K.K.
LOVE IT...we were able to find the DVD on Blockbuster Online so we did not have to buy it. I also LOVE the Happiest Toddler on the Block DVD (book is hard to truly get...need to see Karp model it.
Are you familiar with either the Happiest Baby on the Block Book or DVD? Would you recommend it? I'm thinking of purchasing it.

DVD- GREATEST THING ON EARTH! It helped so much with our little one. It teaches you a lot that you can do with a newborn baby to help get rest and not have a screaming, unhappy baby.
Helped us get a few good nights of rest for sure!
Great book. Look for it at Half Price Books or a baby consignment store to save money.
This book and The Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg were great tools for me when I had my newborn.
Definitely worth it but I would take the class from Kay Willis at the Nesting Place in Grapevine.
She has many great classes to choose from.

Good luck.
Definitely!! That book was my life saver! I just wish I had read it before I had my daughter because it would have saved some frustrations. I recommend it to everyone now.
I got the dvd from the library and bought the book. Definitely worth checking out. I don't know how much the DVD is, but if you watch it a few times, you're good to go, so the library should work out well for that. You may be able to find the book at Half Price Books (Love that store!). Good luck!
I watched the DVD when we were having sleep troubles with my daughter. I highly recommend it!!! Like a previous poster, I wish I would have seen it before she got here.
After reading the reviews on here I was interested in this DVD also. I have a 5 week old that gets fussy easily and definitely doesn't sleep soundly. He is alot more of a challenge than my older son. I got online and did a search and out of 400 reviews on Amazon, 334 people gave it 5 stars. Amazon has it for 19.99 (free shipping with $25) and several distributors have it on ebay for $17 free shipping. I just ordered it and can't wait to get it!
Being that your baby is 2 mos old (by your "a little about me"), GET THE DVD!!!!!!!!!!!! The book you must take time to read and the DVD I believe goes over everything that the book does with visual examples that the book can not do. Plus, the DVD has the Bonus sounds and USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your son, being 2 mos old, won't use this method too much longer though, so I might check into renting the DVD (or cheap on ebay) instead of dropping money for a new item just to use it a couple of weeks. The method is meant for newborns!
That said, I STILL am a firm supporter of this method! I ONLY WISH I KNEW OF IT WITH MY FIRST CHILD AS SHE WAS COLICY! THIS METHOD SAVED ME WITH MY SECOND CHILD, who was more mellow than the first, but my second came along when my first was only 17 mos old so it kept me sane and confident that I COULD calm him down rather than just hold a crying baby and let it cry it out as I had to do with my first!
Good luck!
Def worth checking into!
Oh yah...........and have anyone whom cares for the baby watch it as well! My parents (both mom and dad) and my hubby LOVED the movie and very firmly believe in what it teaches, even after having to force my Hubby to watch it!
But on a time crunch, DVD over book FOR SURE!!!!!!
I think this is probably one of the most helpful books and dvds you can get. So yes, I would highly recommend purchasing or at least borrowing it from the library. It was a life saver for us.
DVD all the way and it's a MUST HAVE. You gotta SEE what he's doing in order to implement it in your own life. Reading the book doesn't do the techniques justice. Plus, it's a MUST WATCH for dads. My husband, who has a daughter from his previous marriage, didn't want to watch it (thought he knew it all), but when I started it, I was floored, called him in and we were both floored. We watched it a couple of times before returning it to the library.
I checked it out of the library, which was perfect. I also have a couple of friends who own it, so I know the DVD gets passed around from friend to friend when they need it.
I like Happiest Toddler on the Block too as well as Love and Logic. Both of those are great for toddlers.
