I cloth diaper. They never leak even while exclusively breastfeeding. Neither of my boys ever had a diaper rash either.
I never thought I'd be asking this with my third baby, but here goes. I've having serious diaper issues with my 10 month old. I loved Huggies with my other 2 (my brother had a connection at Kimberly Clark . . . Free Huggies diapers = I love Huggies). So, no brother connection means no free diapers. I'm not loving Huggies so much. I should mention it's been 7 years since my last baby so maybe they've changed?
So, my issues. I loved the Pampers Swaddlers!! When we moved to the next size I noticed the Pampers had a netting type top layer so the poop sat on top of that and I found it really gross and she had constant diaper rash. I took this as my opportunity to try save a few bucks, and tried Luvs - diaper rash worsened immediately. I went to Huggies and all was well.
Now we are in a size 3 - I didn't like the Snug and Dry - she was wet and every poop came out of her legs. So I tried Little Movers - Her clothes are wet with every diaper change and it's not like I don't change her - after a 2 hour nap, she's soak - I'm continually changing her clothes. The diapers are good upto 28 pounds and she's 21 - I feel like maybe they are too small? Maybe her legs are odd shaped and they aren't tight enough? I don't know, but I'm tired of her being wet everytime and at a loss. Any suggestions?
I should mention, I tried size 4 and the leaks were worse, I assumed because they were too big . . . but maybe its just the brand?

I love the pamper cruisers. They are the only ones that dont leak for us. I hate the pampers baby dry!
By all means, try the next bigger size!
I faced similar problems with diaper sizes (but we're totally Pampers, though). The advertised weight suggested for the next size would be like 17 lbs, but DD was hardly 14 lbs. Didn't matter.
Because you know what? Baby blowouts and pee volumes don't always go by their weight. They go by the size of the baby, and each baby has his or her own nature.
Wrt this particular issue of diaper being wet too soon, and dirty diapers always leaking a bit somewhere, what worked always for us, was the next size. Don't go by the weight. Just buy and try it. If it turns out to be a bit too big, you can always wait and and use it later! :)

Oh, just read you'd already tried the next size. We tried Huggies once, and it leaked like crazy. Can you try getting small packs of a couple of different brands? At 10 months, we'd already started on Pampers cruisers, and we love it!
It's been about a year or so since we stopped needing diapers, but we used the Pampers Extra Protection from about the time he was your daughter's age, the only ones that kept it all in with no diaper rash, I bought his regular size according to his weight, usually through Amazon so I could purchase the bigger boxes and really save. Previously we'd used the Target Up and Up brand, but they're not good for heavy wetters so we'd had to switch. Huggies I was never impressed with.
But right before I began potty training him I saw an offer for samples from Costco for their Kirkland brand and sent for them. I received 3 diapers and they were the absolute best diapers ever! I so wish I'd known of them while he was still wearing a diaper, so my suggestion is to try those.
And the tips I learned that really helped were to fan and pull out the sides all around the legs of the diaper after putting it on which seemed to open up the diaper for better absorption, and to fold the top of the diaper down, front and back before fastening, which helped keep wetness and messes from leaking through the top of the diaper.
I found issues with Huggies when my children were that age. I loved Pampers but this was years ago so I'm certain they've changed by now. I currently use Parent's Choice for my autistic 5 year old and they work very well. I feel if they can contain that which a child his age can put out I'm pretty sure they can be worth a try to work on your little one as well.
We have to use the Huggies Overnights so that our guy doesn't leak because he goes so much at night. The slip ons are the next best I think. I liked the Kirkland for the smaller babies, but not the bigger ones. Fred Meyers isn't bad either. Actually, I think they are my favorite off brand...o and Winco's house brand. But, really we go name brand. The kids are allergic to Pampers so we can't buy those and my hubby hates the smell of Luvs so we don't use those, so I can't tell you our experiences. Keep trying...but the Overnight ones are our life savers. Good luck!
For my kids they ALWAYS leaked in Huggies. Have you considered trying a store brand like Target or Walmart?
this question scares me.. i guess the problem doesnt end when u get into bigger sizes... iv been having the same issue with going from newborn to size1.. now mind you im using the diapers i got from my babyshower (i had a diaper wishing well so i got tons) and everyone bought all different brands and styles and what not.. and already im noticing theyre all slightly different .. my daughter outgrew pampers newborn when she hit 7lbs (so i learned very quickly that the weight they say on the box isnt necessarily true.. just because your daughter weighs less than what the box says they go up to doesnt mean they fit).. her chunky little thighs were getting all red from the leg holes.. and yet the size one are slightly too big .. i just fold the tops down and make sure i make them tight enough around the top.. id rather use a size thats slightly bigger than use ones that are too tight and leaving marks on her- plus poop was exploding out of them ... is just say keep trying different brands.. my cousin made me a diaper cake for my shower so obviously the diapers didnt have packaging and had no size printed on them.. well i compared them to newborn and size 1 pampers and huggies.. and they were literally right in between the two.. now they dont make a size between newborn and 1 that i am aware of.. everythings just made different i guess
I was a pampers mama with the first and loved them, but 7 years later with my 2nd I had nothing but problems with pampers. I bought the Target brand after a friend recommended them and LOVED them.
We love the Pampers Cruisers for during the day and the overnight one for, well, over night. Never had a problem. But, I make sure to open the all the way and gently tug at the tape sides before diapering. Seems to help.
LO's birth mom used a diaper once, don't know what kind, and we had diaper rash for a week or more after. It was AWFUL and I had to insist to the social workers that she only use Pampers.
My SIL, on the other hand, doesn't like the Pampers and uses Target ones I think. Nephew pees through the Pampers.
Guess it's all about what works for this LO ....
My favorite diapers were the Target brand-- liked them A LOT better than Pampers or Huggies or Luvs.....
I liked the Costco brand.
Try Target brands.
Try Walgreen's brand.
I liked Costco's the best then some of the off brands. I had to try a few.

