My 17mo old DD sleeps about 2 to 2.5 hrs at nap and then about 9 to 10 Hrs at bedtime but she has always been a really good sleeper.
Just curious. I cannot remember what normal is!
My 17mo old DD sleeps about 2 to 2.5 hrs at nap and then about 9 to 10 Hrs at bedtime but she has always been a really good sleeper.
Mine turned two on October 18th, and she goes to sleep at 10pm wakes up at 8am. Then takes her nap at 1pm till 3pm. she was refusing to take her nap as soon as she turned two but thanks to All the wonderful women on mamasource I got her into still taking her nap. So we're back the the usual routine.
My little girl who is turning 2 in a few weeks sleeps about 12 hours during the night-if her older sister doesn't wake her up. Then she usually will nap anywhere from 2-3 hours during the day-that is just one nap.
My son is 19 months and goes to bed at 6:30-6:45 and wakes up, or is woken up at 6:00-6:30. He also has about a 2 hour nap during the day. He averages about 13.5 hours a day. I believe that the recommended is 14.
My 17 mo son old sleeps around 12 hours at night, and 2-3hr during the day with one nap. He goes down to bed about 7pm and wakes at 7am, and naps around noon. We occasionally have two nap days if he is extra tired with both being 1.5-2hr long.
My son will be 2 next week, and he currently sleeps about 11-11.5 hours at night and around 2 hours during the day (sometimes 3). I don't think it matters what times they sleep, as long as they are getting a total of around 13-15 hours (depending on their needs). HTH!
mines 1 and she goes to sleep at 10 at nigh n wakes up at 12 in the afternoon and takes a nap around 5 n gets up at 6 or 7
Some people have made unfair blanket statements, like that all young children should be in bed by six or eight or whatever, and that doesn't seem right to me. My pediatrician told me that as long as my toddler was getting at least fourteen hours or so of sleep per night, averaged over the week, then we were fine. My 21-month-old sleeps from about nine or ten at night to nine or ten in the morning, plus she has about an hour and a half to three hours of napping in the afternoon. She's always been a good sleeper. Her daddy is self-employed, and I work from home, so her schedule fits nicely into our hours. There are as many ways of raising children as there are parents, so what is right for one person might not be right for someone else.
My 15 month old goes to bed between 8 & 8:30 pm, and wakes up between 7:30 & 8:30 am. He also takes one afternoon nap for 2-3 hours (2pm-4/5pm). My 4 1/2 year old also goes to bed at the same time and usually wakes up around the same time (they share a room). Although, I sometimes wish my 4 yo would take a nap too! I don't know if that is normal, but I know that I'm blessed with REALLY good sleepers. We put them down when they're awake and they put themselves to sleep (have since they were infants) and they both wake up really happy!

My 15 month old sleeps about 13 1/2 hours at night and she still takes two naps during the day. The first one is usually 2 hours and the second is about an hour. So in a whole day that's about 16-17 hours a day.
Normal, ha!
My son, at one, crashed between midnight and 1am. He slept until 10am, with one 2 hour nap (occasionally two naps). The late schedule allowed me to sleep in as I was pregnant with baby #2.
My daughter just turned 2 and GAVE UP her nap. Sleeps from 9pm to 8am. Used to nap 2-3 hours and still sleep at night those times!
My new baby is, of course, napping a lot...not close to one yet.
On average, my 16 month old sleeps 10-11 hours at night plus one 2 hour nap during the day. He goes to bed at around 6:30pm and gets up at 5:00 am. We move this back about 1 hour on the weekends. I am honestly stunned by some of the responses so far. Letting a 1 or 2 year old go to bed at 10pm? Wow! I know 6:30 is early but if you read "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" they recommend getting an infant in bed by 5:30 or 6:00pm. We just never got out of the habit of early bed times since both my husband and I are early risers. Both my sons (ages 16 months and 34 months) are great sleepers. Good luck but I would never let my young child stay up past 8pm. I think it gets them into bad sleep habits that may last for life.
My 15 month old sleeps about 10-11 hours at night and 1 1/2 - 3 hours during the day.
My son just turned two, he goes to bed between 7 and 8, wakes up between 6 and 8. Naps between one and two hours a day.
They need about 12 to 14 hours of sleep.
