Have you tried 7th generation? They are terrific. Fit so well, never leak and are really sensitive - my child has never gotten diaper rash or other irritations! I highly reccomend them.
I have been using Huggies for a long time but lately I am wondering if another diaper brand is better. I have a one year old daughter who is about 23 pounds. She has those cute, chunky thihgs too! Sometimes I feel like Huggies leak a lot and they don't always fit right. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Thank you everyone for the advice. Awhile ago I was using Pampers and thought I didn't like them but I think the size was too small. I may try them again. I also heard the Target brand was good too.

Try Pampers Cruisers with Ultra Absorbency (they sell all sizes at BJ's). They're more expensive but worth every penny. My daughter is 2 and drinks before bed and sometimes water at night, and her diapers don't leak at all.
My son was a big, chubby baby and he did better in Huggies which seem cut more for bigger babies. My daughter (16 months) is long and lean so she does better in Pampers. Luvs is okay too. You can always try several brands and see what works better for you.
LUVS!!!!!! I love LUVS! I have 3 girls ( no boys) and have used Luvs for all of them. I HATED HUGGIES! My sister swore by Huggies for her boys (5 of them) not sure what she used for the 2 girls (Yes 7 total)!Huggies for my girls made lots of laundry because almost every diaper leaked. Luvs are cheaper too! A.
i have used the sam's and costco brands and they work great my daughter is 9 months and is 23lbs. there is no perfumes which is great. and have never had diaper rash. if that helps.
I have two girls and I use Pampers. I have tried huggies and some of the off brands but I feel like Pampers fit my girls the best. I had one friend tell me once that for her boys Huggies seemed to fit him better and Pampers fit her girl better. I have know idea if this is true and I don't have any boys to compare it to like she did. But you could give Pampers a try.
I hated regular Huggies, always felt like they weren't as soft as other brands. We would buy Pampers when we could find a decent deal on them. Also, after comparing them side-by-side I couldn't find any difference between Pampers Baby Dry and Pampers Cruisers diapers.
This time around I plan to use mostly the Kirkland brand diapers from Costco. A friend let me try a few and they are great. I have another friend that works for Kimberly-Clark and he said the Kirkland brand are essentially the same as a Huggies Supremes.
We are Pampers fans! We HATE Huggies. We have 2 kids and have always used Pampers but have tried Huggies on different occasions if we have coupons/ or for overnite diapers etc. We have always regreted it!! They leak poop and pee all the time, because they just don't fit right. Pampers has 2 styles (Baby Dry, and Cruisers)- we have used both, depending on the stages they kids were going through. We also use the Pampers Extra Protection for night time. They might be a little more expensive, but well worth it!
I use target brand I love them way better then pampers. I have not had any leak problems. My daycare also tells all the parents to by target to leave at day care and a lot have just changed all together.
What is really great is the Costco Kirkland brand.
Good quality, better than the standard Huggies.
but I do like the Huggies "cruisers" which is good too.
But the Costco Kirkland diapers are lots cheaper and good.
I also had that issue with huggies with my daughter , who is also chunky in the butt and thigh area , so I swapped to costco own brand Kirkland and we get on fine with those. If you are not a member of costco then maybe try Pampers cruisers as they are more stretchy.
I never tried target brand as suggested below but I do love Target! : ) We always used Pampers...I just couldn't break away from them - even though they were more expensive, but use coupons! Even when we switched to pullups I liked the pampers brand better - but had to use the huggies brand for school and even the huggies overnights leaked. We loved the baby dry all the way up until we switched to pullups which was not long ago and only for a short time. At night though I always went up one size bigger in the diapers than I used during the day.
I have three girls, the youngest of which is about a month old, and Pampers (Swaddlers, Cruisers) has been hands-down the brand that works best for us. I have tried Huggies and Luvs, both of which leaked a lot! I actually took Luvs up on their money back guarantee!
Always buy the right size or one size up. For the most part we used pampers. When my daughter was really little I used white cloud from Walmart, but when she got a little bigger and produced more urine, these got a funny smell when they were wet. Every once in awhile, if it seemed like she was between sizes in the pampers, I might try another brand, but I always felt huggies leaked.
I personally never liked huggies diapers. I always used Pampers. I also used the night protection. They are a purple box with a sleeping baby on it. It's called Extra Protection. They are great for night and for long trips. They hold up really well. The only thing I like about huggies is their pull ups. When it comes time for potty training I used the huggies because they are sized better then pampers and they DO hold up. Especially the night time ones. So when you potty train do keep huggies in mind. Good Luck!
Try going up a size. It worked for me.
I used Pampers on my slender little girl but we had blowouts too. I really don't think that a leak proof diaper exists, but it doesn't hurt to try. You might even try company websites to see if you can get your hands on free samples.
I briefly used Huggies on my son, but they leaked. I loved Pampers. I rarely had any leaks(and by rarely I mean maybe 4 times the entire time he was in diapers). Good luck.
you might need to switch diaper brands or go up a size.
with my kids I always had to go back and forth between pampers and huggies. Pampers are taller and huggies are wider, depending on how they grew that month I'd switch accordingly.
We tried Huggies a few times and with no luck. Seems the tape was always ripping and the diapes themselves seem to have a hard feel to them.
Which is why we use Pampers.
No problems ever.
I have three boys 5 and under and have tried every brand of diapers out there! Pampers are the best as far as leaking goes - I buy the Pampers Cruisers - they seem to be thinner and absorb the best. My sons also have bed skin allergies and they are not allergic to these - they seem to pull the moisture away from the baby. The one thing that I don't like is they get saggy pants when the diaper is soiled - I guess it is ok because it gives me a visual that the diaper is wet.
We love the Costco brand....Kirkland. I have a 10 1/2 month old girl and they never leak!! I used them for my son too, who is now 4. I believe they compare to pampers and they have good stretch on the sides which i love. Plus, you buy them in bulk and save a lot of money!!!! Def. worth a try!!
Pampers Cruisers are my favorite. My son weighs 26 pounds and is in a size 4. Do you need to size up? Sometimes that makes all the difference, especially at night.
i have always hated huggies! lol. they are just not for me! i always preferred pampers when they are younger, and then luvs for toddlers!
My daughter is almost 2 now and we have been using Luvs since she was about 3 months old. Leaks are a rarity and they are much less expensive than Pampers!
Hi A. -
Go generic!! Better than Huggies and lots cheaper too!!
L.
Try Luvs. They're way cheaper, and I found fit my loveably squeezably pudgy kids well.
I use Luvs for my skinny toddler and chubby baby. I love them!!
I always had trouble with Huggies leaking too, and the premium Huggies were the worst! Pampers worked great for me. My second choice was Luvs or Kirkland, but really I bought Pampers every chance I could. You can get on the Pampers mailing list for coupons--that helps.
Pampers all the way....
I haven't tried any of the generic brands, but out of Huggies, Luvs, and Pampers, I've had the best luck with Pampers. I think a key thing is the way you have them on her. Make sure the waist is pretty snug (may even seem a littlle tight) and make sure the ruffles (around legs) are OUT! One lady at daycare always forgets to run her finger along the ruffle and wherever it is tucked in--that's where she leaks!!
Pampers hands down for me. Huggies leaked too much for me. Also, if the Pampers diapers started to leak, a larger size did the trick. Good luck.
