I'd go up a size at night. Overnights may help too, or even putting a plastic cover over the regular diaper. (The kind you'd use over a cloth diaper.)
But just going up a size may make a big difference!
My son has huge bowl movements early in the morning, before he wakes up and his diaper, which fits just fine throughout the day, just doesn't seem to be able to hold his overnight and early morning...stuff! Any advice? We are using Costco huggies. He is staining his clothes and this is just annoying. Thanks!

I had the same problem with too much urine in my daughter's diaper in the morning. Try using Huggies Overnight diapers (they're labeled JUST for overnight use to tackle that problem.) I believe they have more of the "stuffing" in them to be able to hold more than a regular diaper can. Maybe that will hold his bowel movements in better too! :)
Try the huggies overnite diapers. They are wonderful.
I actually think the Overnight Diapers do not contain bowel movements well at all. We change first thing in the morning so our son WON'T poop in the overnight! Now, our daughter is like your son, and poops before she wakes up for the day, so we don't put her in an overnight diaper. We just put her up a size at night so it won't leak too much. You can also buy "doublers" or "inserts" that are disposable (the g-diaper ones are pretty good, but there are other brands too). Good luck!
