Leprechaun Spin-off....

So lets say you find a Genie, and get 3 wishes. The catch is that they have to be 3 COMPLETELY selfish wishes! They can't benefit anyone else, unless that benefit comes through you (meaning that they are happy, because you are happy... or that something that would make you happy would also make them happy...). What would those 3 wishes be?

Mine..

1) Health. My family will ALWAYS be in perfect health, no matter what age or circumstances, until the day they would naturally die from age. (I say this counts as selfish, because the loss of a family member would wound me deeply... so it's self-preservation to keep them healthy! lol.)

2) The ability to perfectly play any instrument by ear. I LOVE listening to live music, but I have NO talent for it. Even when I was younger, and took violin classes, I was never able to make it sound even remotely like music. I have always been so envious of people who are able to make beautiful music, and I would love to have the ability.

3) Physically fit. This kind of fits in with the health, but is a bit different... I would want my body to always be in prime physical condition... meaning that I will always be right at the perfect level of tone, flexibility, endurance, etc. for whatever age I am, no matter what I eat, or how little I exercise. Shallow, I know... but I LOVE food, and don't much care for exercise. lol.

What can I do next?

#1 - I would love to look how I looked at 18. Not skinny, but not fat. (I was about a size 18 and I ROCKED it!) And part of that wish would say that I can't EVER gain any weight.
#2 - Money - lots of it. Enough that I can pay off debt, send all 3 of my kids to college, buy a house here and in Mexico, help my husband's family, help my family...phew. I don't know how much I would need. But a "tree" in the backyard that just produced $100 bills would be nice.
#3 - There is a particular law that I would change. For MY family it would be HUGE if it could be revamped.

1. Perfect health, inside and outside, for myself and my family. Free from bipolar disorder, depression, weight issues, heart issues, etc.

2. Enough money to live comfortably debt-free without my husband or I (or our parents) ever needing to work again. I'd say 20 million dollars should do the trick. ;)

3. I'll reserve this one until my kids are teenagers. haha!

What kind of a genie are we talkin'?
'Cause you know, if it were a manipulative genie I'd just as well have him keep his wishes ;-)

But let's assume we've found ourselves a bonafide genie with cheery disposition.

I'd wish for...hrm...let's see...selfish wishes.

1. I like your idea for optimal health for the whole family. That would be just wonderful. Can I extend that to my parents and my best friends who definitely count as family? Let's say yes. The WHOLE family.

Okay. Hmm...

2. A complete cultural overhaul. Let's get our priorities in order. Feel the brutal ache of compassion, think of other's first, that sort of thing. That would totally aleve me from, like, 98% of all my external strife. I mean, I'm reaaaaally sensitive, and when I see people (individual or group) hurt each other, it is deeply painful. Besides that I want our children to be taken care of, spiritually, emotionally, physically, academically...the works. I hate the degree to which our culture abandons the welfare of little children. We forget how slowly change comes about. For most, it will take generations. We ought get a start on it now.

3.) I'd like to have a boat, all repairs, mooring fees, and fuel paid for. Oh, this is wish-ville, so let's make the engine powered on sea water. Yah! We don't need anything fancy, just something we could use for work and pleasure, with a cabin for sleeping. Hell, let's go ahead and throw a small kitchen in too. And a truck big enough to tow it, and a trailer. We'll call this the Genie Boat Package.

There we go. Three wishes :-)

1) Enough money to get us out of debt. We are looking at about 120K. Whatever else I want, I will work for.

2) Health of my loved ones ( I would say family but there is none blood family that means so much to me)

3) The ability for my body to bounce back to my 16 year old body (which I hated at the time) after kids!

i'm with ya on the health. so that'll be my #1. good health for the guys and me, no major illnesses, teenage libido, natural inclination toward exercise and healthy food, quiet death during sleep when it's time.
#2 sufficient passive (ie no punchcard/paycheck) income to do what i want, whether it's lie around on the couch watching chopped or riding friesians in portugal. if i want mountains, i want to be able to go to them. when i want to frolic in the ocean, i want to decide between bermuda and santorini.
#3 for the writing muse to be with me all the time the way she was when i was a kid. to NEED to write so badly that i get itchy and uncomfortable when kept from it. to have words falling over each other to flow from the nib of my ink pen.
uh oh. i'm glad you specified 3. now the wish muse has gripped me, and i've got tons more clamoring for attention!
