We have a dry erase board & my daughter drew all over it with a regular marker. I can't get the marks off & was wondering if anyone knew how to get it off? Thank you
When I was a teacher, kids were constantly scribbing on my dry erase boards with everything but dry erase. Sharpie always made it on the board. Take a dry erase marker and color over the marks she made...trace over what she marked. Then rub off the dry erase marker. Most likely it will clean the old marks off with it.

I would try if you haven't yet, a Mr. Clean Eraser... They have never let me down, actually used it to get red wine out of my carpet!!! Good Luck!

For the non-toxic, inexpensive approach-Sounds silly but have you tried apple peel. Bite a piece of peel off an apple and wipe flesh side down. This is what my husband uses at school when he has this similar situation. Just an apple skin and your done. IF not try sunscreen, any SPF. Good luck!

Non-toxic option...... wowgreen superstain remover. will even take off sharpie or nail polish.
Rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball has always worked for me.

Hi Mama, a couple of ideas:
1. baking soda and vinegar...not sure what will happen to the finish, but it might work.
2. Non acetone nail polish remover...it works for leather, for tile....it might work for that. try a small spot first to test.
3. Goo gone...it's an oil base but removes all sorts of funky stuff. Shouldn't hurt your board any.
4. De-solve it. I swear by this stuff. Not sure if it will get the marker off, but it's worth a try.
Good luck!

I 2nd or 3rd the rubbing alcohol. If I recall correctly I used a Sharpie on my board by mistake one time and rubbing alcohol did the trick.

Staples has 'Dry Erase Board Wipes' and the instructions say to use a dry erase marker over top of the regular marker (being sure to completely cover the other marker), erase the area with a soft colth or eraser and clean the surface with the board wipe.

I have found that if you write over the regular marker with the dry erase marker, the regular marker comes off.
Good luck!

As a teacher, this has happened quite a few times! Scribble over the marker with a dry erase marker and it will erase. Sometimes you have to do it a few times and you want to color over it nice and dark. GL!

I agree with Cheryl--those Magic erasers are--well--MAGIC! (If that doesn't work, I don't think anything will.
