Any one has any good suggestions to help clean stains out of toliets. I clean them reqularly once a week and can't get the stain out. It looks so ugly. I have tried numerous products found at the store. Does any one have any remedies besides replacing them?

What can I do next?

How about letting the toilet soak with bleach for bit and then getting after it with some steel wool. I know that steel wool can scratch ceramic, but honestly who is going to be checking out the inside of your bowl that closely!!;) And bleach will usually get rid of any stain. Good luck!

Hi H.~

Are you talking about a "ring" around your toilet? If so, I had the same problem. I think it's a result of hard water. Anyway, I use a pumice stone. It works miracles!! I got it at Home Depot I think in the plumbing or section where all the bathroom fixtures are. Just ask. Just scrub it all (hard) over the ring or stains and flush. It does not scrape the ceramic either. It took the ring right out. You may have to repeat every 6 months or so, but it really works.
Good luck and let me know if you try it!

This probably sounds really odd, but dump a 2 liter of COKE in there & leave it overnight. It looks really disgusting, but just brush it quickly in the morning and the stain is gone. When we moved into my parents' house (I was a teen), my toilet had these awful stains we couldn't get out. I'd heard how Coke can clean all sorts of stuff & tried it. Voila! stain is gone!

And it's only $.99 if you find it on sale & you don't have to worry about all the nasty toxins around your family.

Hi H.,

Once my housekeeper told me she could use a pumice stick to get the stains out. You can buy it at any hardware store. We tried it and it works! Hope it works for you.

Peace,
C.

I use soemthing call the works. It's a dollar at wal-mart or Kroger. It does wonders.

Where in Cypress do you live. I also live in Cypress. We have been in Texas for 1.5 years. I just love it here.

Have you tried "Sno Bowl"? It's about the cheapest toilet cleaner you can get at Wal-Mart but I've found it gets stains out when others don't! Turn off the water to the toilet then flush so you end up w/ an empty bowl... then put the cleaner on and let sit awhile before scrubbing.

I clean my toilets w/ vinegar and baking soda, so those are very mild cleaners compared to all the stuff on the market. To get rid of the ring around the water line I use a pumice stone, which I find at WalMart. At WalMart, it is always on the very bottom shelf in the cleaning products area. It's less than $2 and lasts for about a year.