Both my girls are cloth diapered. No leaks unless I wait too long to change them. It's never too late to become a cloth M.! :)
We always used the no-name brand from Odd Lots! Seriously! We never had any diaper rash or any leaking problems. They were great! Saved a ton of money also!!
I went through this a bit with my daughter. With my son, I was a loyal Pampers mom. With my daughter nothing seemed to work. Since Costco said I could return their diapers if they didn't work for us, I gave them a try. Kirkland brand from Costco was the perfect solution for us.
pampers baby dry are the best diaper. we used swaddlers for the tiny sizes.. but once they got out of swaddlers.. I tried the netting type diaper by pampers.. hated it..
pampers baby dry.. green box is great..
my kids were skinny and huggies leaked around the legs too.
I used Huggies with my first 2 and didn't have nearly the problems I had when my third was born.
I won't and can't use Pampers and some others because the smell sets off my asthma and I think it's gross anyway.
After several suggestions I tried the Costco Kirkland brand and they worked perfectly.
I think Huggies changed something because my daughter gets a horrible diaper rash from the Pull-ups and my other 2 never had any issues. She also got diaper rashes from the regular diapers in addition to them leaking so bad it was like I never put a diaper on her. One of my sons has just as sensitive skin as her and he didn't have a problem.
My first 2 were boys and my third was a girl with 5 years between 2 & 3 and 8 years between 1 & 3 so I don't know if it was because my third was a girl or they really changed something. I'm really thinking they changed something.
I clothed diapered, mostly, but lately I have had to use some disposables while trying to sell the house (I just can't manage the laundry). I will say this. My daughter is 27 pounds, quite thin, and wears Huggies Size 5. Don't look at the maximum weight, look at the minimum to size. Even if Size 3 is good up to 28 pounds, if size 4 is good starting at 20 pounds, it might be time to move up a size.
Good luck.
Don't go with LUVs. Honestly, I've had good success with even the Wal-Mart and Costco brand diapers. If you are having leaking issues it is most likely a size problem. You can't really go by the pounds listed on the box, it all depends on how your little one is shaped in that area.

Were you using Pampers Cruisers? We LOVED those.
We didn't like the standard Pampers so much, just the Cruisers. We had no luck with Huggies, and we also had horrible diaper rash (and blowouts!) with Luvs.
If you have Target where you live, give their brand of diapers a try. I have used them with all three of my kids....youngest is 13 months right now. We love them and have had no problems with leaks! And they are much cheaper!
tr the next size up and see if they are any better
