Searching for Pediatrician Accepting Non Vaccinated Children

I have been searching for a good pediatrician in the Lewisville, Carrollton, Coppell, Plano or Frisco Area (basically anywhere close to 121). The last 2 that I went to see had a disclaimer that stated they would not provide ongoing care to children who's parents choose not to vaccinate them. I have chosen to delay vaccination starting from 12 month vac.'s and stand by my decision. Does anyone know of a pediatrician or even a family doctor who does not have this policy? It would also be great if they had a more holistic approach to things, instead of constantly medicating. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the advice!! We are going to try Dr Nina Cahan in Coppell. I really like all the services that they offer! We actually had Dr. Goff and he was fine as a Dr. but I hated the office staff and the fact that my appointments would get further and further away from when they needed to be. But hopefully things will work ou tnow!

I use Dr. Torrie with Cooks Children's in Denton as well and she is very supportive of not vaccinating. Also a little closer to you is Dr. Rao in Plano and Carrolton. He is a DAN(defeat autism now) doctor and obviously is supportive of not vaccinating. Good Luck :)

Dr. Nina Cahan in Coppell is great!! She's a family physician and believes in delayed, selective vaccination. She's also holistic and will give you natural alternatives first if you let her know that's what you want. This is an excerpt from their website:

" Many of our patients have an interest in alternative, or integrative, medicines and our treatments are can include a blend of allopathic (drug based) and integrative treatments (herbal, homeopathic, accupressure, etc.) We believe that herbal medicine can be used in a balanced approach with drug based treatments. We also recognize that the interest in and openness to herbal treatments will vary from patient to patient. We won't force an herbal approach on anyone, nor will we ignore herbal alternatives. Our approach is to work with our patients on a case by case basis to develop the treatment approach that works best for them. We can advise you on the benefits of each approach and help you make an informed decision. If you have questions about alternative treatments, ask us; we'll be happy to discuss them."
The website is at www.coppellfamilydocs.com. She's really great!

Well Denton is a bit out from 121 but We love Cook children's on Teasley. Doctors Torrie, Goff, Goff and Day. They have never so much as batted and eye at me when I have told that we are not getting vaccines at their well checks.

We have been going to a family doctor who was supportive from the beginning when we interviewed him about not vaccinating our child. She is now 4 years old and has never been on any medication. We only use alternative methods. If he knows you are willing to seek alternative treatments, I know he will be supportive and suggest other options than medication. His name is Dr. Rory Allen and his practice is located in Denton. Please find following phone number and address for him.

Hi K.
I am a non-vaxing mom and have a list of pedi/family doctors who are mostly fine with that. I dont know how each of them is individually ( some are ok with delayed, some are fine with no vaccinations ever and some are not great with it but will support your decision.) When I was searching for a doc before my son was born, I worked through this list and found most all to be fine with delayed--I just had to find one that was on our insurance and not too far away!
If you want to priavte email me, I can send the list--its in excel format.
