All of my children have gone through Kidzworld at Fellowship of Frisco (Coit and Lebanon). It is a fantastic program with teachers and staff that truly LOVE their students.
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your patience. I know everyone here gets these types of questions all the time but your help is SO MUCH APPRECIATED.
I live in Frisco and am looking for a LOVING & NURTURING preschool or MDO program to enroll my little one in. We have checked out ALL the big named one's and smaller one's and we decided on Creme in Frisco. However, I am not too impressed with what I've seen thus far. I need a place with teacher's or caregiver's who are HANDS ON and enthusiastic with engaging the kids, offer lots of hugs and kisses when needed, encouragement to participate and overcome shyness and can express and BE genuine and sincere with the children. Her classroom teacher's do not express all of these things in my opinion. A big part of this age group is they need to feel LOVED in order to flourish in their surroundings, not just be another number. The teacher's from time to time express their disinterest with the children with their attitudes which is undeniable. They are young girls and would much rather BE some place else. I've heard a lot of great things about the Spanish School House (in Frisco), and about a few religious one's too. So what do you mom's and dad's recommend? If you are a parent with a child at SSH currently, I would love to hear about the ratio of kids in the classroom, turnerover rate and general feel of the teacher's in the Toddler age groups.
Thank you SO MUCH for your time!!

I highly recommend Teddy Bear Junction in Plano. I drive from Allen to take both my sons there. You can see all their great reviews on this website.
Best of luck!

I know this may be a little pricey but check into Carpe Diem Frisco. They offer part time care. The school was started by a mom who did not like her options for childcare so she started her own. Good luck!
Hi J G,
Bless your heart! I was in the same boat a few years ago with my first son (who needed 6 months of therapy after a not-so-positive Montessori experience). We quickly discovered that there is a distinctive difference between "private schools" and "faith-based private schools". A faith-based environment allows the teachers to be more open and nurturing. They have smaller class sizes, too, which gives more one-on-one interaction time.
Most churches have MDO programs, I would start searching there. But if you can make the drive from Frisco, I highly recommend North Texas Christian Academy in McKinney (www.northtexaschristian.org). They are very nurturing (my kids get regular hugs from their teachers!) and have small classroom ratio's (no more than 10 in my 2nd grader's class). NTCA starts enrollement at age 1 for the MDO program and goes thru 7th grade. My first born absolutely FLOURISHED there and came out of his shell right away! Now we have 2 boys enrolled. The teachers are awesome. We make the drive from Allen because it's worth it!
NTCA has a S.M.A.R.T.S education enrichment program which gives their students advanced opportunities in spanish, music, art, religous studies and science. They also have extended care options if you need something more than just from 9am - 2pm.
I don't recall the rate for MDO (it's been too long ago for me) but I can tell you that NTCA elementary rates are much MORE AFFORDABLE than the other area private schools (i.e. McKinney Christian Academy).
I hope this info is helpful to you. If you contact NTCA, tell them C. Fletcher sent you. Best wishes to you!

I take care of children in my home. I have 14 yrs experience and am a mother of 2. I have worked in a day care center and know first hand what kind of attitude the workers have. Alot of them are young and really don't have the connection with the kids that they should. Few are mothers themselves and do not know the importance of their role. I have actually witnessed my daughters teacher (while we were there) sitting in the floor and listening to music which was wired under her shirt and hair. I did not care fo rhow the director handled things and new I could not be apart of that establishment anylonger. I opened my home in March of 05 to offer a place where children can feel safe and loved. I work with each child daily to help them achieve the next step of learning. We love to read together, sing, color, fun games, review (letters, numbers, shapes, colors, sounds...) we play indoor/outdoor.
I have a large playroom set up for the kids as well as a grassy backyard with a swing set and sandbox. during the summer months we enjoy having water fun days. Sprinkler and slip in slide. I want to provide the kids with a summer full of fun. I also provide lunch, snacks, and drinks.
I am listed with the state. I have low ratios. I am CPR and first aid certified. I have references.
If you are interested please contact me at ###-###-####
Thank you,

St. Francis Catholic Church in Grapevine has an excellent program. I had both of my kids enrolled in their program for the last 3 years. The teachers there really and truly love my children. Every teacher we had was top notch and the music and movement program is wonderful. I know that that would be a drive for you but I had to mention it.

