Hi! I posted a request the other day here http://www.mamasource.com/request/17504705654294577153?#M... and went out to try the sea bands... They haven't worked, it actually seems like it's making it worse.... I followed the directions and even adjusted them a bit up and down and nothing is helping... for those of you that said Sea bands work, is there a particular way to use them other than as directed? I'm desperate lol Thank you!

What can I do next?

The sea bands never worked for me :-( I know that this is not the healthiest tip....but iced tea helps. My girlfriend just sent me an email and told me i was right. She was able to get through lunch :-) I had morning sickness with all four pregnancies the whole time. Try plain/lemon iced tea and hopefully you will get an hour or two of relief!!

I too had terrible mroning sickness. I actually ended up in the hospital twice. I used the sea bands with little luck. My grandmother is big into home remedies and peaches are suppose to help with nausea. They can't be in the heavy syrup. I had some success with peach tea and the sea bands. If you can get some fresh peaches, you might want to try that too. I hope that this helps.

I never found anything to work. With each new pregnancy I'd hear of a new "trick" and would think that surely it was the one thing that would work. I never tried the sea bands though. I'm thinking that the sea bands are not making it worse, but you're just getting along further in your pregnancy and the nausea is getting worse as you do. You will be feeling better in time. In the meantime, keep trying whatever you can and try to get plenty of rest. And, of course, try to eat small amounts as you are able, particularly before you get out of bed in the morning (saltines, graham crackers, whatever you can get down). The unsweetened iced tea might help some too. I feel for you---I've been there---5 times :)

Take care,
K.

I tried those blasted sea bands as well and they did nothing for me either! Other people call them a miracle cure but for me they were a total waste of money. Mine actually caused me pain in my wrists and I could only wear them for like an hour at a time. Maybe I have weird wrists... I eventually gave in and threw them out. Have you tried those preggie pops that they sell at maternity clothing stores. They've seemed to calm my stomach a little, at least while I'm eating them.

I am sorry to hear they aren't working for you. They worked so well for me. I didn't do anything special - just followed the directions. I hope you find something to relieve your symptoms.

I don't know if you watch the show MythBusters on Discovery, but they did an episode for Sea Sickness and the only thing that worked was Ginger! Yep, the spice. I am not sure if it would help you with morning sickness but it is worth a try. I would just look into if ginger is safe when pregnant, some spices are not.

I was sick for the whole 8 1/2 months (she came a little early). Anyway, nothing worked for me. I would vomit after I brushed my teeth every morning and then usually after lunch or dinner. The only thing I could really eat was peanut butter sandwiches (which now they say causes food allergies). My doc told me not to worry and eat what I could since I was so dehydrated and lost 10 pounds the first couple months. They ended up putting me on the medication Zofran which helped most days but I still had trouble eatting and I vomited once or twice a week even on the medicine.
All I can say is my cousin was just as sick as I was with both her pregnancies also. We now have the best babies anyone could ask for so hopefully that is the case with you also.

Eat whatever you feel like even if its unhealthy. Thats the only thing that woreked for me becuase I had food aversion to everything. Halving my prenatal and taking half in hte morning and half at night. Dont drink jiuce with cereal as it increases the iron absorption and the iron made me sick! Also consult your docotr becuase some women I know who were severe were given Unisom tablets and B6. Theres an ingredient in Unisom that makes the nausuea go away. You cant take the gelcaps though but I wuoldnt take unisom unless you talk to oyur docotr first. What about someon making some gingerbread cookies or gingerbread for you to eat in the morning? Maybe a little more edible than capsules.

No to morning sickness tea helped me out. I can’t promise the same for you because morning sickness is a fickle creature. You need to get many nutrients into your system as you can.

I have used the sea bands for motion sickness.....the little plastic "ball" should go directly over the area where you would check your pulse(at the wrist near the thumb). If that doesn't work, have you ever considered accupuncture? I thought it was a crazy idea, but I did accupuncture for fertility issues, and got pregnant right away and my seasonal allergy symptoms disappeared as an added bonus....It was a miracle....I've heard that it is also quite helpful for nausea/morning sickness. Good luck
