Hello all you moms! I read several responses to a question not long ago on here. What sparked my interest was a link to a website that offered similar ideas to the Love and Logic books/seminars but was geared to small children. I had saved that link, however my computer had to be fixed and now it's gone. Does anybody know what it is? It caught my attention because it said they use discipline not punishment to teach and again, it was geared toward young ones as opposed to the Love and Logic for older children. Thanks in advance!
PS. It is not Love and Logic that I'm looking for, I've already been to those seminars (very good indeed)! The site I'm talking about was actually recommended by an ex Love and Logic facilitator in a response to someone else's question. I just can't find it now. :(

they have love&logic for teens too... just look through the STORE on the website. 0-6, 7-12 and teens are available. although my kids are small, this has been invaluable to us!
good luck!

I don't know if www.VirtuesProject.com is the site you are looking for, but I have frequently recommended it on MamaSource. Just like the other philosophies, it they teach a language that work with older children, but it also teaches a way to apply the philosophy with younger children.

You can download the basic strategies right from the website, which includes: 'Virtues-based boundaries focus on respect, restorative justice and reparation.' This means that discipline is based on repairing damages caused by misbehavior and restoring a sense of self control and dignity, rather than on techniques of shaming or ostracizing.

I used this book with my own son and it guides how I work with children in my career. Many other programs tell you what to say and give ideas on how to respond, but do not seem to provide the enriching depth of understanding that The Family Virtues Guide provides. It re-educates you about what the role of the parent actually is and how to recognize potential in your child. I love all of these type of programs and have learned much from all of them, but none gave me the foundation that The Virtues Project did.

Hope this helps.

Another program which is great is Redirecting Children's Behavior. I will be teaching a class in September through Parkway Community School. It is very similiar to Love and Logic. If you need more info let me know. ____@____.com.

The authors of Love and Logic actually have written a book specifically for toddlers. You might search their website to see if they have a area devoted to toddlers. But I know there is a book out there specifically aimed at that age group written by the Love and Logic authors.
