I bought mine at St. Peter's Guild in St. Paul. It is off Grand Ave I believe. Not usre of number, but they have them there.
I am having my duaghter christianed in April on her first birthday but I am having trouble finding any place that sells gowns. None of the department stores or usual childrens stores seem to have themand I do not want to order online. Any suggestion as to where to shop would be appreciated. Thanks

I had better luck for my sons' and daughter's chistening gown to look outside of the traditional gown areas. I went to Nordstrom & Bloomingdale's at MOA and found really, really nice stuff off of the rack in the finer kids clothes. I got each of them a simple, beautiful linen or other appropriate fabric in cream/white and did get lucky both times and found them on sale. I found the traditional gowns that I liked to be really outrageous in price or too frilly for my taste.
Good luck!
JC Penny Rosedale. They have the most selection and sizes even though there isn't tons...Good Luck
I was just at Once Upon a Child, and I saw a section of gowns there. I don't know if you mind a used gown, but i imagine they are in pretty good shape being that they were probably worn once!
JC Penney's usually has gowns in the store. I'd try there.
Have tried Walmart?? I have seen them there.
My son was baptised when he was four months old and I didn't like any christening gowns, so I found a really cute white outfit by Koala Baby at Babies R Us. Koala Baby makes their regular baby clothes and then they have a more formal line as well.
Hi,
Although I have two boys, I was able to find Christianing gowns at Herbergers in the Midway. How about St. Pat's Guild on Randolph?
Good luck.

I had the same problem. I know this may be odd for you, not so much for me because I am hispanic, but there is a little shop down on the West Side of St. Paul off of Concord called Lupitas. When you look into the window, it may not look the place for a gown, but the one I got for my daughter was GORGEOUS!!!! Some of them were a little "gaudy", but they also have bigger sizes (for your 1 yr. old). Like I said, I myself at first felt uncomfortable going in there because even though I am hispanic I dont speak much spanish. But when i walked in they were sooooo nice and helpful. Good luck!
There is a little shop in the NorthStar Building in downtown Mpls called the Beautiful Bambino. They have christening gowns on display. You might want to try them.
Good Luck!
