Graco Dual Gliders & Graco Snug Ride - Double Stroller Advice

Hi Ladies,
I currently have a 2 year old and a second baby due the second of February. I am searching for a double stroller. Our first stroller was a Graco travel system and I was very pleased with it. I'm wondering if you have any pros and cons of the Graco Dual Gliders or have any other double strollers you love or hate. I am looking for one that can hold a Graco Snug Ride infant seat and seat a toddler. I am NOT interested in the sit and stand models. Any helpful hints, tips, rants, or raves would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
M.

I'm finished with mine, if you want it. It's an older model Craco and has been thoroughtly used, but definelty still in good condition. With 2 weighing in at close to 70 lbs. now, I can't push it very well. The back seat folds down flat for infants and has a visor that covers both seats.

I have 11 month old twins and we have had a Graco Dual Glider that fits their Graco Snug Ride Infant seats since they were about 3 & 1/2 months old and I absolutely love it. We used it everyday this summer and until it got really cold here this winter. Off the top of my head I cannot think of one con. It has plenty of space for the diaper bag, etc underneath and ours has a drink holder on top with a place for me to put the house keys and my wallet. I love it because it is narrow enough to fit through doorways. It is a bit like pushing a tracker trailer and sometimes difficult to get it around tight corners, etc. but otherwise I love it.

Ok,
I have a 2.5 year old and a 10 month old son. I HAD a Duo Glider and HATED it. It was huge and so hard to manuever. I felt like I was pushing a bus! The pors is that it hold the car seat.
We ended up giving our duo glider away and saving money to get the Phil and Ted E2 Tandum double stroller. You really can't use it until the baby is 3 months old, but our 2 year old rode in it and we threw the newborn in the baby bjorn. It was a pain at first but once Richie could hold his head up I LOVE it. It folds up to the smae size as a single stroller. They are expensive if you buy them in the store but my friend found one on e-bay for the same price as a Duo Glider and it still had tags on it. They weigh like 20 lbs, which is lighter than my old single, and you can pop the wheels off and they will fit behind the third row in my Explorer, which even my single couldn't do.

Just a thought. My sister loved being able to strap the car seat in. I wasn't that worried about it.

Just my thoughts. Congratulations on your upcoming arrival.

Kim

I have the graco duo in French roast (brown and gren) I love it- I have a 2yr old and a newborn, you can put the car seat in the front or back position, it steers nicely and is easy to collapse and pop up- it's a little heavy to get in and out of the car but worth it. I also love the huge basket underneath- when we go to places like Target I shop with just the stroller instead of using a cart- works nicely-

hope that helps and congrats on the new baby :)

I have the Phil & Ted Sport double stroller and my girls love it. It is a 3-wheel stroller (looks like a jogger), and there is a seat that can attach either above the main seat, or below the main seat, with reclining features on both seats. I really love that the stroller is not wide so it can go through shopping aisles.

My advice would be The Graco Duo Glide LX.

When we where expecting our second child we test drove alot of strollers, put a car seat in the back and drove the strollers all over the stores during Christmas time when the isles are extra crowded with our son in the front. We got some weird looks or people who asked to see the baby in the back.

Try out the regular model, I just didn't think it steered as well. A huge differance. Most of the other models where oversized and did not have a good turning radius.

I use my Graco double stroller all the time. I love it.

Also just a bit of advice. I know they are kinda spendy to buy new $150- $200 new. Normally you can find them on your local craigslist for at least half. I have seen them between $30-$90 normally. Hope that helps.

I have a Graco Duo Glider stroller in really good shape for sale if you are interested. We had twins and it worked great, folds flat, easy to push. We also had another baby when our twins were 20 months old, would use it at the zoo, and put the baby in the back in her carrier and when one twin got tired, put him in the front. Let me know if your interested. $75 or make an offer.

I was in the same boat as you when we had our second child. My son is now 4 and our daughter will be 2 in March. They are 2.5 yrs apart. I originally had a side by side stroller but hardly used it as my son seemed so cramped in it. Last summer I got a sit and stand at Target and LOVE IT! I think it's a Baby Trend and was about $100. I know you're not interested in sit and stand but my experience has been great. My concern to you about the double strollers would be to carefully consider the size of your first child. I got rid of my 1st double stroller as well as my umbrella stroller at the second hand store which basically allowed me to buy the sit and stand. Even if I'm without one child and using the stroller with just one child I tend to always be able to use the extra space to carry the diaper bag, shopping bags, my purse etc. etc. Good luck.

We have a baby trend sit and stand and we love it! It's holds most infant car seats. We had a graco snug ride and it worked just fine. The stroller is reasonably priced and manueveres well, it is also a bit more convenient because it isn't much bigger than a regular stroller. My only complaint would be that the storage area underneath is a bit small.

Hi there -

I personally don't have any experience with this, but there was a guy getting one when we were looking at strollers and since he was first, the salesperson was helping him and we overheard the whole pitch. They ended up a Phil and Ted's double stroller. The salesperson said that is the one that they sold almost exclusively for doubles. Hope that helps. TC

Hi, I too have a Graco Duo and have loved it for over 5 years now. I have never had any issues or problems with it. My youngest is now turning 4 next week and between her and her 5 year old brother, it is over 80 lbs to push so I was just thinking of getting rid of it. I also have a 6 year old and when going to the zoo ( which we do a lot) after walking around and on our way out, everyone is tired. I have had my oldest sit in the front (with the removable plastic piece) and my youngest sits on the cup holder between my hands for balance. That would mean it has supported 130lbs with no problems! We have done this for years, LITERALLY, and people look at me wierd, but it works! Obviously, I don't walk away from the stroller with my hands guarding the safety of my child, but it really is stable and the cup holder has never budged. I found mine on the internet with free shipping and it came directly to my house. This has been worth EVERY penny, and I think I payed around $130 for it. I had a baby trend that I found at a garage sale and when I got the Graco, it was like driving a Cadillac. Good luck!

I LOVE my Graco Dual Glider. I did a whole lot of research before I even went to the store and noted that it had received rave reviews. I went to a Babies R Us store to try out all of their double strollers and liked the Dual Glider the best. But, most importantly, I took the display model out to the parking lot to make absolutely certain it would fit into my vehicle. (It did.)

My twins are a little over a year now, and my Dual Glider has been an absolute lifesaver. It's easy to steer. It's surprisingly light weight considering its size. Car seats snap in very easily.

If I were you, I'd go to the store to try it out for yourself AND to make certain the stroller will fit in your vehicle. (I'd put the car seat into the rear position and put your toddler in the front to see what you guys think about it.)
