Love Your Lightweight Stroller?

I'm looking to buy another stroller in addition to or in replacement for our heavy travel system stroller. My daughter is 15 mo. I'd like something smaller and lightweight to take on errands when we're in and out of the car. Ideally it would be something that could handle ice/snow, since we live in Wisconsin! Does such a thing exist? Do you have a lightweight stroller that you could recommend?

What can I do next?

I love my Chicco lightweigt stroller. I think it is a Capri? Don't quote me on the Capri but I know it is Chicco. I got it off Craigslist and perfect condition. It is taller then the average umbrella stroller and my 14 mos old has used it since she was 4 months! We (her and I) LOVE it. Folds up nicely too.

I didn't have to contend with snow, but im a wiener. I would take my umbrella stroller over the big bulky thing any day of the week. I had a simple umbrella stroller with a canopy. I've seen more rugged ones with sturdy wheels. My advice is go to kid to kid or some other higher end kid resale shop and look at the used ones. You can test drive them, check out the wheels. See how they take wear and tear. You might find a great one for cheap too!

I bought fairly cheap one from Walmart. Don't remember the brand, but it did come in a box.

Just an FYI - if you buy a lightweight stroller from Walmart, be sure to ask about the back wheels. My parents bought it for me and put it together while I was at work for a trip we were all going on. My dad took the first one back because it didn't have the back wheels. Before he exchanged, he opened the box to make sure the wheels were in the second - they weren't!

Apparently Walmart takes the back wheels off/out of the box and keeps them in the back to prevent stealing. Of course, what cashier will think about this when he/she is ringing it up?

Well, I can't say it was miraculous in the snow, but my little green stroller from Babies R Us that probably cost $15 (it was a gift) has done me very well. I'm short, though, so you may hate it if you are tall. If I could change one thing, it would be to have a stroller with a basket underneath, but I use her little backpack slung over the handles.

we've got the citymini jogger. Its not quite ultra small or ultra light, but it does fold very easily, and its got substantial wheels, so concievably it would do well on snow and ice.

Ice?snow? Nothing lightweight is going to handle well in snow.We live in MN,I have UPPA Baby Vista regular stroller with big back wheels. You can use any lightweight stroller anywhere-but not in the snow\ice.
We have Peg Perego Vela-very light and easy, but not for the snow

I bought a First Years Ignite stroller from Amazon and love it. Make sure to check the weight limits on the strollers because I found a lot that only go up to 35 pounds, the First Years one goes up to 50 pounds. I just added cup holders to it (can buy at Babiesrus or Amazon). I like the basket too. It has a parent cup holder and storage pocket that can hold quite a bit of stuff. The handles are a good hight too. I have to walk my son to school everyday and put my 3 yr old in the stroller and haven't had too much trouble getting through the snow and ice with it (I live in the Twin Cities).

A similar question was asked last night by LovingBeingAMom. I don't know how to access the number of the post. I posted a web site for a stroller similar to what my daughter has. It's a Peg Perigo. It's lightweight and easy to carry folded up.

If you google strollers you will be able to see many different brands and styles.

I love my Combi Flare. It is a substantial umbrella stroller with small basket underneath. It is also taller than a conventional umbrella stroller which is great for me since I'm tall.
