Hello all! Ok, I am pretty sure I am "jumping the gun" a bit but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for preschools in the area(Plano and surrounding). My daughter will be 3 at the end of July but I wanted to start looking now and see about possible early entry. Anything would be helpful and thanks!!!

St. Marks Preschool at Alma and 15th has a very good program. There is no religion taught at the pre-school. I had both of my kids there. For 3 year olds it's 2 days a week. Good luck.

we loved cottonwood creek kidcare off 121 and lake forest (next to lifetime fitness). best prices in the area ($200/month for 3 days/week; most are $200 for 2 days) and great staff/teaching, very professional and very personable. (for a 2-yr old child, i think it's a 2-day option, not sure of prices.) class size at cottonwood is 16 with a full-time assistant, more manageable than programs with class size of 12, but no assistant. plan ahead to ensure spot for your child; call early to get on waitlist.

APPLE CREEK PRIVATE PRESCHOOL!!
Awesome! Located on the corner of Alma and Hedgecoxe. They are a half day academic preschool (not a child care center). They have 2 or 3 day programs. Their teacher child ratios are the best anywhere! The 3 year olds are in a group of only 14 with 2 full teachers! My 3 year old loves it there...and we think they are great!
They have an open door policy...you should check it out!
Their number is 972. ###-###-####.
Good luck!

I highly recommend Primrose Schools! Primrose School of Forest Creek ###-###-#### and Primrose School of North Plano ###-###-####. Both of these schools are owned by the same family. They invest many hours of love and dedication to the schools. You should stop in and take a tour. Both of my kiddos went thru the program, and I loved it!

Good Luck, and God bless

I am not sure where in Plano you live or exactly what you are wanting. But since you have another one on the way I think you want something only a few days a week. (Not full time). I taught at Prestonwood Mother's Dayout for 7 years. I absolutely love it. It was a great education! I only took my kids out when I quit working it. I think I might go back next year with my 2 yr old. You are right in asking now. Some places might have openings now, but most places start registration in Janurary. So start looking now, so you know where you want to go. Since we are not at Prestonwood I did put my 4 yr old at Plano Senior High. They have one main teacher with I think 5 student teachers in the room and 14 students. I am really happy here, but the little one will still be too young for it next year. Good luck and let me know if you need more help as I have many friends who send their kids to several mother's day out programs.

I've been to MANY preschools and my daughter has attended 4 of them. We have finally found an awesome school and it goes all the way to Kindergarten. It's right off Central at Bethany in Allen. It's called Cornerstone. Go east on Bethany from Central and turn left on Prestige. This school just opened in July but the family has had schools for 30 years. Cornerstone has an indoor heated swimming pool that my daughter loves and the kids receive swim lessons year-round. The computer lab is very modern and all kids go there several times a week. Beautiful playground, loving staff, and very conscientious about keeping the place clean and germ-free. Soap and towel dispensers are motion activated, comodes flush by themselves. My daughter was in a nearby school for 2 months and cried every day I dropped her off. They said she was one of those that have a hard time adjusting. Well she has been at her new school for 5 weeks now and has not cried ONCE. (Except when she didn't want to go home becase it was just too much fun).

I don't know if you are still looking for a preschool but I have a great recommendation, Apple Creek Private preschool near Hedgecox and Alma in Plano. I have worked with a few different preschools and this one was by far my favorite. They have great teachers and a great curriculum and a wonderful staff. I was very impressed by the way they put the needs and welfare of the children first in everything they do. Every classroom has two teachers and when I was there the ratio was no more than 8 children per teacher. The classrooms and playgrounds are set up well, I especially like the full privacy fence that surrounds the entire play yard. I could go on and on because I really like it. It is solely a preschool (no day care) which runs a half day program every other day, i.e. M-W-F or T-Th. They have classes from 2 years up to Kindergarten including a Pre-k. The kindergaten is half day and goes 5 days a week.
Good luck

Teddy Bear Junction.
###-###-####
5333 Independence Parkway
Plano, 75023

Both of my children went/are going there. I love it. My sister-in-law put my nieces there after pulling them out of three other places. My SIL is very picky. So, when it came time for my first to start a MDO program, I chose Teddy Bear Junction also. We all love it and the teachers and director are incredible.

They have a 2 year old class so your daughter could start any time.

Good Luck

Plano ISD's early childhood schools start accepting students at 3 yrs old. They only allow 3 & 4 yrs olds to attend. I highly recommend Plano ISD's early childhood program -- they have quality, certified teachers that specialize in early childhood education...they have onsite professional counselor to talk about sharing, taking turns, emotions, etc etc. A librarian (library day every 2 wks)....each classroom typically has a teacher and 1-2 teacher aides.
My son has learned sooo much from his education there and they have given him good preparation and skills for kindergarten in Plano ISD. He loves school and knows how to behave in a classroom.
PISD has 3 early childhood schools in the district. Depending on where you live, you would be assigned to attend one of those schools if you choose to register your child. You can take tours of the schools anytime (by setting up an appt), but I think there are scheduled tour/info open house dates.

If you child has a delay (developmental or speech), she may qualify for free tuition. There is tuition for other students.
