Ok....I have a 6 month old....weighs prob....17 pouds now. I use Huggies and send whatever I have to daycare...like right now pampers...becuase I had them from my showers. He is in a size 2...but he poops out the top almost EVERYDAY. He is ruining clothes left and right and I dont know what to do....he does it in both the huggies and pampers....not as bad in the huggies. REALLY bad in the pampers at school.

Should I move him to a size 3?

What can I do next?

Yes, he needs to go up a size. I think the recommended maximum weight for size 2 is 18 lbs. so he's at the max weight. I found with my kids I have to move up a size before they got to the recommended maximum weight.

Yes, I always find that if accidents start happening on a regular basis, its time to move up a size.

Yes do it. I had same problem and I figured let's try the size 3's. Amazing difference what one size will do.

My kids were always off the charts for height and weight. When the diaper can no longer contain the "stuff" they produce it's time to go to the next size. I know you want to use the diapers that you already have - but give it up. The sizes advertized on the diaper packages aren't all that accurate either. I always had to go to the next size before they got to the next weight grouping. I also found that pampers were a better quality and in general held more "stuff".
Since my kids were (still are) off the charts they have always gone though diapers, clothes, shoes, coats faster than other kids. What are you going to do? You can spend your life cleaning poop off his clothes or just bite the bullet and go to the next size.

Yes. We moved our son to size 3 pampers after we had a few 'incidents' and it worked wonders. He is only 18.5 lbs at 9.5 months old but he is on the taller side and the size 3 gives him more coverage, especially on the back side. Your son's weight is sort of in between size 2-3 so I would definitely go up a size and that's good until 20-22 lbs...

Yes, almost anytime you are having constant leaks or blowouts it is time to move up a size. The weight guides on the package are just guides, you may be switching sizes well before your kiddo meets the lowest weight on the next size.

Yes. Go by accident problems, not weight on bag.

The ONLY thing that solved my sons blowout problem was to switch to cloth. One might think that it added to my laundry. . . nope. I have less laundry to do now then when he was blowing out 3 times a day.
Cloth really isn't what people think it is. It's modern, easy and dare I say? FUN!!! So many cute prints and colors. Things are super easy now with washing and dealing with the cloth. There are diaper sprayers, wetbags, and SNAPPI's! No more diaper pins! If you so happen to want to know more, you can personal message me. I even have a blog you can check out
