How Can I Get Suntscreen Oil Stain Out of My Clothes

I have sunscreen spray (oil based) that I went to use on my son yesterday. I hadn't used it in a while so the nozzle was clogged and sunscreen dripped on my light grey cotton skirt (it's one of those stretchy maxi skirts). So now I have these dark oil stains on them and I can't get it out. I tried scrubbing it with Zout last night but it didn't seem to work because I let it sit overnight to dry out and it looks like the oil stain is still there. I haven't thrown my skirt in the washer yet, just tried the spot treatment. Not really seeing anything helpful online to help. Does anyone have a solution that worked for them? I just got this skirt and I am hoping. It's not ruined.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Dawn didn't work but the Simple Green did. Thanks. I never would have thought to use that.

Try spot-treating the area with blue Dawn dish soap. That stuff powers through grease and oil pretty well.

I agree with Marie...try the blue, original Dawn liquid dish soap.
Then launder as usual.
( I like Tide with bleach alternative)

I use Simple Green for oil-based stains with lots of success.

One thing that 'may' help is "K2R spot lifter"...

I know it can be found on line...maybe even in stores. It is a OLD product...and sort of a wet spray that you allow to 'dry' on the spot...then brush away.

May be worth a try!??
