Hi there. My recommendation would be to try using a size larger just for night time. I have a 17 month old and that works for her.

I'm looking for diaper recommendations for my 3 1/2 month old at night. She sleeps about 11 hours and her diapers just can't hold everything. I'm using the Pampers Swaddlers, that have worked well since birth and she has no leaks except at night. Any suggestions on a diaper that will last through the night? She is 15 lbs and the Pampers really do fit well, I just need something more absorbent. Huggies didn't work so well as a newborn, but I'm willing to try again if I hear good things about the larger sizes.
I tried the Pampers Dry and they definitely held a lot more than the swaddlers, but she still leaked. I'm going to give them a few more days, if she continues to leak, I'm going to have to go up a size, even though it makes me nervous because of the 3 lb weight gap between where she is and where size 3 starts. The pad sounds like a good idea, but I was hoping to get a diaper than can hold and avoid the extra cost of pads. Thanks for all the great responses, I never expected so many. I'm going to keep trying all the ideas until I find something that works.

I had the same problem and switched to Huggies for a while, then he started leaking in those so now we are in Pampers BABY DRY!!! These alsways worked well for my daughter
I also use the huggies overnights for my 20 month old and they work awesome! I was having overnight leak issues with pampers and huggies until I bought these. They're great!
Try an overnight diaper. they may not have a size small enough for a 3 1/2 month old, but even 1 size larger may work for night. Huggies sells an overnight diaper. I had to use it with my son for a while, until he quit nursing at night and taking a bottle before bed. If she is still taking a bottle in the middle of the night, maybe you could change her then too?
Hi V. -
We experienced the same thing with Pampers brand pampers, so we tried Luvs. They worked really well never leaked at night. My daughter just turned 3 and is potty trained, but the pull -ups we use at night are the night-time pull-ups. I believe Huggies makes night-time pampers, unfortunately my daughter was allergic to whatever perfumes they have in their pampers. Good Luck!
Hello! My girls always leaked except with Luvs. Just a thought, hope it helps...
Try a larger size diaper. My little one leaked twice at night in a Huggies diaper. I went up a size (only at night) and things were great.
On a side note, my aunt used to put two diapers on my nephew at night- I don't recall if the diapers were different sizes- but it worked- he did not leak.
good luck!
I use the huggies overnights. If that is still not enough, you can put a maxi pad in there. I did this with my son when I couldn't find overnight ones & it works GREAT!
We had the same problem, and someone recommended the "overnight" diapers. Life saver, laundry saver, and baby wakes up with a full diaper that did not leak. Most brands make them.
Move up to a size larger for night use. This is how we handled it. In my opinion Huggies just do not work well on girls, they tend to be fit more for boys. The only time we used Huggies were for the Swim Diapers and Pull-ups later on when you can get the ones specifically for girls.
I found that costco diapers leaks less than huggies, pampers. We prefered them to other brands and they start at size two. Also the advise about going upa size at night or the overnites is good. I have also found that huggies are not that good for girls (more sensitive). Good luck
What size is she wearing? You might want to go up a size, sometimes that helps -even if it's just at night for now. That's how I knew it was time to go up a size. Also you might want to switch to the Baby Dry version they're supposed to flex a little more. Or go with Huggies Overnites - those always worked well for my son who seemed to be a champ at soaking through diapers during the night. We ended up using only Huggies for my son in the long run because it seemed as he got older they worked better for him, but it had to do with fit and it seems like Huggies came up higher on him in front than Pampers did. Most of my friends with girls continued to use Pampers.
We use the Huggies Overnights, but I think they start at size 4. I have also purchased some Pampers Extra Protection, but we haven't opened them yet. If these diapers are too large in size, I have a friend who used to put a maxipad in her son's diaper at night. Good luck!
I know this sounds funny, but I used to put women's sanitary napkins in my son's diapers at night. They worked great!
I had this problem with my first. We ended up double diapering which can get a bit expensive. I know they do sell inserts that you can use. You may also try a bigger dipaer to ensure that it is covering her entire bottom. Good luck!
Try pampers dry or cruisers they are made to hold more. I think she will probabl fit into a size 3. My son use to leak out of swaddlers he slept 11 plus hours as well. Once we switched to pampers dry we didn't have that problem anymore.
My 3 week old son was leaking through every diaper and you know he's too small for the overnights. I had an idea of what to do with the free breastpad samples I got from the hospital, since I'm not breastfeeding (he's adopted). I put one on his "goods" and it provides just the right extra absorbency he needs. Not sure if it would work with a girl, but why not try it? I tried maxipads and even double diapering him. Only thing that worked well was the breastpad. Now we use them all night long and no problems! (Well, he doesn't sleep more than 3 hours at a time yet, but when we change him we put on a new breastpad). We did look for "diaper doublers", as my friend used to use them with her son years ago, but couldn't find them.
We only use Pampers during the day, but use Huggies Overnights at night.
You could also try cloth diapers at night. You could use a pocket diaper and you can put as much absorbency in there as you want. Abbie at Mom's Milk Boutique can help you. (http://momsmilkboutique.com/index.php?PARTNER=hmt90a)
Hi V., I'm a mother of 2, grandmother of 7 & come from a family that now totals 52. We have tried all the name brands & found that wal mart White cloud diapers work the best for day & night.
Good luck.
Buy the next size up in the diapers she normally wears. We had to do this just for the nighttime diapers and that solved the problem.
Good luck!
We swear by Huggies overnights--they've been the only thing we've found that doesn't leak when DD sleeps 12+ hours. They start at size 3--I don't remember if 15 lbs is big enough for them, yet, but they're worth checking out!
