Hi Everyone. I just purchased some Ovulation Predictor Sticks off of Ebay. My question is, I've never used these and when I did use one this morning, I got the test line, and a VERY (and I mean VERY) light 2nd line. DO you think that this means ovulation is coming, but farther away then the 36-48 hours and my body is starting to produce the hormone, or do you think there's something wrong w/ the sticks? (The sticks are very plain looking, w/ a green end on it. You have to dip them in the urine to test it). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

Before my husband and I conceived our last child we used Ovulation Test sticks. B.C just did not work for us with the first two boys being conceived on it. After my econd BC failed I tried Depo with no luck. I bleed for 1 1/2 years and I mean full on cycle all the time! Plus gained 50 lbs. So.. we decided to use fertility sticks just like the ones you described (we purchased from the local drug store). We used them for 3 years. What you have described it just like what I had experienced. It usually occured for me a few days before I began ovulation. Just stick to it! I was regular and ovulated every 28 days the entire time we used them. The month we stopped buying them and using them because I was so regular, I ovulated 1 week early and along came our final child. Keep with it!

Actually with OPKs you won't get the best results with first morning urine. To get the best result you should not drink any thing for 2 hours and then test. The best hours to test are between 10am-8pm. Also with an OPK the 2nd line is supposed to be as dark as the first in order for it to be considered positive. Although I have never actually gotten one the was actually darker LOL. So I'd say test again later in the day and see what happens. Also they say that you are supposed to test around the same time each day. HTH LMK if you have any other questions about TTC. I am TTC too and my best friend pretty much wrote the book on it! G/L!!! :)

You will always get two lines on an opk. It is when the two are as dark or the test line is darker that you are about to O. I have found the best way to test is to do it twice a day. I do it around lunch then before bed. I get better results that way. if ya need any more help with them just shoot me an email.