I also have a girlfriend who lives in Plano and takes her kids to Teddy Bear Junction. She really likes the program there.
Good luck with your decision!

We had a bad experience at Creme in Plano. I DO NOT recommend them at all. If you just want a MDO program, I highly recommend the program at Prestonwood Baptist in Plano. My son loved it there. He was happy when I picked him up every single time. At Creme, he cried every single time. The folks at Prestonwood were very loving and nurturing and they have a very secure building. Plus the ratio of adults it kids was great. Only 15-16 kids with three adults! I had complete peace of mind. Also, I believe Prestonwood Christian Academy has also started a pre-school program that begins at age three that is probably very good as well if you need yhour child to attend every day.
Not sure about the SSH but I have my children at a Primrose School in Plano and have been more than happy. The ratio's are low and the teachers are very loving and care about the children. They do have a few younger girls but do seem to have a good mix of teachers that are older. I know several teachers that have been there for several years 5+. You should check them out it is the Primrose School of Forest Creek on Coit and Hedgcoxe in Plano.
Good Luck!
My 2 year old goes to Celebration Convenant MDO in Frisco off Teel & Main and we love it. They offer a choice of M-F, T/TH or MWF classes from 9am - 2pm. We love the Christian environment, experienced (older) teachers & they have a great Director. There program is 2-5 years old.
My friend's 2 year old goes to Cornerstone Church MDO in Plano off Independence & Ridgeview (just south of 121) in North Plano. Again, awesome program & they love it! They offer T/W/TH or T/TH classes from 9am-2pm. There program is 6mos - 5 years old.
One issue you may have right now is a lot of the MDO programs have already had there fall enrollment so you will probably have to get on waiting lists but I do suggest you start now.
Good Luck!!!
Hi! J!
Please check out Teddy Bear Junction in Plano. TBJ has been in existence since 1985. This past Spring, one of the Teachers was recognized as the Collin County AEYC Teacher of the Year. The staff is very nurturing and loving. The child/teacher ratios in the 2's and Toddlers classroom is the lowest in the area with 8 children to 2 teachers.
The preschool program has been recommended by Plano ISD Kindergarten teachers and other PISD Staff for years. The staff turnover is very low. The bottom line is that the children at TBJ learn in a loving atmosphere. They are excited to come to school and the school realizes the importance of forming a trusting relationship with parents.
Hi JG, My son attends SSH in Flower Mound and he absolutely LOVES his teachers and going to school. I'm so happy with what he has learned and experienced that we have already registered him for next school year!
Our son is currently in the 2yo class, two days a week 9-2, and they have a teacher and an assistant teacher. When we get to school he is greeted by the Director and Assistant Director and a couple of teachers. As we proceed down the hall to his classroom he is greeted by both his teachers and gets attention and affection from them every Tues and Thurs. One might say that it’s all about routine, but the fact that he runs up to the teachers and hugs them when we leave at the end of the school day is a very good indicator that he likes where he is for 10 hours a week.
I wasn’t sure if I wanted him to only focus on learning a second language since a lot of other kids his age are getting a different type of education, but he’s going to learn English and all that comes with being in school as soon as he’s in Kindergarten until graduation (and hopefully College). My husband pushed for SSH and likes the fact that our son uses Spanish words to describe certain things. I visited the school in Coppell one day before registering our son last year and was wholeheartedly impressed with the way things were run. While every school location is different, their core, their foundation, is the same. I only have GREAT things to say about them and hope that they’re around for a very long time!!!
We had our son at St. Philips Episcopal Preschool in Frisco (Stonebrook and the Tollway) for two years. I LOVED IT and so did he. It's somewhat small and all the teachers are very loving. They are very choosy when selecting teachers and I believe they get paid more than most schools around. They are all certified teachers and Christian. Very happy with them. It's pricey, but I always felt he was in excellent, loving hands.
Good luck!
