I do remember feeling so isolated when I was first home with my oldest child. Just know that life does get busier as they get older. They more your kids get involved in, the more moms you get to know, and soon life will be a whirlwind.
A few ideas for you . . . Mother's Day Out is great interaction for your son. Most are reasonably priced. I have met the moms of other kids in the class and set up playdates that way too.
I work out at the YMCA and have gotten to know many of the moms that work out at the same time each day. I find the classes to be very friendly there.
Edmond library has a toddlers playgroup. I think it is still on Tuesday mornings. It is very well done. Sometimes a simple craft, free play time, a few stories, a few songs. Age appropriate expectations (not expected to sit perfectly still for story time, etc..) Very popular and FREE.
The Oklahoma City zoo is wonderful. Family passes are cheap. You'll definately want to spend some time there this spring. Also Edmond has very nice playgrounds scattered around the city, great locations for a picnic.
Does your church offer small groups? There might be a small group for "young families" or "new members" that would help you meet some people. Also when the weather warms up and you can get outside with the stroller you might be able to meet some moms in your neighborhood. Most Edmond neighborhoods are packed with kids! Good Luck!
