I used a dollar store ovulation stick and apparently it worked the first month. See my last question!
I just had my IUD removed on 8/31. We are using condoms now to give my body a couple months to normalize before getting pregnant. But when we start trying, I was thinking about getting an ovulation kit. Has anyone used them and do you think they work?

I tried for a year, and got pregnant after a couple months with a kit. Turned out I was ovulating about 4 days later than I though around day 20. So by then, we had "tried" already :) I got quickly pregnant when I was 30 but it took longer at 34. I think my cycle had changed. So, you may want to save your money, unless you have some urgency for trying to plan it, like your age.
I used them to get preggo with both kids.
Worked like a charm!
You just have to know now to read them accurately.
Here's a website that I've used that will give you examples of positive results and negative results. It will help you interpret...

When you get a positive, just have sex that day and the day after.
Should do the trick!
Clear Blue is the best but regular (cheaper) pee sticks work too.
Pregnancy #1 happened on its own after months of trying and doing some fertility treatments that were not successful.
Pregnancy #2 we used the ClearBlue Easy digital monitor. I was pregnant in two months. My kids are only 16.5 months apart! Totally worth it and we wished we would have invested in one for the first pregnancy over those costly fertility treatments! Good luck!

Yes, we used the Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation kit and that's how we conceived our daughter. Great thing about these is that it reveals the larger window of time that your body has during it's most fertile time of the month, so you can get busy for those 4 or 5 days. Highly recommend and worth the money!

Yes, I used them with baby #1 and baby #2. It was so helpful because I ovulate a little earlier than "normal". I absolutely think they work. Best of luck!
There is a misconception when it comes to ovulation kits. While they do/can track the Luteinizing Hormone which is some cases is indicative of one ovulating, what the kits really don't do is determine IF in fact you have ovulated.... you can be more assured as to whether you ovulated or not by tracking your monthly cycles and taking your temp at the same time each morning (more about how to do that on the net)
Also, I think using the OK in conjunction with tracking your cycles is a better and more assured route to go (that is, if a woman can get pregnant) but assuming she can... Then I do think that if a woman is ovulating (for sure) then those kits help to give a better indication as to when it might the ovulation might occur.
Also keep in mind that a woman can ovulate but depending upon LH surge, not all kits can detect the surge.. in particular, if a woman's surge is below a specific threshold of the kit...
I mention all this because those kits (depending upon how many you need) can get VERY expensive.. many women use them in hopes of figuring out when they are ovulating and those kits can mislead women... however, if you choose to use one, you can get ovulation strips via the net.. they are much cheaper way to buy them,,
good luck to you..
I used them to get pregnant a 2nd time, and we got pregnant within a month. I'm glad we used it, because I had a long cycle and didn't ovulate until about day 26, and so it helped us a lot. Once we got a positive test (where the line is as dark or darker than the control line) we had intercourse that day and the following day. They are a little tricky to use because to get the best result, you have to use them mid-day/afternoon, and you also should "hold it" (don't go to the bathroom) for several hours before using it, and not drink too many liquids during that time.
Good luck!
Yes we did and other than a miscarriage, it worked for us! Good luck.
I read the book Taking Care of Your Fertility and found it really helpful. I did buy some ovulation kits as backup and found that they pretty much confirmed what I already knew with my newfound body awareness based on the book's guidelines. Good luck! Baby dust to you and yours!
I found them cumbersome and frankly not very accurate. I would recommend you buy an Ovacue. they are bit pricey but will be the most accurate and an invaluable tool for getting pregnant. Just google ovacue. I have never doubted it's accuracy.
