I see Dr. Roopa at "Endocrinology & Reproductive Medicine of Tarraant County" for my thyroid. I am very happy with her and the office is nice and new.

2020 Hwy 114, suite 320 Grapevine, Tx
(near where the 121 and 114 meet up)

My mom has diabetes and I took her to see Dr. Habbu whose office is in Bedford. I don't know much about him other than he was recommended by my mother's general doctor and my mom was really happy with how the appointment went. He is very nice and has a friendly personality--seems to be competitent.

I've also seen Dr. Bajaj, and found him really nice. However, when he moved to southern Ft. Worth, I decided to try FemCentre in Colleyville, since they were closer.

Dr. Petr measured ALL my hormones, and found some defeciencies in areas other than my Thyroid. He also supported my decision to try the Amour vs Synthroid. I have been feel MUCH better since seeing him and following his recommendations and prescriptions. The doctors in this office seem more supportive and understanding of women's health issues than any other place I've been. They take most insurance.

I am not sure where you are located exactly, but we live in Keller and the closet endocrinologist on our insurance is in SW Ft Worth. I see DR. Chris Bajaj. He is just off of Bryant Irving close to Harris Methodist Southwest. Super nice and seems to have a good understanding of thyroid issues. His # is ###-###-####.

There's a list of recommended docs for the group (most people don't find Endos to be good unless you have thyroid cancer), as well as comments on a whole lotta other docs in the area.

Dr. Stefanie Addington at Baylor Irving on Hwy 183 at McArthur Blvd. at ###-###-####. I called other thyroid specialists but they wouldn't see more for several months, but Dr. Addington got me in the week I called her and since then (that was a few years ago), their office has always been wonderful. She's great. Good luck.

Hello M.,

I see an Endocrinologist; however, he is located in downtown Fort Worth, Harris Hospital. He is really good though. If you are interested in traveling to that location let me know and I'll provide you with his info.

I go to Dr. Dorfman in Dallas. I really like him. I most definitely CANNOT recommend Dr. Lackan in SW fort worth. He is Dr. Bajaj's partner. I walked in and was in tears in his office because I had not been feeling like myself for months and his comment to me was "let me see if there is anything I can even do for you" I will NEVER forget that first visit. I was called 3 different (patient) names by his staff and spent well over 2 and a half hours there (and it wasn't a productive 2.5 hours). When I had my second visit, I was a "triple" book and I arrived 15 minutes early only to find out they didn't have me scheduled for that day or any day for that matter. I wrote the appointment directly on my calendar as I made it and double checked it with the scheduled. As I mentioned, I was a triple book, so I had to be sure I would be able to figure out things with my two girls. So, at my second appointment it was 8:45 for a 9:00 appointment and they asked if I could come back at 1:15 (said nope, that is nap time, sorry). They then asked if I could run some errands and come back at 11:30. I just looked at them dumbfounded as I couldn't believe, with an empty waiting room, that they would ask this. His assistant then came out and she remembered the day of my first visit and the craziness and she convinced him (or someone) to finally see me at that time. Funny thing is, that it was still busy, but I was in and out by 10:30. Go figure. And, he also wondered why the lab didn't draw one of the labs he normally requests....well, he did mention that he wanted it drawn (at my first visit), but with all of the craziness, I am not surprised it didn't get drawn. Needless to say, I cannot recommend him or his office.
