Hi. I wonder if anybody knows of a "Daddysource" network that I can recommend to my husband to join?
I'm afraid he is starting to go nuts dealing with our hyperactive 2 year old daughter while working a high stress level job.
I want him to be able to ask other dads how they cope with similar situations.
Thank you in advance.

There is one that I know of, it is daddyden.com. My husband hasn't used it so I don't know how good it is. I think there is one more but I can't remember the name. You can try googling sites for dads or something like that you will probably find something for him.

Uh yeah daddyden.com is DEFINITELY not for parenting! LOL

I think babycenter has some boards for fathers and ivillage *might* but I kinda doubt it. but some dads post on the playgroup or expecting boards on iv.

Hi, E.. My boss belongs to www.allprodad.com. I don't know a lot about the site except it is very pro-family, promotes being a good husband and father, gives ideas. It has articles and blogs offering support to other dads. It seems there are a lot of Christian men on it, but I don't think it is specifically a Christian/religion based site.

I asked this exact same question some months back, but no one knew of a "daddysource.com." If you end up finding one, will you let me know?

Its not really a message board but a good blog that always takes questions is dadgonemad.com

He is a hilarious writer and always has funny things to say about his family and situations in life.

Hope that helps. :-)

to be honest, (and this is really just my assumptions) i don't think men in general are equipped for talking out their feelings or seeking advice about stress with other men. As sensitive and doting my husband is to his family, he is not one who would go and share feelings with other guys on a forum.

at most, men may go to see a licensed therapist, but i think that's in severe cases when they're dealing with HEAVY issues.

that's why most of the sites are geared towards women. we're just built that way, i presumed.

but hey, the few men (maybe single dad's) can enlighten us on this issue if they're reading this. my assumption has always been that if a man is a member of mamasource, he has something practical to ask, like where to find a good pediatrician...or he's probably a licensed therapist seeking to help perspective clients.

E. - Thank you for posting this question! I have often wondered about this. I know we live in a society where some think men won't want to share themselves the way women do, but thankfully, times are changing and we need to support, nurture and encourage this change! We have a lot of men staying home, working from home, etc., all with the goal of being more involved in their children's lives. Let's all search for a "daddysource" site and then come back here & share it with one another. Also, thanks to the dads who respond to the posts on this site. I find your thoughts and perspectives very insightful. Peace, B.
